Another school shooting - Texas
rochester rob replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
An unfortunate truth is the kids of today have no respect for others. They treat life like a video game with restarts to clean up messes. Society handed them the keys to do as they please. Don't like a teacher, neighbor, family friend,or parents attitude. Call social services or complain that they are abusing you by making you do some work. We grew up with discipline given by parents unafraid of a phone call to authorities We were taught right from wrong without fear that someone would get involved in others business. Two things you knew about the cop on the streets. One you did not want to mess with them Two if you needed someones help they were always there. These shootings are taking on the semblance of " I can beat your score " . No regard as to the outcome of ones actions. If there is an answer to the mental states of so many young people, it might be that life's leaders need to set better examples. Is it really all about how much can be grabbed for self gratification and ones own enrichment. Seems to be the message of the politicians and media currently. I personally do not claim to have answers and am glad my children are grown. -
The Rochester location closed after about a year. Duffs is still going as far as I know. Duffs were better than anchor but still not the best in the area.

A few thoughts about the Patriots game
rochester rob replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally I don't believe he is worth anything. But if we have to take him I would rather he stay in the locker room. Unfortunate but he is after all the coach's guy. -

The only thing I have to hold against Tyrod was the fifteen yard sack he took. A flick of the ball out of bounds saves us the Tolbert run on the 2/25 that followed. He does need to throw sooner as suggested by Romo. -

‘the Process’ = Fools Gold
rochester rob replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While it is true that the college player pool is getting less talented than in years past, it is by no means totally defunct of some fine players. There exists on this forum a number of people who will tell you that there are franchise quarterbacks, but only at the very top of the draft. I am sure there are team personnel guys who would like to know who these guaranteed franchise men are. It seems every year that the can't miss guys-do. Part of the process is to get those that will work in whatever system is being preached. I do not agree with all this front office has done and doubt I ever will agree with everything. . As long as we have a winning team I will enjoy it for that particular season. Although I don't post much and joined this forum under different name before the current 2001, I remember it as being much better than a place to call out morons and idiots. Back in the days of Bob Lamb and 89 (Cindy) and many others ,we could express points and discuss without all the look at me- I am the best poster -I know more than anyone else attitudes. Sadly I miss those days. As long as I am a bills fan I refuse to give up that hope that someday we will get back to being better than just good. I got through several good times in the sixties and a bunch more in the nineties. Here is to the future. Go bills and yes trust the process (for now) -
Would like to see Pitt win over our friends the pats. But the NFL in it's infinite wisdom from two weeks ago affected all of their catch terms and concerns. Player safety , level playing field, tarnish the shield, competitive balance . In letting Gronk off easy and then the injury to Shazier NE has a decided advantage. Now the league certainly could not have fore seen the injury. But in the name of ratings (money ) the decision to suspend for one game only, has come to benefit the chance of home-field throughout playoffs to NE. Rant over

Taylor has been trying so hard not to make a mistake and ruin his good stat of not turning the ball over, that it had to lead to huge mistakes. Reference that pass to the pats,if he had any faith and played hard that ball would have been gone seconds before and clearly a td if held by intended target. He who plays scared or not to lose is doomed from the get go. Over the last few years he has regressed for any number of reasons but the biggest is in his head. Rook or not at least Nate will cut it loose. And seriously of those five int one drop, two hit as thrown. Leaves two def on him and still would rather have someone who will rip it .

Tolbert is Mcderms boy so he is here to stay -
If you follow the logic shown so far TT will be under center at start of the game. Even after the horrendous interception and while obviously hurting they kept him in the game last week. He will want to continue as starter until he is carted off. Add in the factor of not wanting to lose any possible sneak into the playoffs. Reality is that ship has sailed, might as well see if you have anything to work with in the young players. As bad as the chargers game was you really can't make decisions based on one outing.

I'll make the assumption that he is listening to his position coach re #1 and said line coach should be gone asap. #2 Business as stated. #3 Need to see what you have and light a fire under former starter. I would rather have a guy unafraid to throw the ball which if we had any protection would help open up run game. Opinion on #4 undecided yet if it was worth it. I think the line was We are building a team not collecting talent. Well that's half right . We seem to play many special projects rather than our best people. Look at Groy,Milano, and Miller before Castillo got him.

Who do we want to win today? NE vs NYJ?
rochester rob replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sure the Jets will get a nice letter from the league office. Dear Jets you are correct we screwed the pooch on that call. Sorry but we need our golden team to win to offset all the bad publicity we have had lately. We will try better to conform to our own rules in the future. -
Good win today.
