  1. He could be kissing up for a job. He did say that he's keeping in shape in case training camp/preseason injuries create an opportunity for him to come back.

Maybe Belichick will take a page out of the Dick Jauron school of coaching and turn this CB to a safety ;)

  2. I live on Deer Run and the house he's looking at is nice, but it's close to the corner of Jewett Holmwood. So it's going to be noisy with traffic anyway. I would think the owner would want anyone to rent it because it's been on the market a while. I wouldn't mind him being in the neighborhood, as long as he doesn't do situps in my driveway, welcome!

Too bad everyone isn't as opened minded as you. If only you didn't "need therapy" ;)

  3. Has anyone thought of the option of letting Maybim play OLB and letting Greg Ellis be the pass rushing DE. This way Maybin can play a position at his natural weight. Maybin is also a gifted enough athlete to make the transition to OLB. If OBD is willing to transform college CB/LB to safety why not try Maybin at OLB.

  4. I cant remember where I heard this or read it. But I recall hearing that the Bills had a no huddle offense in place last pre-season and things were working well. The only problem was that with a new OC, and OLcoach they had to scrap it once Peters returned to the team. The word is that the offensive play calls and terminology was different on the line from previous years and Peters couldnt pick it up for us to use it last season. Flame away if you will, but im sure I heard or read this at some point just after the season ended.

I remember reading that last year as well. Had me looking forward to the season. I remember them trying it in preseason against the Lions but looked real sloppy with it.

  5. If my aunt had balls...

What? Technically he is a 2nd round pick, as that is the round in which he was picked. They spent their 1st round pick, to take a guy in the 2nd round this year...a guy that was passed over, again and again, by many teams in the NFL.

BTW, I have nothing against Brown. I watched him play quite a bit, living here in North Florida. I hope he does well. I expect he will be fine, if not spectacular. But, I don't think he was rated as a 1st rounder by most teams, at least those needing a DE, as he sunk to the mid 2nd.

I don't know about your aunt, but you sure have Dick Jauron's balls in your mouth.

  6. By whom? Obviously, not by the NFL teams, as he lasted until the middle of the second round.

Had Everette Brown been 6'4" or 6'5" he'd have been the Bills pick at 11. Teams passed on him for his lack of height, that's it. Carolina gave up their 1st rd. pick in next year's draft to acquire him so technically he is a 1st rd. draft pick.

  7. I don't give a sh-t if they drafted him to be our kicker, if we wanted Jairus Boyd on this team, we had to take him there.

Bottom line, you can not like the pick and trash them taking a CB in Round 2 while Brown and Cook were on the board.

But you can't say they could have had Boyd later in the draft because it's just not true.

    It's Byrd man, not Boyd!!

  8. I can understand your displeasure with the pick. I won't lie, I was pissed to when the pick came in. I was hoping for Jared Cook, personally.

But he would NOT have been available outside of Round 2, let alone later in the draft. That's just a false statement.

He was widely considered the 5th best CB prospect in the draft behind Malcolm Jenkins, Vontae Davis, Darius Butler, and Alphonso Smith, who were all gone by our pick.

There was a run on secondary in Round 2 and it has heavily carried on into the 3rd.

You may not like the Boyd pick, but it wasn't a reach.

That's cool, but Byrd's playing safety here not CB.

  9. Theres a reason why Brown slipped that far. A lot of other teams passed on him as well, tells me the Bills weren't the only ones to have concern.

I was surprised like many that we took a CB/FS that early, but some draft experts like the pick saying he was one of their 2nd round sleepers. The Bills obviously see him as someone who will contribute or they wouldnt have picked him. Not a wasted pick in my opinion.

Those same experts you speak so fondly of had Everette Brown going in the first 15. Jairus Byrd like Donte Whitner will never be able to show their skill set until this team can get pressure on opposing QB's.
