Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 1
RenoNVBillsfan replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just watched Shakir make 2 spectacular catches in the 2nd qtr…only to drop a much easier catch that would have continued moving the chain. So, making catches of high degrees of difficulty can’t be ignored as a positive. Let’s see how it plays out but if I’m McD I’d have this guy in for longer preseason stretches and preferably with Barkley as QB. -
No question McD has built stability in a franchise that was considered laughable prior to his arrival. Nice guy. Cares about his players, team and community. Produced solid winning record thus far. All that withstanding, I believe this is a make or break year for McD. The scapegoats have been removed. The team fired the ST Coach after that horrendous kickoff decision vs the Chiefs in the divisional playoff game. Frazier "excused" himself after an equally inept defensive gameplan vs the Bengals. This is the year the McD must produce and get the Bills over the hump. Beane....this guy has literally served up the best roster (on paper) the Bills conceivably have ever had! Offensive playmakers. OL help to protect JA and move the pocket. Defensive stalwarts. Resigned key FA's. If McD does not get it done -barring a major injury to JA- then I believe his time has passed. Elite HC's would be salivating at the mouth to try their hand at this talented infused roster.

The USC PAC 12 Championship game is all you need to know about Kincaid’s route running ability, hands and dare I say toughness. He was uncoverable and everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball. I also feel he has high intelligence based on his interview responses. Don’t want to compare to Kelsey but, dang, it’s there. Bills have never had a TE prospect like this.

RD 2, Pick 59: G O’Cyrus Torrence, Florida
RenoNVBillsfan replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just watched the ‘23 Senior Bowl again, this time focusing exclusively on right OG, Torrence. Gents….the guy completely stone-walled ever DT he faced. It wasn’t even close. Not only did Torrence completely stand-up every DT but he ACTIVELY sought out other DL to shift over to once he had his primary target contained. His QB didn’t even get a sniff from a DL or pass rusher that was on Torrence’s side. In fact, there seemed to be a noticeable drop off when Torrence rotated out. He also had nimble feet in the pocket and even helped pull when the running game called upon. I watched every snap and came away thoroughly impressed with his dominance…vs draft likely talent. He may not start right away but WOW! Matter of time.- 612 replies

It’s only 1 draft publication but Lindy’s had Kincaid and Torrence as the top rated players at their positions. Dorian as the 12th rated OLB (4th-5th rd grade). Broeker was also rated 12th for the OG position (6th rd grade). Curiously there was a “Could Disappoint” warning attached to Broeker. Shorter and Austin were “Worth Watching”, which typically puts them in 7th rd-BFA territory. Of note, Alabama DT FA, Dale, had a 6th rd grade so maybe a good p/u by the Bills.

Why are there gripes about the Bills not taking an available WR in the 1st round? Give Beane some credit, folks. He added 2 WR's via FA that are better than any prospect he could have found at #27 and already experienced in the NFL. If he didn't feel there was a significant upgrade on what he acquired by FA then I support that reasoning. He also made some upgrades at the OL in FA, which again may have been better grades that what he saw available in the 1st round. Where I think the Bills need to seriously consider is the best Center / OG prospect avaialable in Round 2 and to acquire dept at the DT position. Pretty bleak at this point with depth at these positions.
-
You want to know anything about Kincaid, simply watch film of him destroy USC secondary (and most of the Pac 12) on their way to winning the Pac 12 Championship last season. He was a 1-man wrecking crew and un-coverable, even though the whole stadium knew he was getting the ball. I don't want to even say he's in the same breath as Kelce but he has an entirely different skill set that Knox. Prediction: Day 1 starter.

Hilarious that just giving JA better protection or more speed at WRs will suddenly be the magic wand. It’s coaching folks. JA would still throw the 50 yrd, low % bombs if he had the Dallas Cowboy OL from ‘92-93. McDermott is woefully inept in big games, fails to make adjustments or plainly use common sense. His OC/DC are direct extensions of his ineptitude. Andy Reid and now Zack Taylor will outcoach this guy 9-10 games they play. Watch how the offenses, in particular, play within themselves and take what the defenses give. As for defenses, Frazier has received F ratings the past 2 seasons in the most critical games. He should’ve been fired for abysmal D vs Cincy. Strike that….the Miami game was even worse due to the level of QB he faced.

Isaiah Hodgins Bills made big mistake
RenoNVBillsfan replied to Chicagobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been a Hodgins fan for 2 years. All he does is catch the ball consistently and more often for 1st downs. He was better than Kumerow, McKenzie, Beasley, Brown and dare I say Gabe Davis until this Dolphin game. Others should’ve been cut before this talent. -
Miami tried to sign Davis Webb from Giants PS
RenoNVBillsfan replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh my lord… Webb has a world-beating 4.2 YPC. Think about that stat for a moment. Webb had 40 attempts. 40! Yet he complete 23 passes for a 168 yards. Not since Captain Checkdown, Trent Edwards, have I seen such abysmal ypc from an NFL QB. -
To the life of me I do not understand how Beane let’s a guy like I. Hodgins - who simply produced every time given the opportunity- go and keep butter fingers McKenzie, alarming dropsy Davis and no production, Beasely. If Hodgins had a even upper tier QB in NY, his production would go up exponentially. How in the world can JA keep throwing to these guys?!? My crusade for the return of Hodgins continues….

I’ve been impressed with Motor the past 2 seasons and feel a long term contract is warranted. Yes, I know RBs are a dime a dozen and it’s wrong to overpay. However this guy not only runs with authority, elusiveness and toughness but also capable as a receiver and above average in pass protection. Plus, has the utmost respect of JA. I’d lock him up at least for a 4 yr deal this off-season. Watching Cook surge in both the running and receiving game, is there a better tandem of RBs than Motor and Cook right now? Motor averaging 4.6 ypr, Cook 5.8 ypr.

Glazer reports Jets moving on from Wilson.
RenoNVBillsfan replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hard to believe there isn’t some heads rolling after another colossal QB selection debacle in the top #3 of the draft, within 4 years. Anyone recall the draft hype of Wilson? Was this a Todd Mcshay / Kiper hype fest? The guy had one respectable year at an independent FBS college. The jury is still out but one has to put Mac Jones and Justin Fields light years ahead of Wilson. -
I don’t know what Beane sees in this guy. Yes, he’s had occasional productive games, ironically coming mainly against NE. However, to consistently be counted on to make the critical 3rd down, JA doesn’t trust this guy and for good reason. They cut I. Hodgins who all he did was make 1st downs when called upon and had hands like fly paper. Now the Bills are bringing back retreads like J Brown and Beasely. Have to question this one….

Gregory Rousseau is becoming elite
RenoNVBillsfan replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
No doubt about Groot. I was and continue to be impressed by Shaq Lawson. He seems reborn and a man possessed when the intense need moments count. He just looks like a different player than his first tour with the team. Shaq, Groot, Basham and Oliver pressing the middle still makes this Bills team so formidable. Heck, even Espenesa had the bat down of the game. Go Bills! -
Motor averaged nearly 5.0 yards a carry today, 3.9 last week vs the Pats. I do not understand why he is not given 1 game to prove he can be a bell cow runner. One game….

Gotta shout out to my guy Isaiah Hodgins. Back-to-back games with receiving TD’s. Feel for the dude having to deal with the putrid passing ability of Daniel Jones. The guy hasn’t passed beyond 200 yards in the past 2 games. 56.5 QBR for the season. Imagine the red zone threat he could have been had the Bills retained him. After watching McKenzie be less than inspiring this season, I still believe the Bills cut the wrong Isaiah.

White showed me he is a QB to be feared, maybe more than any other QB in the division. Some of his throws -in the face of blitzing LB/DL - was a testament to both guts and skill. I will go so blasphemous to say he outplayed JA. Yes, yes, yes he is nowhere near as talented as our beloved JA. I liked his decision making, though. A significant upgrade to Flacco and light years from Wilson. Bills need to be wary….

This is how I feel on victory Friday
RenoNVBillsfan replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall
This may be old news at this point but did anyone find out what player benefits are for Victory Fridays? I assume players get the day off? -
Motor on what is special about Josh as a teammate
RenoNVBillsfan replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The more I watch the Chiefs game the more I come away impressed with Motors overall effort and production. Watch that first half again. The dude is moving piles and getting excellent north south effort. His pass blocking also was solid. He has become a complete back in my opinion and I was so glad Bills passed on CMC and stuck with possibly the most underrated back in the league.- 35 replies

I realize more goes into a player’s impact than stats but based purely on stats here you go: Sauce: Attachment with 23 total tackles, 16 solo, 7 assists. 1 Int Elam: Attachment with 29 total tackles, 19 solo, 10 assists. 2 Ints. I’ll need to watch film because based purely on stats, I’m not seeing a noticeable difference in impact.
