  1. YES!!!! FINALLY someone who is older than I am besides Shaw.... and so, I get to say... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLD MAN!!!! 😉
  2. I am not Christopher Reeve, however. There are many who could do it, but I am not that person. Robin Williams wasn't that person either. It's not a bad thing to have differing opinions on how a person would handle being almost completely paralyzed.
  3. So if he's not dead and almost completely paralyzed (below the waist and right arm), how is that living? Personally I would not want to be alive if that happened to me, period. I simply cannot process this update going from dead to almost complete paralysis it makes me so sick and is extremely heavy on my soul after finding this out. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-former-nfl-wide-receiver-mike-williams-suffered-complete-paralysis-from-waist-down-from-life-threatening-accident/ar-AA1glN0B
  4. My grandfather and father worked construction jobs for decades, and ironically both ended up causing their deaths prematurely (my grandfather worked at Hanford in the 50s and the radiation led to brain cancer). Most of the time former NFL players end up in white collar jobs or other opportunities in sports, which is why I thought it was sad that he entered the field that he did. Amen.
  5. My father who was a project manager was murdered while working at a construction site in Niagara Falls along with others, poison like from Love Canal. Construction sites are high risk in more ways than one and to see he had to work that kind of a job to make ends meet is sad.
  6. Hulu+ Live TV offers everything we watch at about $90 less a month, so we're going to ditch Spectrum. They are literally telling sports fans we don't care about you by doing this, and their lame attempt to blame Disney falls flat, saying that they are for "fairness" when they are a part of a virtual monopoly in our area.
  7. Goal scoring is only A PART of success in the NHL... THE SABRES WERE RANKED 26TH IN GOALS ALLOWED and were MINUS 4 IN GOAL DIFFERENTIAL. Clearly you are cherry picking stats that fit your argument. Insulting me isn't going to make you prove ANYTHING... teams on paper don't make the playoffs, teams who PLAY ACTUAL GAMES do. Results will prove you right or wrong, and so until those results come all you have is PREDICTIONS.
  8. The Bills made the playoffs in 2018, a year BEFORE 2019, and Eichel was a "top prospect" who now plays for a Stanley Cup winner. I find it bizarre that you bring up the 2019 Buffalo Bills, as if the Sabres are now an automatic lock because they chose some top prospects. Beane and McDermott were already in place when the 2019 season started, and I just don't see EITHER of their equivalents in the Sabres organization.
  9. Once again, a pivotal moment in this history of the franchise... what could have been, much like Bill Polian. That's why I talked about it and how devastating the Murray era was... Pegula was supposed to be a hockey guy #1 and look at what happened.
  10. It established a pattern of mismanagement that alienated one of the biggest stars we've ever had as a franchise. How is that not extremely important?
  11. If he gets hurt again, he's done, and where does that leave us if he wants to come back again instead of retire? I'm all for caution and am not a Chicken Little, but I'm sick and tired of the positive BS spun over injuries only to find out it was all a mirage and additional weeks are needed for healing. We have way too much money invested in a player that hasn't made a significant impact when it counts, and I am so hoping that this is all worth it in the end....
  12. THANK YOU for at least acknowledging that we have major issues and being "the best hockey market in the country" isn't cutting it right now. The row with Pat is what I think essentially took our franchise and royally screwed up the organization is what I was getting at. It took what could have been just a small playoff drought and made it into an extremely long one. The damage that was done that day is still not acknowledged enough and it shows how badly Pegula has botched things with the Sabres. Had he chosen to back Pat we would have probably been in a much stronger position to rebuild properly. Pegula still has not healed that rift and that REALLY bothers me... I am hoping he does sell the team and the Sabres stay and win the Cup or show they can return to the playoffs regularly.
  13. Did they make the playoffs in the last two years? The Buffalo Sabres last made the playoffs in 2011!!!!!! In 2014 after Tim Murray came in and began wrecking the franchise, LaFontaine left the Sabres. How is that so difficult to understand???? https://www.buffalohockeybeat.com/stunner-pat-lafontaine-resigns-from-sabres/ I can tell you didn't fully read my post. 14. What good is being the best hockey market in the country if you never win anything??? They can't even make the playoffs in the NHL, and that in itself is embarrassing. This team hasn't been the same since they drove off Patty LaFontaine and it drives me nuts.
  15. We should keep him because I think that McDermott will be out eventually and I think that Elam is being underutilized. I have little faith in the coaching staff right now, and I think we have issues that could lead to a disappointing season. Leslie Frazier was made a scapegoat and this negativity towards Elam from the staff seems contrived. TOTALLY agree.... we are on the precipice of a hard fall if we just let a guy like Elam go.
  16. It happened HERE in my area of OH/PA just this past week!!!! https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/investigators-focus-on-possible-house-explosion-cause/
  17. UVA has NEVER been good in college football, though... their history is abysmal, like the Gamecocks. They don't have a much biggest television market than Blacksburg... check it out, it's true.
  18. I must assume that there is a plan by Beane to fix this issue, but if they don't come up with something soon to protect Josh and keep him from becoming Cam Newton 2.0, then I'm afraid for McD and eventually Beane it will be....
  19. UVA is a crap school for football... you'd think they would want UNC and Virginia Tech. UVA to the SEC would be a dumb move.
  20. Well, you're wrong, so enjoy swimming in your wrongness. Depends on whether or not O'Cyrus is ready for the league or not... it's a wait and see, but so far I don't get their plans with respect to the OL.
  21. By your logic, only "arm/shoulder/collar bone" count, but that's ridiculous! How many times has Rodgers played through injuries and hurt his team? Why is it that Rodgers, who doesn't put his body on the line NEARLY as much as Josh, have so many more injuries? You're being disingenuous. https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/aaron-rodgers/2636 https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/josh-allen/9962
  22. I said this on Monday and LO AND BEHOLD Saleh on Hard Knocks was PISSED OFF at his O line and now everyone is freaking out a day after being so pumped in getting Cook. WAIT AND SEE.
  23. One of the sailors I served with got nailed in San Diego and he was wearing full protective gear and was seriously injured... most of the time those others end up dead and I am sad to see nobody will do anything about it here. It is also legal to operate motor vehicles without any doors, so stupidity abounds.
  24. This is like having a Ferrari with the best tires and no brake pads... we're just waiting for the inevitable Rodgers IR report. They are literally refusing to upgrade their offensive line for a 40 year old QB who is used to having a Top 3 OL in the NFL!!!! You're obviously denying that.
