Arizona's defense is so abysmal so far that even with the Steelers looking ahead it doesn't look good for Arizona- but that is why they play the games. -

Our only hope is that the Raiders tank a few games before Palmer gets warmed up if the Chargers beat the Jets. That darn Palmer trade really made it hard for the Bills to compete in the end. -

I don't know about that... we may want to root for the Jets, because the Chargers aren't an automatic lock to win the AFC West, and if they are a wild card team we need to have them lose. We shouldn't go to the playoffs if we can't beat the Jets anyways, but I have a feeling that the Chargers will be our competition if we keep winning, and the Jets are not strong enough to make it to the end of this season with a chance at a playoff spot. If the Raiders and Chargers keep winning, the end result is one spot left for the Bills against the Steelers/Titans/Texans/Bengals/Jets, and that's a lot of competition to have to beat out. -

Not me... 10-6 or 11-5 would be heaven for the players we have now. I could not imagine how we'd do with another year of good draft picks and moves!!!! -

The Bills' method of winning is unsustainable.
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually you can, it is called game analysis with a realistic look at what happened. Average teams will tease you with games of awesomeness only to let you down with games where they lay eggs. Teams go 3-1, 4-1, 4-2 all the time and miss the playoffs, or nose dive, or struggle midway through only to come roaring back to life. As i said before, our next big test is not the Giants, not the Redskins, but the JETS. You cannot possibly have any hope to make the playoffs without beating them, and unfortunately their strength matches up poorly with our weakness as of NOW. If we can get Aaron Williams out there and make changes within the secondary, we could very well fix what ails us. -

Why, is that acceptable? I didn't think anyone knew we had weaknesses as long as we win... -

EasternOHBillsFan replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone with a minute enough of sense in their brain knows that teams who give up 400+ yards a game can't possibly go very far in the postseason. Your idea of negative isn't very realistic- how many times can our defense fail us before something rattles around in your head that brings you to the realization that this year is merely a prelude to defensive improvement and is not a season where we go deep into the playoffs? Enjoy the ride, but be realistic, please. -

EasternOHBillsFan replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I'm saying is that turnovers for this team are inconsequential- what matters is shoring up our defense. In either case, + or - in differential, we're in every single game and our defense MUST step up and finish. I'm hoping for a winning season and optimism going into 2012. -
Strength of Schedule and our record
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
8-8 or 9-7 is what I see, and that is without an upset. Cleveland may not be good, but they are still a divisional opponent who can beat them. Polamalu will miss their next game at least, and you know how they fare without him... -

EasternOHBillsFan replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No pressure on the QB. Turnovers dried up. Defense giving up tons of yards. Cincinnati game all over again. I hope this finally puts to rest this idea that as long as we win everything is peaches and cream and rainbows. We're getting closer to a really good team status, but the denial of our flaws has to end and realism sets in. I am much more optimistic about the Redskins game now and the Jets game, but when we play the Cowboys and Chargers expect more of what happened against the Giants. -

People would complain if we had run three straight times and called Gailey's approach too conservative. We're 4-2 after 6 games!!!! We know our weaknesses, and they will be addressed.
