He was one of the very, very few who would take the Bills over the Dolphins to win the AFC East. Like it or not, as we get OLD, this happens more and more frequently. Sad. Van Miller and Keith Jackson left a major hole in my sports universe, that's for sure, and Rick Jeanneret will be the last of the great sports announcers.

Would you take Marcell Dareus back?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This cannot be serious!!! HELL no... Phillips like everyone else says MUST be brought back!!! He doesn't act like a man child and he puts forth super effort every week. -
Easily the best moment of the game right here

I said that and I got crap for it... he is the kind of corner you get once every 10 years. He's Butch Byrd level. -
Football families at Thanksgiving
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Dave in Avon Lake now's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are Bills, Browns, Colts and Panthers for my family, so this really doesn't apply to us... no big egos or huge rivalries. It makes it so much easier! I feel sorry for those who have to endure other fans that suck! -
Those who actually WATCHED Cousins play could tell you that he had a ceiling that did not warrant that kind of a contract... he is not a clutch QB. He is reckless with the ball when his team is in a position to hold a win. Keenum may not have had as high a ceiling as Cousins, but at least Keenum is a smarter NFL QB. The Vikings overreached, and now they are paying the price. They have Diggs, Thielen, and Rudolph for God's sake!!!! We look better with the patchwork offense we have... that's unacceptable.

Vontae Davis is in a different category all his own, along with Anquan Boldin. They are quitters and have lame excuses as why they did so. Also, other players like Dareus and Benjamin quit on the team in a different way, which hurt our team even more. I'd rather just have players quit and leave the facility rather than collect a check and quit on a weekly basis while still being a member of the team. When you perform your job very poorly consistent to where you are pulled off the floor or from behind the desk so to speak, that's because YOU DID A POOR JOB. You still have to work to earn your check, though. Nobody gets paid for doing nothing if they suck in the real world.

Ed Oliver won't be a Buffalo Bill
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they draft a defensive player with a high first rounder, I want this bonehead staff fired. Clearly they are ill prepared to follow the obvious trend in the NFL that OFFENSE wins you games a lot more than defense. -

Well, I'm almost 50 so I get it. It just doesn't make any sense in my mind that the 70s was 50 years ago... tough to fathom. Just crazy. -
Fallout 76 is out
EasternOHBillsFan replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This game is amazing, and I've been playing Fallout since Fallout 3. It may not have the dialogues that past Fallout games have had as much, BUT it is very immersive. Players in my world so far have been helpful and not trolls, which is nice. The crafting system puts more emphasis on survival, but you can easily make your own workbenches in the C.A.M.P. system, which I STRONGLY advise early! To avoid having to trek across the wilderness for your loot, discover a spot near where you are so you can fast travel back easy. I made the mistake of venturing down the road a ways and not doing that, and the same walk back was not fun at all. As an aside, since it is an online game, it can easily be added onto into the future like GTA V Online. That's a huge positive. -

I get it, but the percentages drop significantly as you go back decades... so if Letterman isn't a name with those kids, it goes to show most older references are lost on them. -

Yeah, I have gotten that before with my sailors that worked for me. I was watching college football coverage earlier and they were talking about something being Abbott and Costello like and thought most wouldn't get it. -

Eventually there won't be many people who know what this reference even means. Getting older means talking about things that most have no clue as to what they are. -

We're not going to draft defense with the pick anyways, so this discussion is MOOT... They had better draft offense in Round 1 or some of us are going to be extremely angry... there is no justification for drafting defensive with that high of a pick. If they do, McDermott at least needs to go. We can't afford another former DC turned head coach shafting our offense for another 3 years... THE PRESENT AND FUTURE IN THE NFL IS OFFENSE, NOT DEFENSE. -
An Honorable Salute To Our TBD Veterans

I got my DD-214 the last day of this January after 20 years, and left San Diego for good, thank God! Finally back home east, enjoying some beautiful cold weather and snow and some REAL Italian pie!!! I woke up trying to tell myself no one will call you wondering where you are... then to hell with shaving every day... then a weekend realizing no duty... then finally peace. I think duty days killed me the most... standing watch for 4-5 hours on my feet in boots on a metal deck with my back hurting due to injury carrying and having a vest on, having to worry about it every 5th weekend... -
I would try again next season unless you paid into it... missing the draft hurts you the more teams and positions there are. It sounds like you are in a 14 or 16 team league, so that's my advice. It's just too deep of a hole to come out of as Darnold is out several weeks and our QB carousel is terrible. So, there would be such a thing as a waiver wire by which you can claim players, or a free agent list by which you can claim players. EVEN IF one autodrafts, you can still help yourself to great options that are out there. Not doing your due diligence in either of those areas is unacceptable... you had the option to pick up Fitzpatrick, Beathard, Mullens, Osweiler... I would be on it daily to work out acquisitions. I got Conner and Boyd because of that and I'm now 7-1.

Nate Peterman, the QB you said has barely played. Bills coach Sean McDermott said Thursday it will be tough for QB Derek Anderson to play Sunday... http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-41041739-4 Josh Allen has barely played by your standards, and he has 2 wins and should have had a third but good ol "throw it to the other team" Peterman ended that quickly! This is a poor man's version of the old E.J. Manuel debate, where Bills fans kept defending failure. IF YOU DON'T TAKE CARE OF THE FOOTBALL, YOU LOSE. Allen takes care of the ball and gives us a chance to win. Peterman buries us before we can blink.
-
So what do you tell our defense... don't play hard, season's over? Yeah, good luck with that... we'll be in for a shellacking like the Raiders got on Thursday night. Barely played? OK sport, let's see what happens after this Sunday against the Bears. What will the excuse be this time when he posts another QBR in the teens?

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Fans in the Dumps
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So.... Robert James had 9 INTs in his career, which was 6 years long. Butch Byrd had 7 INTs in ONE SEASON on his way to 40 career INTs... in 8 years in his Second All-AFL Team career. Tre'Davious White only has 5 more INTs to match Robert James over the next 3 1/2 years... Nope. -
If Peterman does start, all of this means NOTHING. HOW MANY sh***y games does it TAKE with this guy at QB before he gets cut? As Bills fans, we should not tolerate this BS any more. I don't care if we just signed Pryor or Barkley, GET SOMEONE ELSE IN THERE who is at least a tad bit competent. Starting Peterman is like conceding the game and giving the defense another opportunity to play great only to have it pissed away by a not ready for CFL quarterback. ENOUGH!!! Enough.
