  1. I think some guys we drafted high in the past....are going to get "coached-up" big time Leodis, A. Williams, Shep, Bradham, TJ, (not Torrell Troup) and others will see their All-Pro potential come through (again)........Dareus, Mario, Spiller....SJ! I see this staff getting the most out of their talent.......Chan/Wanny left the whole motivation thing to the individual. Not good with some young players.
  2. That just made me LOL... Because its so true....just looks like a kid that will one day divide that locker room with silly sh-t rather than be a leader of men.
  3. Buddy Nix??? I love that man! Love him! -Cornell Green
  4. At 31 (SF): The Pats would have GLADLY handed Philly #29 to let them jump us and F the Bills. I thought we may have had a shot to go 16 to 25 (Vikes)
  5. I think he was a HELL of a GM! -Torrell Troup
  6. I'm not into the whole brevity thing. -Duderino
  7. Matt Scott or Landry Jones in the 5th
  8. Arthur Brown - the next great Ravens LB......mark it dude. Would have loved that pick. Holding out hope that we pick Khaseem Greene.....
  9. Miami is this year's Philly....."Dream Team" baby! I pray that Geno goes to the Jets.....Cannot wait til that fat f-k and his sideline antics are sent packing. Geno should seal that deal for them.
  10. Mathieu would do nothing but smoke weed during his first winter in the B-lo. High risk. Worth it in the 4th however but I do not think he lasts. Not with the SF's of the world out there- SB roster....no risk in taking chances with huge upside. This kid could be a P.I.A. liability all season then make the SB-winning pick 6. Perfect for SF. We would need him there every day and twice on Sunday. Don't think he's that mature yet.
  11. I feel that they're going to grab Matt Scott in the 5th!! Another read option capable guy (albeit a project) that they seemed to have an interest in.....
  12. Regardless of whether I love the EJ pick or not (like his physical tools, think this coaching staff will get the best out of him eventually) Is WHY we didn't use our allotted time to see what other (more creative) GM's may have packaged to get into the 16 slot. One thing we all knew: SF HAD to package picks to try to move up sooner or later.....We could have made one call to them to take/leave it for another 2nd rounder ++. Atlanta as well. Everyone knew they wanted to move up to grab a corner. Even if our heart was set....one shot for another GM to blow us away, add picks in key rounds to address more holes, and STILL have a very good shot at getting our top guy late in the 1st??? If someone jumped us for him, we get Geno/Nassib/Barkley guaranteed! Let the clock tick a bit and see what happens!!!!!! It costs you NOTHING to do it. It drove me freaking nuts that the pick went right in, a true calling card of this GM. Sorry if this is being discussed elsewhere. Maybe someone with more knowledge can enlighten me on the strategy of submitting the pick immediately.
  13. So hard to say......Jax, Raiders, Eagles and now even Cleveland have all been public about Geno in the past month. Raiders are now obviously out. Would Jax send their entire personnel group to his pro day as a smokescreen? Given how frail Vick is, and Cousins possibly not a fit for his offense....does Philly have a legit interest? Bravo to the FO if they planned it as you say - that would be quite impressive given our history - but I think they had to mock as if he would be gone by 8 in most cases. overall, I cannot recall a draft that had a top 10 with so few consensus locks. This thing can go a million ways. Cant wait!
  14. Trading into late 1 for Barkley. Nice guy....don't want him here.
  15. If true, I LOVE IT...... It means Buddy not completely in charge. They probably have the old bstrds mouth duct taped....his mouth would be total liability to any kind of plan that required us to be cagey (for once).
  16. Listening to Jimbo on Sirius show, he basically shat all over the idea of a Cali QB being right for this job. The conditions, the winds, etc. Go figure, he was all-in for the tough Pennsylvania kid from the Cuse. Not that Jimbo is in our war room, or has any sway, but was surprised to hear how dead set against Barkley he was for "us" as he put it ( I love that). That aside, I think that this FO will shock us in a good way over the next few days!!
  17. RB has UFA written all over it.
  18. The Austin/Rams scenario is likely. In the 15 hole, I think you can get the Niners to bite (Vaccaro, Rhodes, Trufant)...they have the picks to spend. That would be a NICE collection of top 100 picks for us. They are not far-fetched scenarios at all.
  19. From the 2:55 mark.....Atlanta and Buddy negotiating.
  20. Start your stopwatch for a Brady or SJ13 reference......
  21. Yes, this is another trade-down thread.... If after AZ picks, Star Lotuleilei is still on the board, our call is to the Niners. They have way more picks than needs and they have the luxury to target shoot particular players to fill out their (ridiculous) roster. Depending on which way they choose to go (they also need help at corner), the #8 slot can give them 100% assurance they get their guy. Star at #8 would be good value for them.....all a question of their highest priority need. I wish we could take Star at 8 but we all know our issues..... The other scenario is this: If it's a corner/safety they want the most...When Millner comes off the board, (#6) I do not think they are going to want to stay put at 31 knowing that, at any time, a small run on corners can deplete the top prospects. Vaccaro is mocked all over the first round, nobody can say where SF would need to trade in to get him. They have specific needs and a lot of trading capital that is of most value to them in packaging/moving up, not acquiring bodies...8 is a little high for the other 1st round corners....but if/when there is a run on a position, the value charts get thrown out of the window. Vaccaro at 8 is a little high but not for a SB team with targeted needs. All depends on what they want the most.....strictly value, this makes the most sense for Star. If we are trading, this could be the ideal partner for us. Can't wait to see how this plays out. (1) 31. San Francisco 49ers (2) 34. San Francisco 49ers (from Kansas City Chiefs) (2) 61.
