  1. No matter how many times it's flogged around for the next 7 days, that dog just won't hunt!
  2. Anyone that says that Orton was "no better than EJ" is really trying too hard to force-twist reality. I was really enjoying this thread until someone tried to sneak that into the conversation.
  3. Because he is the closest thing that this franchise has had to a legitimate NFL starting QB since Bledsoe. We see how talented the rest of our team is and believe that an average NFL QB or better can win many games with this team. No miracles expected…just get the ball to our WRs without having to have them risk decapitation.
  4. Yes, we do have our receivers running around wide open and at times "college open" and much of that credit goes to the OC. There have also been many instances of play calling, formations and personnel packages that are completely insane for the situation the offense was in. If I could see that much from my chair, that is a problem. That is why crafty offensive football minds are employed for a LONG time in this league…you have to be THAT good to continuously beat NFL DC's. Theres a level of skill and competence necessary to compete and I do not believe our OC was ready for that level.
  5. He's a large contributor to our run D turnaround. He gives us a nasty edge up the middle where we were gashed all last year and he plays hard. I think he's come to us as advertised and held up his end of the bargain. Cannot wait to watch him in the Pats game…that alone worth the price of admission….PF's and all. F the Pats.
  6. Do you think he shaded more towards always or never on the topic of throwing receivers open? That is... if he saw them to begin with.
  7. I think we're at least in for a good game... We have never seen our receivers thrown open nor have we seen bubble screens (Sammy's specialty) or Slants where the receiver is ready for the throw or proper "jump balls" to Williams or Woods getting involved early and often We have a QB that can read a D and make every throw.
  8. They're paying ridiculous amounts of $ for TE and FS…..and QB of course. Hard to retain any other talent.
  9. He deserves more targets and I really think Orton is going to distribute the rock.
  10. Our pets heads are falling off!
  11. Not sure if this has been discussed at all but - Does the collective here think that we might use EJ out there situationally? for example: in the read option on 3rd/4th and short to throw off the D?
  12. This. And they doubled-down on Thad/Tuel in 2014 .....EJ doubts and all. That one is on Whaley all the way 0/3 in QB's with a playoff roster otherwise.
  13. Orton will throw for 2 TDs and his mustache will throw for 3.
  14. I love the ones with the big n ugly Chitown girls…. Orton don't give a !@#$. Drinking Jack and Playing Quarterback <------T-shirt idea right there.
  15. Garappolo is a stud…Pats know it too. watch.
  16. Well they're ready to move on from Tom Brady up in New England….I've heard of him! Get'r Done replacement GM after Whaley gets fired this offseason!
  17. Of the 3 QBs that he brought here this year, 0 were ready to lead an NFL offense. Many on this board knew it. Until it was blatantly obvious (with help from Marrone explosion), did he wait to bring in Orton. It's the most important position on the field. And we know that it doesn't matter that you have high quality talent all over both sides of the ball…live and die by your QB. If I am Terry, that is what he would have to explain in detail to me: the last 2 years of an absolute QB circus under Whaley.
  18. How much more wide open should our WRs get? And AP would want out of here fast if he were blocking….this isn't Vince Lombardi's NFL. We made a commitment to get winning minded athletes from winning programs. Being the competitors they are, they would like to not only win but to win and see their names up there with the top WRs in the game…ultimately those stats are how they're measured both competitively and financially. Yes…$ matters.
  19. Think about it from Robert Woods standpoint: They stick with EJ and he is either going to get decapitated going up for an errantly high pass…..or he is going to continue to see 3-5 targets a game of which 2 are catchable OF WICH one is behind the LOS. These guys want to win now….and they want to get big time WR stats too. Rookie contracts are not the $$$ they had in mind. Would suck to be R. Woods who had EJ throughout his rookie contract and heading to the negotiating table…. and isn't even in the top 30 WR's
  20. Throw this into the mix… Orton > Fitz
  21. Hans just got the detonators… Here's hoping he knows how to blow sh-t up next Sunday.
  22. Why are you lashing out at the fellow fans when it was the Coaches decision? Fans will be fans….coaches bench QB's.
  23. Love EJ or not, it's the right thing to do to preserve this season.
