We need to be prepared to bump right up against that cap for 2015 and maybe even ask Mario to restructure a bit (for Hughes, a QB etc.)in the name of getting him into the playoffs++. Nothing lasts forever in this league and we..right now... have an ELITE and scary good defense. Hughes is a keeper…for this team. There may be better but I don't give a rats A$$ because they are an unknown to this team…may be a problem, may be injured, may not do as well once they get their $. Hughes is a known commodity, he fits well and is extremely productive here. In this structure, with these players, captains and DC/HC…he helps us win games. You don't tempt fate here by thinking he's so easily replaced.

Right - and good OC's can design plays to beat those DC's GIVEN their QB's weaknesses (every QB has them). Hence, the mind game/chess match that Coaches/Coordinators play with one another. We are at a complete disadvantage in that department on the offensive side of the ball. I have no doubt that Ruben was making a valid point. If he can see it, than TP's Consultant should see it too…way too much offensive OC talent out there to stick with NC another year with fingers crossed.

If Eli goes to the market (slightly less than a 1% chance that happens), you go all-in and be the first team there. Guy takes a lot of crap, deserves some not all, but is legions above anything we have or are discussing.
