  1. Actually a lot of people said it was a stupid trade when it was made. Ohh no, he was a jerk!? Whateverrrrr

Well of course a guy who chooses to be known as 'cantankerous' would not care if we had a jerk on the team. He was involved in a hit and run, and pulled a 'do you know i am' while stealing money from a woman in a bar.

Again, if you were one of those guys who was upset that we traded a guy who gave far less than his best here. Again, he had no 100 yard games for three years before his current hot streak.

  2. I think Marshawn is the most fun running back to watch, and he has also had an incredible 2 months. He has five 100 yard games this year. his previous 4 years? 6, his last one being in '08.

So yeah, the Bills are stupid for trading an under performing player.

Freddie was better from day one, and the reason it took him three years to unseat Lynch was he was a first round pick and Freddie was not. He was given every opportunity to succeed here and he was not good enough, and he was also a jerk.

Any one who says NOW that the Bills were stupid for trading him is delusional.

What matters is that, if we hadn't traded Lynch, we'd still have two quality RBs (Jackson and Lynch) plus a first round pick from last year that would've been used at a position other than RB.

Thank you captin hindsight. lets say that Marshawn was never traded therefore never got the wake up call he apparently needed, then what would you say today? another first round bust by the bills.

  3. What's crazy is yesterday there were like 3 different ESPN radio people, INCLUDING SVP (who I love and respect) calling him a TE. Saying we're giving people fits w/ our double TE formations (him and chandler). WTF?

I have heard this as well. I guess they simply mistake him for our former TE Shawn Nelson. Pretty Lame though.

  4. I heard Micheal Harmon, Fox Sports Fantasy 'expert' tell two callers on the radio this morning to play Nelson over a number of other players. He even told the second caller just to drive the point home, and I quote, "You will build a paper mache hat in honor of David Nelson after this game."

It was cool to hear our #2 or 3 WR being talked about like that.

I liked Nelson last year, and was hoping for progress but when Jones was named #2 I was a bit confused and disapointed. Not no more I ain't.

  5. seriously, name calling? For having an opinion on a public board? Wow, thanks for reading I guess?

No, not name calling. Hating is an action or a feeling, in this case maybe a label but not a name. Had I called you negative nancy you would be right, but I didn't. In fact I like your name, I think it's clever. Your argument is clever I guess, just wrong in my opinion. Again they way over paid for lee for most of his contract. Were they also supposed to over pay Clements? Pat Williams was the only guy I could come up with over the past decade that they could have and should have kept at what ever price. Peerless? nope. Who? Who besides Williams?

  6. First, I have to say that I love the group of players and coaches this team is operating with this year, for the first time in more than 10 years it feels like this team has gotten it's collective $h1t together. in every area, EXCEPT where it counts most.

    End Rant.

You are wrong. You are a hater who takes only evidence that can be skewed to fit your argument.

I wont bring up the draft picks but how about over paying for all those lousy FA's under the previous regimes? Or the overpaid WR we just traded away in the last year of his contract?

You really think the team that paid Dokery 49 mil. won't shell up for Fitz at a similar rate.

    BYE BYE.

This new front office has yet to let a good player walk. You can't compare past front offices with this one yet. At this time, it seems Nix and company are doing well. In negotiations with Fitz and Johnson, you just don't give them what they want, that's why its called negotiating. Although, we all read that Jackson has been snubbed so far, do you really believe that won't get done at some point?

Wow...careful dealing in facts around here.

  7. My first thought when reading the title of this post was 'sure, all of the peeps who have started 700 other threads on topic, where have you been?'

Upon reading the post i say 'sure, and this thought has been expressed only 300 times.'

It seems to me as it does several others, Merriman has been asked to do something other than pressure the qb. I believe the Bills were happy to let Cassel and Campbell beat us. The latter almost backfired. The game plan against the Pats should be much different since they don't run too often. The secondary is a MAJOR concern for this game...we will see how it goes.

  8. Note to self; Ignore all posts by dead sleepers. For real dude get some sleep, you clearly need it. And when you get up, check the date on the food in your bomb shelter, organize your next militia meeting and prove that our govt. was responsible for 9/11. Maybe even out the fake elvis at the games to be the real Elvis....plenty of other more important bats#!& crazy things that your investigative mind is needed for.

  9. How....DO....YOU....KNOW what is or isn't being discussed?

They're asleep at the wheel? Is hurling baseless accusations just a hobby of yours? I don't understand some people.

I was just about to write the same thing...some people, huh? Especially when it has ALREADY been reported that they have opened talks with Fitz.

IMO Stevie 5 years 40 mil.; Fitz 3 years 25 mil and Freddy, 3 for 15 seems fair. Fitz can be extended if he keeps it up, and Freddy will be on the down side unfortunately and Stevie could be resigned for one more good contract.

  10. Stevie was awesome. Gave love to B-lo, said it's where he wants to be for his entire career. Was measured in his responses about the hot start and their chances against NE. Free style rapped.

As for rome, he is an acquired taste. I don't love him, but I like him. And he has been giving Buffalo love forever, had a Bill or 2 on in preseason and will have Stevie as a corespondent for his TV show. The tv show was set up before the season so...he is not a johnny come lately.

  11. IMO the Bills need to:

-Run, run, dink and dunk with an occasional shot down field on offense with a few WC plays that Smith does not miss WIDE OPEN receivers on. O-line must continue the good work.

-Blitz early and play disciplined D-fence. Will need to be creative as well.

The D has been Pretty vanilla thus far. Not positive, but do we know how many times Merriman has actually been turned lose after the QB? I know he's been invisible.

  12. 2010 draft was only half at best of this regimes fault as all evaluations were done by Modrak. Hence him being fired after the draft, not before. It was a bad draft, and perhaps Buddy should have fired him as soon as he was hired. That is on Nix. So maybe 51% buddies fault. If they have a solid draft next year, i will forgive him.

Billsfreak, you almost sound, gulp, a little bit positive on this thread. Still more negative than positive but be careful, you don't want to lose your hater card.

  13. Not raining on my parade, or anyone's for that matter(other than the 19-0 guys who are surely joking). I would say we all want the bills to win this weekend, with the exception of those who will look at a loss this weekend as a way to prove their theories about how bad the Bills suck. I would also say that most of us know it is not too likely.

It's cool, we are getting better, unclinch your rear end and enjoy.

  14. I love how all you pessimists pshaw optimists, or even better yet the realists. The Bills were 4-12 last year, and just played their best two games of this regime's tenure. Meditate, do some yoga, or smoke a fatty but for crying out loud, relax and open your eyes. Nobody thinks this team is super bowl bound, and very few realist are buying in to a playoff run. We were all there, we all remember '08. Oh, you know who wasn't here then? The GM, coach and a majority of the players. When will people stop lumping in Buddy and Chan with the previous decade?

  15. This is a bat signal for the reactionary jumbalaya..........You were only off by two games so far. I did a man up request earlier in the week and got one guy to say he could have stated his point in a better way. Are you man enough? And no, I have not purchased my tickets to Indy yet, and I will not think the bills will beat the Pats yet. So save your 'I told you so's' if the Bills do lose this week end. You however made such a concrete, dumb statement that we all can point and laugh at your ridiculousness.

Unless of course you man up and come on here and say 'My Bad'.

  16. There were a lot of people saying a lot of things they know nothing about. Our WR's are the worst, Our OL is the worst, Fred jackson is average(didn't read it my self but believe it was said). And right now they are saying it's only two games, and Oakland and KC suck. KC does. If the Bills lose next week, they will be saying I told you so, even hoping the Bills do lose so they can be right. To some people, the only win that matters is NE. The Bills could go 14-2 with the 2 losses to NE and they would be pissed. EFF them.

I am realistic, NE is thus far, and until proven otherwise, better than the Bills. But if they lose, they are still Improving and i will not jump. For the people who are seething, waiting and hoping for the Bills to lose so you can get on this board next week and do your 'I told you so dance', just jump off now. Plenty of room on the Detroit bandwagon.

  17. I feel the Bills have a shot, but the D will have to have been holding something back thus far if they have anything for the Pats. The D we have seen so far will get railroaded next week. Because of all this, the slow start by the O today will be unacceptable next week. If Henne went for 400+ Fitz should be able to find some open guys all day. Until they prove otherwise, I will be happy with a good loss. If we manage to win, I will party like it's 1992.

I am Pumped though, should be a good game.

  18. Going into camp, they clearly had a lot of question marks at WR. Perhaps better phrase than worst would have been least proven, or biggest question mark. Our WR are Playing much better than anyone could have predicted based on their resumes. That's a great thing to be wrong on! I definitely was not on their bandwagon, but I think I made it clear that it was due to having to hope soooo many guys had to step up, and it's rare that everyone rises to the challenge.

HHHMMMM I feel like you may be one of the guys who I was thinking of. I will take this as a 'man up' though.

Again, my only point then and now is that Nelson had great hands in a limited role last year, made a lot of tough catches over the middle and in traffic. Clearly something Lee was not able or willing to do. If the coaches had enough confidence in Jones to be #2 over Nelson, I felt pretty good.(I must admit i didn't understand why Nelson was not named #2) We have no superstar wide out yet, but very very deep.

But cheers NoSaint, thanks for manning up.

Yeah, but when you get to med school, you'll be much further ahead. I wish I'd taken one in college.

Lol. Crazy part is, I am just trying to teach PE. VCU requires anatomy for their degree but they only offer the anatomy class the pre med students take. Most people in my program take it at the local CC and transfer the credit to VCU.
