  1. I truely miss hockey. I hope the lunacy is over and they all get back to work. GO SABRES!
  2. Street and Smiths Pro Football preview has an interesting look back at the USFL. One interesting factoid...believe it or not but there is actually one USFL veteran still playing in the NFL. Can anyone guess who it is? And no hints from me...not even a SMALL one!
  3. That was that freezing cold play of game at the Ralph. The epitome of sports professionalism.
  4. This is area is too crowded and bottled up as it is. The idea of have the Olympics here, and all the added security, traffic, etc. would have made living and going to work here a living hell. Plus, of course, there is the point that R Rich brings up that there is the additional tax burden we would have been subjected to. Congrats again, and good luck! London, I think, is much better suited to host this event than NYC.
  5. Congrats Nick. And being a resident of the New York City area, I wish you well and say better you than us!
  6. (sigh) And the times keep a changin.
  7. Figures it would be the kitty-ass Brits who would need FAKE mud on their vehicles!
  8. Nice! My birthday was last week, so I got two Joe F signed mini-helmets...one with the standing buff and one white with the charging buff. I had wanted one each of the older helmets, so that made me VERY happy. LOVE the mini-helmets!
  9. Nice job...I'm right on your heals...by half anyway.
  10. Actually...you misquoted him. The exact quote was: "I am so happy, I like to feel kids again!"
  11. Well, it is a better deal than what the Jets tried to pull, but the state is still pitching in $70 million for infrastructure improvements, and the city throws in their own $100 million for parks, infrastructure and other things.
  12. Have a big, fat, happy one!
  13. And by the way...YOUR avatar gives me the freakin' creeps!
  14. Actually...I've lost like 35 lbs in the last five months (unlike Hurley, who has been on a desert island for a month and lost not a pound!), so now I look more like Sawyer. I just didn't want to brag by changing to his picture.
  15. Are you are suggesting that our obsessive over-analysis of this show may have blinded us to new and critical clues?!? Sweet fancy Moses my good man...you might be right!
  16. Absolutely watch this show...it's the best thing on TV. And it's a good idea to stay away from the stickied thread...it is chock full of spoilers, conjecture and hypotheses. ENJOY!
  17. Dude...hang in there and be strong. The Stadium Wall family is behind you and praying like hell.
  18. Damn! I knew Bobby Bowden was good at recruiting, but this is ridiculous!
  19. Thanks fellow Wallers.
  20. Looks like they're doing the freaking chicken dance!
  21. Nice tip on Porcupine Tree! I listen to a bunch of their clips, and they sound great. Will have to pick those albums up.
  22. The thing about saying a Floyd album is underrated or underappreciated is that it usually only applies to the casual listener. I think more avid Floyd fans recognize the uniqueness and musical wonder of each album. I think you can take each album and draw from it a completely different experience. That's why I'll do an album for a week, and then do another album another week. Meddle is so different from Dark Side which is very different from The Wall. From a mainstream perspective, anything beyond Dark Side and The Wall is underappreciated. From a fans perspective, I think the older stuff (Piper, Uma) might get lost a bit. I just love rotating through all the albums though, including Final Cut and the post-Waters albums (which I thought were very good, especially because they allowed Dave to do his thing).
  23. This is a great discussion about this band. I think the Waters vs. Gilmour debate has raged for decades, and will continue to do so. I think Waters personal issues were undoubtedly the driving force behind so many of PF's songs, though mostly from a lyrical standpoint. Reading Nick Masons recent book, one does discover that the writing of the music was quite collaborative at times. Unfortunately, Roger was less and less willing to accept the creative input of the other band members as time wore on. This resulted in Rick Wright leaving the band immediately following the Wall tour. What is everyone's thoughts on The Final Cut? Personally, I love this album. I think that it is vastly underrated, primarily due to the fact that 1) it is mostly Roger on his political and anti-war soap box, 2) the band was highly fractured during its creation, and 3) it's release was not followed by a tour. According to Mason, Roger did just about everything on this album. Even more interesting (and sad) is the fact that the band members actually came to the studio separately to record their parts, with the parts being mixed together later under Rogers direction. Damn I love this band. PLEASE tour just one more time.
  24. I voted for reading books, because that is more socially acceptable than the rampant surfing for porn which would be the more accurate answer.
