Wow! Now that was a great episode! Some questions answered...some blanks filled in...and a lot to look forward to next week!

The trouble is that we've been saying good bye for three years. I just don't think all that many people care anymore.

Not for the moose it doesn't.

Good looking man that Abe Lincoln. -
Duffs...a large bowl of steaming hot HOT wings, a large bowl of fries with brown gravy, and a nice pitcher of beer. My friends...it just does not get much better than that.

So...Russo and Jin meet as she and her crew are shipwreaked on the island. My question is this...did Jin and Russo have any interaction during the last four seasons? I'm sure they must have, which leads me to wonder if she remembered him or was she so screwed up that she didn't. I don't recall any instance where she (or he) might have indicated that they had met before. Thoughts?

So what part of "Both engines have lost thrust" and "We're going in the Hudson" consist of very limited info? He also had the position and altitude of the plane on his radar, and he was still talking Newark AFTER he lost radar contact. He didn't get it.

That controller should be put on nighttime ground control duty...he just didn't get what was happening. Sully says that they're going in the Hudson and this guy is still giving him available runways at Newark...NEWARK! Sully told him he couldn't make Teterboro, which was just a few miles to the southwest, and this guy says ok, how about Newark?!?! What a dope. Controller: Sully and crew:

Wow...almost 12 full hours after the end of this weeks episode and only one (mine) comment post. Was it really that underwhelming of an episode?

SPOILERS FROM TONIGHTS EPISODE BELOW Tonight was definitely a set up episode for next week...I liked it but nothing blew me away. I knew Jin wasn't dead, so seeing him tonight was just something I had been waiting for. It's clear that when the boat blew up, he was blown clear and into the island's radius of influence. Having Claire's mother inserted like that was just to momentarily throw us...I don't think anyone should be surprised that Ben was the one trying to get Aaron. I was thinking that Miles and Charlotte are both afflicted because they were both born on the island, but then when Juliette starts with the nose bleed, it very well may be the duration of stay that Daniel brought up. Hugo looks pretty good in that jump suit. More thoughts tomorrow as I always come up with more stuff after I've had a chance to sleep on it.

I know Toledo was playing decent D, but the Bulls barely even tried to get shot off from in the paint. They were very content to take then open three's knowing their own D was doing the job. I hope this was their "ugly win." Blech. But I agree with ya...a win is a win, and their 6-1 in conference, and that's friggin' awesome!

My friggin’ head is spinning! All this time travel business is confusing the heck out of me…and I’m loving it! LOL Here are some random thoughts… I’m starting to wonder how old DANIEL is? We’ve come to realize that Richard is apparently ageless, but how about Daniel? He seems to understand a lot about what is going on, plus now that we’re heading in the direction that the white haired woman whom Ben is working for (?) is indeed Daniels mother, I’m wondering how long he and she have been involved in all of this. And…hang on to your hat…could he then be Jacob’s son? Staying on that topic…if Daniel was working for Widmore, and his mother is working with Ben (against Widmore), them what’s going on here? We know those are the two opposing camps, so I think Daniel must have been working for Widmore as a way to actually prevent Widmore from finding the island. Did Daniel and Ben ever run into one another last season…I don’t think so but I can’t be sure, because I would think Ben knows what Daniel is all about. Richard went to Locke as a child to confirm that John told him last night. When he gave young John a chance to pick out the compass and he didn’t, he seemed disappointed, perhaps then doubting what John had told him. It’s so circular it’s painful to think about. Finding out that Widmore was a former other was not all that shocking to me…we knew he had a very very indepth knowledge of the island and now we know where that came from. One has to wonder if perhaps he and Ben had a power struggle on the island at some point and Ben had Widmore shipped off. Miles sensing the dead soldiers was a reminder of his “special power.” I think that is going to come in to play very soon…perhaps by his communicating with the dead John Locke? Something tells me that A-bomb is going to make a reappearance sometime down the road in the future. And lastly…I hope we see more of Ellie (the blonde other holding the gun on Daniel)!!! Oooh...wait! How about this? Could Ellie be Theresa (the vegetative girl). Assuming that Ellie was on the island long enough to slow down her aging, could they be one and the same, with Theresa's brain becoming fried from trying to get back by working with Daniel?

Movie or Television Series endings that sucked....
duey replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I thought the ending was great television, and I think this breakdown was right on. No one wants anything left to the imagination anymore...even when its dead obvious. I just watched the ending again on YouTube and it still made me a nervous wreak, even though I knew what was coming. -
Lost thread people...let's get back on-topic. Thank you.

I agree. And remember, at that time, Richard held out a number of objects looking for John to pick out the "right one." In Wednesday's episode, Richard GAVE John the compass, so the two actions don't match. I believe Richard gave John the compass for it to be his "constant" so that he'll be able to "rejoin" Richard when he needs him to.

LOL Even island-kill (remember...he said it had only been dead for three hours)!
-
That reminds me of something...didn't Charlotte say last season that SHE had been born on the island? Am I remembering that correctly?
-
NICE! I think that's dead on. On a couple of occassions, Miles has blown people off when asked what his deal is. And remember, he see's the dead too. And he seemed to know exactly where to go to get whatever animal it was he brought back for food.

Given that the island has been professed to have a very strong eletro-magnetic pull, each time it moves, it must have some impact on the magnetic field associated with the earth itself. By using the pendulum, it would in theory be possible to determine the location of the magentic field anomaly or disturbance. I'm not a physisist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

I think I'm going to agree with you on that...I can't imagine TWO older women in London being involved in this. Assuming this is correct, then Daniel was a plant on Widmore's ship as he clearly wouldn't be working for Widmore if his mother is leading the other side. Ah, the plot thickens!
