Maybe you'll get lucky like I did today...not on contract...last year I got STMax for free...so I called today, the first agent offered me 5 dollars off a month, I said "can I talk to someone in retention?" I was transferred and the agent was really pleasant. I explained I wanted to stay but my bill was going to go up if I wanted ST, it would be much more than I would want to pay. She said let me see what I can offer you...then magically she said I could get $50.00 off my bill for a year and 6 months of half priced HBO, if I got ST...so I get ST free then a $50.00 credit for the next 6 months. I feel pretty satisfied. BTW this year you don't need Max to stream on another device, you can do that with the regular ticket now. I don't really care for RZ or fantasy channel but the streaming was great with Max, now it's "standard". Cool!.

A similar thing happened to me last year...I needed to reduce my bill and they had nothing to offer me, I asked about the Ticket and they offered a measly amount...so I said I guess I'm going to cancel and go to cable. She said "okay what date to you want to cancel"? Damn, I was caught!!! I gave them a date about a week down the line, and felt like a real chump. I woke up the next morning...NO SERVICE, they turned it off a week early!!! So I called them back and said WTF? Well then all the action started, said they were very sorry, give us a chance to make it right, blah, blah, blah. After a little back and forth I got Sunday Ticket Max for free, all the movie channels for 6 months free (after credits) and 20 off my bill for a year. Now I have to make the call again...I am dreading this.
