The Saints power RB just went down
cmjoyce113 replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do people keep suggesting we trade for a tackle by using on of our RB's? Isn't it clear we won't be doing that? Secondly isn't it clear that Spiller is going to be used in a number of different ways and not primarily carrying the ball? Fred Jackson is 30 and on the down side of his career (for a running back 30 is usually the magic number) and Lynch is in better shape than last year but still has no trade value. So what option do we really have when it comes to trading a RB for a starting OT? I would say none. -
He said the two sides worked all day yesterday and are very close to an agreement. He said that they are now just finalizing escalators and he expects Spiller to sign today. He said worst case scenario it will be the end of the weekend but says they are just about there and just working on the last minute details.

Is this practice open to the public tomorrow morning?

Holy Crap, this team wasn't doing Squats?!?!?!!?

Did you play football or were you just looking in from the outside? If you played I'd love to chat. If not I'd love to know your perspective. -

Actually I went well past parallel and won a local lift a thon 3 years in a row. Our coach Tony Bianchi stressed going past parallel more than anything. I also believe we had the best strength and conditioning coach in all of high school in Jim Bellucco. I am sure that's why it led us to AA State Championships 3 out of 4 years and 6 consecutive Sectional Titles. Parallel wasn't a problem for us. That however wasn't the point. A pro athlete should probably work a bit harder. -

I am about as far as you get from a professional athlete but how was Donte Whitner only squatting 405 for 3 or 4 when graduating from Ohio State and being picked in the top 15 of the NFL Draft? I went to Webster High School in New York and we had at least 8 or 10 guys doing this in HIGH SCHOOL. Not all of them were lineman either. I was only 205 at the time and was doing 405 for 12. (This isn't about me so don't say I'm a tough guy or anything like that) My point is, how does an NFL caliber player only squat 405 for 3 or 4? I can't help but question work ethic in that case. Maybe it's just me. -
There will be no Bill's QB controversy this year...
cmjoyce113 replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure Hennessey started the last or second to last game last year. -
As for the Jets being set at receiver... they only have Holmes and Edwards under contract for this year... it might be something for them to worry about.

Running Back Was a Position of Need
cmjoyce113 replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said I am willing to bet Freddie has 1 maybe 2 good years left in him. I don't think Lynch will ever be the go to guy. If Gailey plans to pound the ball 40 to 50 times a game like we should then we need more than 2 backs. When Pittsburgh won the Superbowl earlier in the decade with Bettis they did just this. They pounded the rock all game and let their QB throw short passes and not lose a game for them. Big Ben didn't have a good year that year, he just didn't have to win games for that team. That is why this was a good pick...we are going to win games by winning T.O.P and wearing teams down. Everyone seems to forget we had 10 guys start on the o-line last year (10 is an estimate) How can we even pass judgment on our line sucks when we didn't play 5 games with the same line in place? I just don't think we are as bad as talked about. -
I could be wrong but don't the Jets have way bigger positions of need? They take a CB with their first pick? Isn't Cromartie and Revis enough? I know everyone thinks its great, Mike and Mike love it saying its a great Rex Ryan pick and guy. That's fine but he might be getting a little cocky? I am sure they have bigger needs than just a corner. Kinda struck me as interesting...anyone else think this?

I didn't really think about this before we picked Spiller but Running Back was a position of need for us. Not as big as some of the other needs but we definitely need a young stud. We cannot count on Lynch. He may or may not be a guy that will ever really produce for us again. If he does great because you need at least 2 good backs to be successful. Secondly everyone forgets that Freddy is approaching age 30. He is 29 right now and he may only have one successful year left in his tank. Maybe not, maybe five years but at the end of the day I don't think we were as set at Running Back before last night than everyone thought. I think it was a good move. If we add good players throughout the rest of the draft we can only get better. I was just thinking about that and it made sense to me, I guess something its something to chew on.

Happy Birthday Marshawn Lynch! Your turning 24 today.

I'd really hope we could make a play on Antowain Smith.

Don't jump on tickets. I took my brother-in-law who has down syndrome a couple of years ago. He had never been to a Bills game so I wanted to make it a big deal. I bought tickets on stubhub in August and got tickets on the 20 2 rows up. They were only $50 for the 4 seats. You might be able to get a good deal if you check that out and get your kids a good experience of sitting in some great seats. I can't imagine why they wouldn't do kids day it has been nothing but a success every year.

For the last couple of years week 3 of the preseason has been an away game or in Toronto. Week 3 is typically when the starters play most. Finally we aren't closing out the preseason and watching Jauron not play a starter for a single snap. At least as a season ticket holder we will get a little more of what we pay for than in past years. I for one am excited! And yea yea I know there is another thread about the preseason schedule but this is about week 3 in particular.

Greatest Games in Bills History

With worse losses has to be Ronnie Harmon -
He has a visit with the Bills for Monday/Tuesday per Adam Schefter.

Josh Reed visits the Pats.

I guess I don't understand how you think the Bills are all about marketing. I think they are legitimately trying to win this year whether any of us like the moves or not. There is no F-in marketing ploy this year. They brought in a coach no one wanted for 10 years, a GM nobody thought of in his 30 years in the leauge and haven't made any moves for players outside of Cornell. So I guess how do you think it's the same old Bills? They aren't just trying to sell tickets this year! -
I finally feel like we have people in charge of this organization that aren't just trying to make fans happy and sell tickets. Buddy Nix wasn't a popular pick, Chan Gailey wasn't a popular pick and so far we haven't signed some huge name to make fans all giddy. T.O. was that move last year and in the past we overpaid lineman, traded for Drew Bledsoe, Rob Johnson, etc. and now it seems like they might really be trying to put a team together that THEY feel they can win. I have no idea what approach Gailey is going to take with the offense or defense (don't just say 3-4 because you don't know what the exact plans are). With that being said I think they are getting and keeping players they feel fit there scheme. I am trusting them because everything else this team has tried the last 10 years and gotten us no where. I am glad that we are signing no bodies and doing what they feel they need to to build depth and a team they think they can win with. Finally it seems like selling tickets is on the back burner and winning games might be #1 in line. Oh and yea I did renew my season tickets over the weekend and never thought twice about it.

The reason they have us taking Kindle is because he is a true OLB... the other two are ILB. With Poz and Kawika we are set inside I would assume. That's why I would guess they have things set up this way.

Bills line up meeting with C.J. Spiller
cmjoyce113 replied to bobcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CJ Spiller will be lucky to be there at 9. There is no way he falls to pick #41 in the draft. -
I'm pretty sure I have it on DVD just not the greatest quality. I'll check when I get home. I have close to 1000 games on vhs and or dvd.

This is just dumb.
