  1. I believe EJ can be good. I have seen him at the end of games change his demeanor and drop all the pretense he holds on to through out the rest of the game. At that point its as though he knows if he makes a mistake it will not hurt his team, they may have lost anyway. I think EJ has too many voice in his head he is trying to please. People say over coached but I think he is just trying to please everyone. He looked better last year and I believe this year the pressure got to him. If he works hard and shows in practice what he needs to do he will get another chance, if Orton gets hurt he is the next man up. He is a good kid and I hope that he learns to difference between absorbing information into his play and changing everything about what makes him good to please his coaches.
  2. Yes because each of those QBs went on to great things on other teams. They were not good or they would have played again in the NFL. Look at all the "Journey Men" QBs out there and none of them none(who ever really started again) were one of those Bills QBs. A good line makes up for a average QB, a Good/Great QB can make up for a bad line, if you have both then great, if you have neither blame which ever. The Bills QBs just weren't good not that they didn't have time to develop. Fitz was the best one they have had since Flutie and he was the 7th rounder. Fans tend to align themselves with a player and not think objectively about him. You have fans right now arguing that EJ should have more time to develop even though there is a more capable option and the rest of the team can win now. It makes little sense, either you want the team to win or you want a player to "hopefully" develop at the expense of everyone else on the team and the fans hopes.
  3. If he beats the Lions the team has a shot at 6-2 right there he will be a hero to the fan base. Having reached the bye week with the total amount of wins from the last 3 seasons. If he breaks the playoff drought hold on to your horses, he may really have found his team.
  4. I bet they were watching practice and seeing how much better the ball was being throw by Orton and that is why during game day they looked so upset know that Orton would have gotten them the ball correctly.
  5. Can you blame him? He has been shafted by every team and fan base he has played for why create relationships only to have them ruined. However, if he plays well he have the crowd and team behind him. Also, he may have been watching how much better he was than EJ and thinking "Here we go again, I am better than this guy and because he was a 'first round pick' they are playing him?!" How disheartening does that have to be?
  6. I too was surprised by the offense opening with throwing the ball. And the line is certainly larger than Houston's defensive line, that said, they also were playing people in new positions and may not have been comfortable saying size is all that matters. Remember this was CK first start and in a new position. But regardless of how big your 5 guy on the line are they most likely are not going to push eight guys around. Hackett now has a chance to show if he is good or not and not be limited by the QB. As many have stated when both Tuel and Lewis were in the lineup last year the team had a far more professional looking offense. The offense was in games with New England twice and KC when they were undefeated that should tell you something about what Hackett can do. Regardless, now there will be no excuses for him and we will truly know how he game plans.
  7. Hackett has receivers open all over the field. Take a look: http://www.wgr550.com/JW-All-22-Review-Bills-Texans/20015538 How do you look at that and say "fire Marrone"?
  8. IDK how you can look at that and argue it is not a good move by Marrone.
  9. ^ This! I do not get the sacrifice everything to hopefully develop EJ mentality. "He is just trying to save his job", and everyone else's! If the team starts winning under Orton that is one less thing on EJ's plate if he ever comes back in, picking this this franchise out of its losing spiral. He was a project ... let that project take place behind the scenes. True but they can only block so many players at once. I have a feeling if the Bills go up with a TD after that fitz pick to begin the 2nd half instead of that int they run they rest of the game.
  10. Actually its not. Had two or three of those passes hit its very possible they would drop more into coverage and open up the running lanes. We do not know what the game planning was.
  11. If they think he actually shows progress then yes they can. He didn't say they can not win with EJ he said they didn't get the production that need. If he's all of a sudden lighting up in every practice and Otron is horrible(don't see that happening) he makes the same statement he made about Lewis last year when he promoted him ahead of Tuel. People seem to disregard how bad he was in training camp the preseason this year. I am guessing they will be able to see a change if there is one.
  12. So it is your belief that if EJ stayed in they would rattle off a 11-1 record going forward?
  13. No, as has been pointed out switching QBs too late is a Bills move. This move shows they will not sacrifice the team if a player in not ready just because he is a first round pick. You should be applauding that.
  14. They tried and the Vet got hurt. The only other option would have been to keep Leinart but lets be honest, he was hardly a "seasoned" vet. Who would you have brought in?
  15. How about knowing what you actually have. Upside, seriously?! JP has more upside, Johnson has more upside, EJ has more upside, not if they don't get the game. Basically what you are saying is he is an unknown and he "might" play better. Right now we just need a player we know can play the position and EJ cannot at the moment.
  16. I was wishing EJ looked more like Fitz. Such a shame we could have Fitz teaching EJ.
  17. Orton doesn't need time to learn defenses as he has 9 years of watching them. Learning the game plan for Detroit is all he needs to worry about.
  18. Yeah ... play EJ who cares what the w-l record is at the end of the season.
  19. He deserved it. Palmer, Flynn, and Shaub and always starting the rookie.
  20. Let's hope they can obtain leads like they did against the Texans. I always felt this was the problem for Fitz. Force him to win the games for you, if the defense was what it is now I have a feeling he and chan would still be here.
  21. Actually he would be saving everyones jobs.
  22. This move allows everyone to see if the problem was truly EJ or others. If they continue to perform badly you can start looking at other area. However, if they offense really takes off there will be a lot EJ needs to process.
  23. The point is that you are saying he was replaced by Tebow because he was playing poorly. He was replaced by Tebow mostly because the defense was not playing well and the coach wanted a "spark". I am not saying he is the greatest QB since Montana just there is context with everything.
  24. We are not talking about most likely's these were your requirement of what you would do. So, would you fire him if he got the team to 10-6 but missed the playoff after this switch? And even though they won the first two games EJs game was not what I would call great outings. It has been 4 weeks of at best OK to horrible qb play.
