  1. Great googally-moogally!
  2. I went to the Bills - Steelers game two years ago at the Ralph and was around a bunch of Steelers fans, with no problems at all. They were fine and I had fun chatting with them. It was a good game, although the Bills lost in overtime.
  3. Lol I think that keeping Potter makes a lot of sense in terms of field position. You make the opposing team drive 80 yard for a TD and if the defense gets a 3 and out, the Bills will start on offense around their 35 or so.
  4. Apparently both the Dolphins and Jets are having problems. Good news for Mario Williams and the Bills. I'm looking forward to seeing Sanchez, Tebow and whoever starts for the Fish, on the ground a lot this season. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/14429/hunter-ive-got-flaws http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-miami-dolphins-notebook-0819-20120818,0,1461123.story?track=rss Let's hope the Pats* are having the same problems.
  5. The Pats* signing Demps makes it more likely the Bills keep Potter for kickoffs. Demps can't hurt the Bills if Potter keeps kicking the ball out of the back of the endzone.
  6. In this case, I think it did.
  7. Thank you for posting your Dad's artwork. I always love looking at the artwork on old programs and I appreciate your Dad's style and artistry. My condolences on your loss, I just lost my Dad a couple of months ago and I miss him every day. BTW, my screen name is from a long time ago and has nothing to do with losing my Dad. I always say I've been a Buffalo Bills fan for over 35 years, so I must need therapy. I blame my Dad for getting season tickets for the Bills when I was 4. : )
  8. Fugly, mighty fugly.
  9. Yeah, I hate to say it, but I see this as a crass marketing ploy. The Bills sold a bunch of jerseys last year because the fans were so happy to get rid of the old ugly ones. Now Nike comes around and the Bills chose to make one noticeable tweak to try and get a lot of the fans that just bought jerseys to go out and by the "new and improved" one. Just buy a t-shirt and save your self the money and angst.
  10. I'm not going to shed a tear for the guy. He held out to get his money, he got paid and then we moved on. I am disappointed that his injury will likely cause a bidding war for Demetrius Bell now. I was hoping the longer Bell remained unsigned, the greater the chances he would make a counter offer to the Bills and a deal could be worked out. Remember, there is no "I" in team.
  11. Yeah, there's no way that Buddy will give up something to get Tebow. He's not a better option than Thigpen. Being a good guy, good teammate and very dedicated only gets you so far at QB. You need accuracy and a quick delivery. The Fish are desperate and they will sign him over Alex Smith to put fannies in the seats. This bodes well for the Bills for years to come.
  12. Why is it that some of the folks on this board are always looking backward? I saw another post that suggested we re-sign Evans and Maybin. Fletcher is a good player who will not want to sign as a backup. Sheppard is a good young player who is developing and will be a quality starter. Bringing Fletcher in would stunt Sheppard's development. Barnett is a veteran voice in the linebacker group, and he's already a starter. He can help the younger players along. Same with Morrison. London Fletcher would be redundant.
  13. Gotta love anytime you can work in a Pulp Fiction reference.
  14. I think the Bills would be interested in resigning Bell, but he is smart to wait to gauge his value in free agency. He is a decent player for the Bills with upside, but his inability to stay healthy and the fact that some team will be willing to overspend for him make it unlikely he stays with the Bills. A more likely scenario is for the Bills to draft an OT in the first round. It should improve the play at that position and would make more sense than trying to resign Bell for more money than he's worth. Hairston will most likely end up being the swing tackle next year.
  15. Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about Hull's reaction and it makes me respect him even more than before. Norwood won a decent number of games for the Bills before that kick and a few after that kick. Was he the best kicker ever? Absolutely not, but he was a good player. There were a lot of reasons the Bills didn't win Super Bowl XXV. Norwood gets dumped on because his miss was the most dramatic and most memorable play. There were mistakes made by the coaches, by players on offense and defense. None of the Bills hold Norwood responsible for the loss, why should any fan (or someone who claims to be a fan)?
  16. Ralph just donated $1 million to UB's School of Medicine, annually donates money and supports donations to the Western New York Food Bank, contributes to other charities in the area and has kept the Bills in Buffalo when he could have made more money elsewhere. Is the guy a saint, no. But he supports charities in the area and does good deeds. He can't do everything nor should he be expected to.
  17. Exactly correct. That is why he will not sell the team while he is alive because then he would have to pay BOTH capital gains tax on the profit (for argument's sake $800 million - $25,000) and then when he dies, his estate would have to pay estate tax on the value of his assets he owns at death (minus any property he bequeaths to his wife which falls under the marital exemption). (And no, if he bequeaths the team to his wife it won't help because then it will still be subject to estate tax on her death.) Now 9 pages of speculation on a teenager's tweet.
  18. I went for a run and wore my Road ID dog tag during the game. It has a quote from Winston Churchill on it that I got from a Stadium wall poster (Sorry, I don't remember who) "If you're going through hell, keep going." I'm wearing this baby every game this year!
  19. LOL! p.s. I think it's spelled Chaplin.
  20. Nope, now we can stop talking about the guy. He doesn't deserve the time or effort. We'll just remember him when we count down the list of really bad Bills draft picks.
  21. Neither do muppets. Coincidence?
  22. Same here, I always park in a private lot on Timothy Russert Highway (20a) and walk over. I stay away from the cluster f*** that is the stadium lots.
  23. Nice find, I forgot about that commercial. I like the pinwheeling Raiders running back. The music's from The Last of the Mohicans. And yes I am a movie geek.
