  1. I agree. This article is the only place I've seen mentioning Niagara Street. There isn't anything there worth connecting a stadium to (I work nearby there) and I think it would be more costly do to something on that site.
  2. Depending on where a stadium may be located downtown, there may not be a long list of improvements needed. A stadium near the First Niagara center or at the Perry Street project site would have decent access to 190. Those sites also would have decent access to 33 through Oak and Elm Streets cutting through the city. Both are 3 lanes wide and have timed traffic lights that allow for a decent flow of traffic. On game days traffic cops could be used to quicken the travel time from 33 to the stadium area. There may be a need for some re-routing as both streets near 190 and the ramps onto and off of 33 would need to be widened, but these are not insurmountable. Route 5 access from the south would be more challenging. I don't know if Ohio Street and the bridge there can be widened and recontructing the bridge over Michigan Ave may not be enough to increase traffic flow substantially. A stadium near City Hall would have some access to 190 and route 5 that would make travel in from those routes relatively easy. Again, the use of traffic cops on game days would help. Travel from 33 would be a lot harder though and I don't know what might help that problem.
  3. This is a long article and was in Artvoice, of all places, but it makes some interesting arguments. I'm in favor of putting a new stadium downtown after living in Baltimore for years and seeing how Camden Yards and the Ravens stadium helped to expand the rejuvenated Inner Harbor area. See what you think about it. http://artvoice.com/...9/news_analysis
  4. His doctor is not going to say "boo" because of doctor patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. That's why pro athletes often say that they were just following their doctor's orders. The doc is never going to dispute it because he/she can't without putting their own careers in jeopardy.
  5. It will be an utter travesty if, with everything that is going on in downtown Buffalo these days, they put the stadium in Niagara Falls.
  6. I took me until a couple of months ago to stop calling him Marquise Grissom. I'll probably start doing it again now!
  7. So much for my theory of a speeding violation.
  8. Apparently, L.A. and Chicago are lobbying to get the NFL to move the draft to their cities for 2015. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000346686/article/goodell-chicago-la-mayors-pursuing-2015-nfl-draft
  9. I think that the name should be kept as Ralph Wilson Stadium until there are either massive renovations or a new stadium is built. I think it would be fitting to have a big statue of Ralph Wilson put at the entrance of any new stadium or at a renovated Ralph/"insert new corporate name here" stadium.
  10. The cost of the land is not at the top of considerations in making this decision. Land is cheap in Buffalo too. New York State has committed $1 billion dollars to rejuvenate Buffalo. That money, along with what is currently happening with Canalside and HarborCenter, has the potential to get the job done. I have a hard time believing that anyone that the state has appointed to the new stadium advisory committee is going to recommend they locate a new stadium in Niagara Falls.
  11. Marrone just needs to push the time of the meetings back so that Dareus and Nicks have time to get there. Problem solved.
  12. This is good news, but I honestly thought that funky looking link was going to lead to a Peter Pan picture!
  13. This is an interesting article of how to analyze the statistics of these wide receivers and make a bit of a comparison. I'm not a metrics geek, but I liked how they broke down the receptions. Personally, I'd like the Bills to look at Evans, but I feel good that if they decide to go WR with their first pick, there will be a good one available. http://www.rotoworld...op-4-wr-metrics
  14. Rational post. End of thread.
  15. They may not need to. A lot of the teams in front of the Bills are going to be taking QBs and I think the Bills may have their pick of several receivers. This mock draft article paints a nice picture for the Bills at #9. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/2014-nfl-mock-draft-dream-draft-tennessee-titans-210100926--nfl.html?soc_src=copy
  16. Dolphins fans didn't show up at a home game to support their team? Say it ain't so!
  17. We already do. I think the OP is saying "if we're going to suck, let's suck with a purpose!"
  18. That's what 10 yard punts get you.
  19. It's looking more like this was a tragedy and that the guy got into a vehicle that looked like his by mistake. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/arrowhead-stadium-parking-lot-death-ruled-homicide-kansas-city-chiefs-kyle-van-winkle-120413 For all of the bold talk on this forum, it sometimes helps to wait before passing judgment. The media does not always get the story right the first (second, or third) time.
  20. Yeah, I was supremely dissapointed they took Maybin over Orakpo. I have to admit not even thinking about Matthews at that point. Good thing I'm not a paid scout.
  21. Yeah, really nobody on the market is going to get Mario money, that doesn't mean they're all affordable. I like Orakpo, but I don't see the Bills pursuing him.
  22. I'm glad you all had a great time and with due respect to eball, who's posts I enjoy very much, who cares who you did it for. You have the memories of taking your wife and son to see your favorite teams and your son has some cool photographs of him and his parents that he'll cherish the rest of his life. It's a win-win. And kudos to you for hanging in there for the first half. My wife and 5 1/2 year old daughter bailed after the first quarter, the cold was just too much for both of them. We planned for this possibility by taking two cars. We were in the Tops Family section in the East End Zone and did not have any issues. Next time I will bring binoculors though for when the teams are at the other end of the field!
  23. I think a lot of people on this board have unrealistic expectations for a rookie QB. If the guy is not like Wilson, Newton, Kaepernick (who was a 2nd year QB), then many folks think we should draft another one. I've liked what I have seen from E.J. and hopefully he gets back and starts the last 5 games of this season. His stats for his first 5 games are comparable to the first 5 games for Roethlisberger and Flacco. He has shown that he can be a capable QB in the league and has the skills to grow into a good (and possibly great) starter. If he doesn't get hurt, the Bills' record is likely 2 - 3 wins better at this point. You don't give up on a QB who has played as well as he has after one year.
