This past season has proven that this team needs depth in the trenches, and a valid pass rush. When you have a starting left guard playing left tackle, then center, then back to left guard so the right guard can cover the center position then the team has depth issues. When the team has absolutely NO pass rush then its an issue. Take the Redskins game as an example. First time Shanahan was shut out, and the Bills had 9 sacks. Fitz looked great! The D looked great! My opinion, draft pass rusher, or best lineman available (Offense or Defense). If the defense can stop the opposing offense it would take a lot of pressure off of Fitz. Chan wouldn't feel the need to pass all of the time, and he could better utilize Fred and CJ with the run/screen game. Solidify the line and this team becomes a strong contender, immediately. If my name were Buddy Nix I would do the same thing in the 2012 draft that I did int he 2011 draft, minus the running back (Johnny White) pick. I've also said that the Bills need draft picks that cans start right away. They need immediate contributors.

I get it. My problem is that I don't watch college football. I couldn't tell you what would make Ryan Tannehill a good NFL Quarterback. I go by mostly what guys like Mike Mayock says. I also don't listen to the Kiper/McShay combo, I personally find them in the Skip Bayless league of revolting on air personalities that say stupid crap just to get a rise out of the masses. Bottom line is this, Marv Levy said that, as an employee of a NFL Franchise, if you listen to the fans, you're gonna end up joining them. I do find some of the man love for these college athletes entertaining though. I remember when Dan LeFevour was the hot commodity on this site. Where is he now? Is he even in the league? haha. Buddies first two drafts are coming together nicely. Last years draft class alone is remarkable. For a team and a GM that believes in building through the draft I feel pretty good about the upcoming draft. I hope they can keep some of their free agents, and I hope that Fitz can be a better leader. I seriously think that Fitz is going to be the guy for the next few years.

None of us have anything to do with this franchise, except for rabid fandom. We have ZERO input as to who this team drafts. So just stop already. They have highly paid professionals whose sole job it is to evaluate stats and watch these kids play. Buddy, Doug Whaley, Chan and the rest of the coaching/scouting staff will run this draft like they normally do (good or bad, depending on your opinion). What no one in the "fire ..." threads realizes is that if they did another total overhaul of the coaching staff then no one with ANY shred of credibility as a coach is going to want to come to Buffalo to coach.
