Drastically over valued players in this years draft -
HeHateMe replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree on Evans, I think he will be a beast. Somewhat agree on Ebron but wouldn't be surprised if he plays up to his potential either. I'm concerned about his drops. I think both are perfect for today's NFL. It's all about exploiting mismatches. -
He has been dinged up quite a bit for the past few seasons.. I think the Bills grab a RB this in somewhere in the 4-6 round range. I like Fred but he is ancient in RB years. Yes I know how many NFL seasons he has under him but he was also playing ball prior to those. I think he will still put out a productive season this year and maybe 1 more next year. I'd get a guy this year to be his replacement and for some grooming.

I'd rather trade back and get more picks in a deep draft. This team isn't a rookie WR away from anything... I like Watkins but is he the same as a Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, AJ Green? They are all much bigger than him. If I'm giving up picks it is for a freak at that position... or a stud QB. If they do trade up for Watkins they can't give away next year's first rd pick.

Fred with CJ's athleticism would be a hall of famer. Fred is the better pure RB but is getting up there in age and has injury issues. I think what has kind of been forgotten about is how much better CJ was used under Gailey. Getting him the ball in space and splitting him out wide, a lot more short passes and screens too. Yea the O-line wasn't as good but a lot of what I saw was poor play design. CJ isn't going to do well vs a stacked line. I think you have to run him out of passing sets more than what we have seen to create more space. He was excellent in these situations 2 years ago. Last season it seemed whenever CJ was in the back field, the Bills were going to just hand him the ball via read option. The defense knew this every time and just jumped the run. They have to be more creative with him and he has to be a little better in pass protection as well to mix it up. Add the lingering ankle issue, worse O-line play, and obvious play-calling and you get the 2013 season. Neither backs have been good in short yardage.. How many times did Fred get stuffed at the goal line last year? It was pretty bad.

I'l admit I was very high on EJ in last years draft and happy the Bills pulled the trigger on him. I had no problem with them trading back and getting the QB they wanted. That said, he will have to improve A LOT to make me believe he can really be the long term answer at the position. Rookie QBs struggle, that's a given. The good ones show you glimpses though that really makes you start believing in the guy. I rarely saw anything last year that would suggest he is the guy. Some good throws, a lot of bad ones. Down field accuracy and decision making need to improve leaps and bounds. He needs to stop playing so damn passive too. He only played 10 games and was injured the rest but no matter how good you are if you can't stay on the field - what does it matter? I wouldn't mind drafting another QB after round 1 this year.

ESPN Poll regarding Buffalo Bills
HeHateMe replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Meh.. bad team will be bad is how the average NFL fan thinks.. No real reason for them to think otherwise. -
No excuse for not securing Buffalo ownership
HeHateMe replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't he have just ensured a deal upon his death and not before it so it wouldn't trigger this double taxation? I think that may be what the OP is talking about? If possible that would make the most sense to avoid throwing money away and ensuring the Bills stay in town. -
CJ Spiller is an Outstanding Football Player
HeHateMe replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say he is an outstanding athlete that happens to play football. He has poor vision, isn't a good blocker, tries to bounce everything outside, and refuses to take the yards that are there since he avoids contact whenever he can. He does however make some big plays that can turn the game for the team. Behind a dominant O-line, he can put up some great numbers. Behind a mediocre to bad line, you have this year's Spiller. And yes I know he is playing through injury but that shouldn't affect his vision/decision making. -
Lol wow. You obviously didn't watch Seattle last year... you couldn't bring along a QB slower than Seattle last season. They babied him and he wasn't very good early on.. Took him several games to get going and he finished strong.. EJ has played in what 4.5 games?

They lost their shot at the playoffs in the 2nd half of the Cleveland game..
-
This ^ They got stuffed 2 straight times and were not going to run vs the KC goal line front.. It was a called Run / Pass depending on the defense so Tuel decided pass. A guy is wide open in the end zone 8 yards in front of Tuel and we are blaming Hackett again, why? It was a bad predetermined decision by Tuel to throw to TJ instead of the open man.

We will loose to the saints by how many points???
HeHateMe replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This game is in NO, one of the toughest places to play.. I don't see how we win this game. Would take a lot of breaks, punt return TD or pick 6 and winning the turnover battle. Somewhat similar to last game. Without Jimmy Graham the odds are a little better for the Bills but NO still has the edge. -
Bills Coaching oopsies this week
HeHateMe replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm happy they won but the bigger blunder was at the end of the half time management again... seems like we say that every week. Protect your lead at that point since you get the ball to start the 2nd half... instead 3 straight incomplete passes. Miami didn't have to use a single TO. Drive down the field and get a TD. -
Official 2nd Half Thread - Bills and Fins
HeHateMe replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad to get the W but why are we passing 3 straight times to end the half? Should have been conservative there with the lead. -
Are the Bills better than the Jets? If so, why?
HeHateMe replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're better than the Jets, and the Dolphins, and the Pats.. we just can't ever beat any of them.. -
The 13 years comment was to point out how ludicrous a 12-4 finish would be. Aside from that, what about the things that matter on the field then?... a practice squad QB starting with a whopping 2 games played in the NFL, rookie coaches learning as they go, poor special teams play that has already cost them games, and a defense that has been mediocre so far giving up big plays and unable to get off the field on 3rd and long. I like a lot of what I have seen from this team so far and think they really can compete in a year or two. That said, this isn't the year in my opinion.

The Dolphins are not better than the Bills

24-13 Fins.. -
The culture if losing is tough to break... You can say it doesn't exist but it surely does. Anyway my point was more towards the QB situation, rookie coaches, and suspect play on the field especially defensively and with special teams. Nothing says 10 game winning streak to me, does it to you?
-
This board would have imploded if they did that and didn't get it. You would all call for Marone's head on a stake.
-
No I don't think a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 13 years will run off 10 straight wins with a practice squad / rookie QB, rookie coaches, a bad defense, and poor special teams. 6-10
-
I said Team's fans.. which is fine but I just think this team needs to prove itself before you can pick them against teams that they already lost to. And against a team that hasn't lost a game..
-
Just hoping they can win some more games and that EJ comes back healthy and progresses.. Playoffs are not realistic in my view but I'm not saying you shouldn't hope for that... You can say the Miami, Jets, Steelers, Falcons, even Chiefs games are winnable but those teams fans are marking the Buffalo game as a win too.
