Exactly. The fastest 100m time in the history of female athletics is 10.49 by Joyner. THE HISTORY OF FEMALE ATHLETICS. Marquise Goodwin ran a 10.24 100m in High School. Marquise goodwin is 5’10” (on a good day) and weighs 180lbs (on a good day). Hes a tiny guy for NFL standards. He still benched 225 13 times at the combine. Joyner was 5’7 128lbs. She wouldnt have been able to bench 225 once. Lets get one of the largest female sprinters. Marion Jones. Marion Jones ran a 10.65 100m sprint. 5th fastest in the history of female athletics. Shes 5’10 150lbs. Marion Jones would most likely not be able to put up 225lbs a single time. So you have a 0.0001% elite of elite female athlete in Marion Jones who is the same height as Goodwin, weighs 30lbs less, runs slower, and cant bench 225 a single time. Which of those two is getting drafted? Marquise Goodwin is an OK/good NFL player. But hes not even among the elite NFL players at his position. So where would Marion Jones stand in that spectrum? And Marion Jones is at the absolute PINNACLE of what a female athlete can be physiologically when you take into account her size and speed. And she cant even match up to a Marquise Goodwin type player. That should put things in perspective.

Jim Leonhard weighed in at the combine at 190lbs. Ran a 4.6 40 and benched 225 19 times. No 5’8 female can do all of the above (which by the way is nothing special for NFL talent): she can be 5’8 and run that time, sure. But she’ll end up benching 225 maybe 5 times. And thats being extremely optimistic. For her to have the speed necessary to run that time (which isnt that fast for NFL) she’ll have to be leaner (simply look at what female sprinters weigh). A female isnt physiologically engineered to do both at that level. If you want a female to put up 225 19 times she would have to be a monster. I honestly dont even know if its possible. Id have to look at female powerlifters around the world to even get a point of reference. Unfortunately, a powerlifter isnt the ideal bodytype candidate to play in the NFL. Unfortunately theres no way around this argument regardless of what side of the bell curve youre looking at. Genetics and physiology are incontestible here.

More wins in 2018, Browns or Bills?
bobobonators replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are so many factors to consider with these two teams that i can see a very large swing on W/L depending on how things play out for either team. I can see both the Browns and Bills being bad enough to win only 4 games (worst case scenario). I can see either team being good enough to win up to 9 games (best case scenario). Like always it comes down to the QB and injuries. -
Im not denying females can be large. Its a strength/speed issue. The taller the female the slower she is. Elite Female athletes are already naturally slower than elite male athletes. We’re talking about a league where one to two tenths of a second is the difference between making it and not making it. Also, and above all else, is the stength issue. There are large female athletes for sure. But how strong are they compared to their male counterparts. Thats the key here. Could a 6’5 250lb female take a hit from a 200lb safety? I guess. But she would never be in the league to begin with bc that 6’5 250lb TE female wouldnt be able to run faster than her male counterparts to make that TE spot. Could a 5’9 140lb female be fast enough to play CB/WR/RB. On paper maybe. But in reality she wouldnt be strong enough and weigh enough to absorb the hits she would take. Unfortunately, physiologicaly speaking, women cant be big, strong, and fast all at the same time (strictly at NFL comparison standards of big/strong/fast). Theyre not built that way. If theyre really fast theyre going to be way too small for the NFL to absorb hits. If theyre big (mainly tall enough) theyre going to be way too slow/weak for the NFL.

Thank you good Sir. People simply seem to forget basic physiological differences between males and females. The ignorance is mind-blowing. “Male athletes have a higher ratio of muscle mass to body weight, which allows for greater speed and acceleration. This explains why female speed records in running and swimming are consistently 10 percent slower than men’s and why, on average, they have two thirds the strength of men. “ The last sentence there is key above all else. Can a woman be fast. Of course. However shes going to be REALLY weak compared to her NFL counterpart of the same size, not even addressing those that are almost twice her size. The NFL isnt like many other sports where a special skill can overcome basic, fundamental physiological differences. The special skills in the NFL (speed, strength, size) are the very things that differentiate males/females physiologically. To argue against that is pretty foolish. There are 3 positions in the NFL that dont focus on those 3 traits: Kicker, Punter, and Quarterback. Like i said, i can see a female kicker/punter. In a world full of unicorns I can also see a female QB if she has a strong enough arm and amazing hand eye coordination/accuracy. But we’re far away from that happening. How many male QB’s have amazing accuracy and decent arm strength and still dont make the NFL: 99% of them dont.

Haha. Lets break this down bc it really shouldnt be THIS complicated. Are there fast women in this world? Yes. Are there big women in this world? Yes. Are there strong women in this world? Yes. Now that those disclaimers are out of the way lets stop the nonsense. Some of the fastest women in the history of the world (Jeter, Jones, Joyner) have weighed between 128lbs and 150. Yes theyre fast. We’re talking about all-time fast. How strong are they? How big are they? A 128lb woman would DIE on a football field. Name me a single NFL player that weighs less than 150 (including kickers). Those sizes could only be used at WR or maybe CB. LB’s or safeties that weigh 220lbs+ would obliterate them. Lets go on opposite side of spectrum. Lets find a woman that is 6’5 and weighs 250. Can that woman run a 4.6 40? Can she put up 225lbs 20+ times?

Lets make sure we’re discussing the same thing. This young lady is a better athlete than probably 90% of the male population. But thats not what we’re comparing her to. NFL players are the elite of the elite. So we’re not comparing her to the average male. We’re comparing her to the elite male athlete. Its not even close. This has nothing to do with sex. Its a pure numbers game. Its biology. Its physics.

Im not skewing anything. You said not every player in the NFL is 240. The average weight of an NFL player is greater than 240 (slightly). So yeh not every player in the nfl is 240, but you act as if my statement was based in some story book world. Less than 1% of college football players make it to the NFL for a reason. Yeh we can find a 6’4 woman that weighs 250. But Can she put up 225lbs 20 times? Very Likely not. Can she run a 40 in 4.6 seconds? Very likely not.

Nice. I can see elite female athletes performing at a lower level football program. The elite male athletes on that level arent really the norm. Once you go up in levels and eventually get to the NFL the elite male athlete is the absolute norm and no longer the exception. I like to think of it as follows: Think of small players in the NFL current or past. Players like Marquise Goodwin, Steve Smith Sr, Honey Badger, Sproles. Etc Think of how small those players look relative to their peers. When you watch them on TV the size difference is noticeable. Now take into account that every single one of those “small” players is at LEAST 170lbs with most being around 180+. All of them are great NFL players and that requires them to utilize every ounce of their frame. Now, imagine those “small” players listed above being even SMALLER, weighing 40-50lbs less. Some of the lightest players in the NFL in recent history have been in the 160’s. Those players are extemely rare yet the reality remains that a 160lb male is still substantially larger and stronger than someone like Harris who comes in weighing 130 max. A 120-140lb player wouldnt last in the NFL in any position other than K or P.

Really? Thats what you got from that? Fine. Find me any female in the world that can weigh even close to 200lbs and run a 4.4 40 its simple physics. Force = m*a. The fastest female sprinters in the world (which is the kind of speed that would be needed to even have a shot at the NFL as a woman) come in weighing well less than 150lbs, with most weighing in the 120’s. Males can perform at those olympic speeds weighing in at 180lbs +. Who wins that Force equation? Males every time. How long will a player weighing 120lbs last in a league with guys weighing 220lbs+
-
Why would they forfeit? Though a male should still have an advantage wrestling is a more even playing field bc they have to make weight so the size advantage is somewhat negated. Then technique can come into play. A sport like the NFL is completely different. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any female in the world that can weigh in at 230-240 and run a 4.4 40 time.

awesome story. Happy to see her excel like she has. I could see maybe a hanful of elite female athletes playing in college on smaller schools/divisions. No way a female ever makes it to the NFL in a position other than maybe kicker. NFL is about combining speed, size, and strength; three things males are genetically superior in on average. An elite male athlete (which is what is required to play in the NFL) will always be faster and stronger than an elite female athlete. The competition among elite male athletes is already so high that just a miniscule dropoff in talent is the difference between having an NFL career and watching from the couch on Sundays.

Hes in the public eye and getting paid millions. It comes with the territory. The story isnt fiction. It happened. He needs to deal with it (as he has).
