are we done talking about fitz!!
bobobonators replied to 13player's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm convinced there must be something in the water up there in Buffalo that just diminshes the logical side of the brain, because to complain about Fitzy's play this season is an absolute !@#$ing abomination. In five games, (two less than other QB's on this list), compare: Fitz: 240yds/gm; 12td; 5int Drew Brees with two more games: 291.8yds/gm; 16dt; 11int; Peyton Manning with one more game: 319yds/gm; 13td; 2int Vince Young with two more game: 142yds/gm; 9td; 2in Tom Brady with two more games: 228yds/gm; 12td; 4int Matt Schaub... : 256yds/gm; 9td; 5int Eli Manning...255yds/gm; 14td; 11int Aaron Rodgers...251yds/gm; 12td; 9int AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON.. www.nfl.com Alphadawg, get a freaking clue, the numbers speak for themselves. And what do all of the QB's on the list above have that Fitz doesn't have? A freaking supporting cast. Fitz is playing with players where at best, maybe 2, would be starters on the teams of those qb's listed above. So your constant bitching about fitz is NAUSEATING. Fitz is 27 yrs old, not 37. The reason he never got a shot in Cincy is b/c Palmer was there and not necessarily b/c he couldn't perform. btw, look up Palmers' numbers this season and compare them to Fitz..they're worse. But yet here you continue..bitching. What a whiner. Do me a favor, put a bag over your head and go sit in a corner b/c your delusional/biased bitching makes me SICK. There's plenty of **** to B word about on this team, but Fitz is not one of them. -
What does CJ Spiller have to do to be Jamaal Charles?

LMAO. In 5 games: 105 of 176; 1200yds; 240yds/gm; 12td's; 5int; 91.1 QB rating. About 25 teams in this league would give you their right NUT for those kind of numbers...but yet here I am: an apologist for Ryan Fitzpatrick's play this season. LMAO. One would think I was posting on a Jets board.. oh ya, and add on 22 rushing attempts for 159 yards in 5 games. By comparison, CJ Spiller for the entire season: 26 for 113 yds. Ya, Fitzpatrick is DEFINITELY the problem, and not a part of the solution. -

I'm not absolving him of anything. The INT was bad, but the chiefs scored 0 points off of it. How did that INT "significantly" contribute to this loss? What exactly was the result of that INT? Instead of having Fitz drive us to FG range at the end of the 4th quarter, he drove us to the exact same FG range in the first drive of OT. What was the result? Missed FG. I guess that INT made Lindell miss the FG. The point of my reply to the other poster was that if anyone is going to be accused of choking in this game, it should be Lindell. It's funny how you give Fitz a 1 sentence "blurb," if you will, for the game-tying TD, but then go on a rant about an INT that the chiefs scored 0 points off of. You make it a point to blab on about Fitzy's last 3INT's...sorry, two of those INT's came in a game against this team called the Ravens, you may not have heard of them, but they're pretty damn good. Let me apologize on Fitzy's behalf for going 29-43 for 382yds and 4td's against that team you never heard of, in THEIR HOUSE. You're a joke. 3Int's have been costly...I guess his 12td's this season have been of no help. Here's a hint, it'll relieve a lot of stress for the bashers: You're supposed to root for the players on the team you supposedly like.. -

No, you trying to blame this loss on Fitz is a bit silly. Fitz put Lindell within FG range in OT ON THE ROAD..after having driven the Bills for the game-tying TD ON THE ROAD. It's funny how you say how low the percentage is on making the FG, but at the same time fail to acknowledge that Lindell actually made it in his 1st attempt, to go ahead and miss it (when it actually COUNTED) in his second attempt. So, to answer your question, his chances I'd say were 50/50..too bad we were on the wrong side of that .50. -

Wow, sorry to inconvenience Lindell. Sorry that we couldn't put the ball on the 20 yd line for him. Out of range my ass. It wasn't out of range when he drilled it down the middle the first time. It's CHOKING when you have to do it when it counts and you miss it. I love lindell, but you fail to acknowledge that the game could've DIRECTLY been won right there at that moment. THAT is choking. I don't see how THAT is confusing. When fitz threw the INT, there were still several plays that we wouuld've had to have played in order to possibly win the game, being that we weren't even in FG range yet. -

What does CJ Spiller have to do to be Jamaal Charles?
bobobonators replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lets start by getting Spiller more than 2 carries a game.. -
kelsay was a marginal DE, at best. As a LB, he's an absolute liability on the field.

No my friend, it's called "choking" when Lindell drills it down the middle on the first attempt, and then misses the second. That was the game right there. Period. -

Was it called "choking" when he drove the team down the field, on the road, for a game-tying TD? Was that choking? Or was it choking when Lindell missed the game-winning FG? -

So Fitz missed the game-winning FG? -

i can't take the bipolar nature of bills fans. to rip on fitz after this game shows how many morons post on this board. Fitz drove the team down for a game-tying TD on the ROAD. This guy has been as cool and collected as you can get on 3rd downs and lets not forget how many drives he kept alive with his feet. Fitz is 27yrs old, not 35. He understands Gailey's system and is managing the offense to a level we haven't seen in Buffalo in years. Lets at least wait until the end of the season, before we run him out of town as well. -
you don't have fluke games against arguably the two best defenses in the nfl. Sometimes it takes some QB's longer to actually grasp an NFL offense..maybe it's just a perfect combination with gailey's system and fitzpatricks tools? who knows...but whatever it is, it's working. It's not as if Fitzpatrick was ever given a legit shot as a starting QB in this league..And don't give me that 0-4 crap. This team has absolutely 0 talent on the O-line/D-line/LB and we have 1 legit WR (hopefully soon we'll have 2 with Johnson).
-
Fitzpatrick has played against two of the top defenses in the NFL, and performed at a pretty high level. Against Ravens and Jets combined: 41-70, 502 yards, 6td, 2int and 94 yards RUSHING. QB's don't have fluke games against those kinds of defenses...Fitz performance this year is as real as it gets.

It's never too early in Buffalo...
bobobonators replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LMAO..sad, but true. there are people who would kill to be in his position. but at his age, how much motivation can this guy really have to succeed? how much fire/passion could this guy have left? not much apparently. -

LOL..i'm with you man, but I'm just not personally sold on any of the QB's coming out this year. If our front office is 100% sold on Mallett or Luck, then I'd say go ahead and draft one of them...but I wouldn't want to draft a QB in the top 3 just b/c we need a QB..in other words, I don't want ANY reach in the top 3. I want that pick to be as solid as it can..this team has so many obvious needs that trading down (if possible) would be ideal. I'm big on Heyward as well, but I've just seen more of Clayborn so I guess i"m kinda biased -
...for a mock draft! Trade down anywhere to pick 3-8. 1st round: Adrian Clayborn – DL – Iowa 2nd round (our pick): Mason Foster – LB – Washington 2nd round (trade down pick): Rodney Hudson – OG – Florida State 3rd round: Austin Pettis – WR – Boise St. 4th round: Wayne Daniels – DL – TCU 4th round (from Lynch trade): Marcus Gilbert – OL – Florida 5th round: Mike Mohamed – LB – Cal 6th round: Weslye Saunders – TE – South Carolina 7th round: Adam Grant – OT – Arizona yes, there's no QB on this list..that's b/c we go w/ Fitzy as our starting QB next year. This team requires a serious base to build on (for both offense and defense), and w/ the 2011 draft, hopefully we'll begin to do that.

Bills will TRADE top pick next year
bobobonators replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like others on here, I would probably trade down as well to anywhere between 5-10, which would give us at least an extra 2nd rounder. 1st rd: DL or LB 2nd rd: LB or DL (depending on what we don't take at 1) 2nd rd: OL 3rd rd: LB 4th rd: OL 4th rd: WR 5th rd: LB 6th rd: DL 7th rd: WR -
ugh, i don't even know what to think anymore. this team has so many holes that we need 3 drafts just to make some progress. if the FO and the coaching staff are sold on one of the 3 big qbs in this year's draft, I'd say that we def need to go QB..but if there's any doubt whatsoever on the QB's, we should really just trade down and get a couple of extra picks and load up on OL/DL

The Trent situation was not handled well
bobobonators replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sorry for getting in late to this conversation, but I had to comment on your "decisiveness" comment. Really? Gailey had since the moment he was signed, through training camp and preseason to evaluate the talent on this roster. This is not even mentioning all of the film that already existed on Trent; it's not as if he was a rookie. To name Trent the starting QB and then bench him after week 2 is one thing. But to then go and flat out RELEASE the guy you named your starting QB after 3 weeks into the season (of which he only started 2), is not only indecisive, but also clearly indicates that this new regime doesn't have much of a clear plan in place for this franchise. What exactly did Gailey see in these two weeks that wasn't already in film from the past few years? Nothing. Decisiveness would have been releasing Trent before training camp or the start of the season. Decisiveness would've been drafting Clausen, and not another RB when we already have two legit starting RB's. Decisiveness would've been realizing that you don't have **** at the QB position on this team, and addressing it in the off season - Bulger could've been had for a minimum and is light years ahead of anything we have here. Decisiveness is naming a starting QB and then actually starting him for more than 2 games, whoever that QB may be. Decisiveness is drafting Spiller and then actually starting him as our RB, and not switching back to Lynch. What franchise drafts a RB in the top 10, and later doesn't even give him half of a team's carries? Gailey has been anything but decisive -
Fitzpatrick at least gives this team some respectability and an opportunity to win. As a bills fan at this point in time, I couldn't ask for anything more. Great game by Fitz.
