I have only seen CK play in 2 games (don't see many wolfpack games), but in both games he was quite impressive. The guy is both huge and fast, and throws lasers...BUT, his throwing motion will probably need to be adjusted for the nfl...which to me is a scary proposition. That being said, if Gailey/Nix & Co. are extremely confident about the kid, and are 100% sure he can be leading our football team in 2 years, I would have no problems taking him with our 2nd round pick. Fitz starts this season and maybe next, while CK gets groomed and his mechanics get fine-tuned and hopefully he'll be ready to take over in 2012/2013.

Tony's one and only 2011 Buffalo Bills Mock Draft

Gailey says while OT is not a crying need......

Tyron Smit will NOT go in the top 5, guaranteed. I'll bet you my buffalo bills piggy-bank helmet on that one. Some of these draft boards at this time are so insane that you can have anyone "shootin up." Draft boards this time of year are of a "look at me mentality" where the creator simply tries to stand out from the kiper's and mcshay's of the world by creating some insanely different draft order than anyone else. That being said, I haven't seen Tyron Smith listed at 3 on any draft board whatsoever. -

Ya, i agree that our O-line wasn't great with respect to the running game, and we always seem to be outmatched in 3rd and short, failing to get much of a push at the LOS. That being said, we have a couple of young pieces in the OL that I still want to see more of, whereas we have gaping holes in our defense and simply need bodies..especialy now that stroud is gone. I dunno, to me our first pick should be DL and nothing else..whether it be fairley, dareus, or quinn. I just think that this year's draft is set up perfectly for us to address our most glaring need, which imo, is DL. Also, on a practical level, I just can't see us taking a T in the first round b/c no T grades even close to being top 5..we'd have to trade down all the way to 10-12 probably to take the first tackle..it's hard to trade down that far. -
QBs drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round from 2000-2010
bobobonators replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fitz has 36 games started in his career...basically two seasons worth of games. What's your basis to think that he can't continue to improve? Fitz is currently entering the prime of his career too and just turned 28. The guy has started in two seasons worth of games..geeze man, not exactly that large of a sample to draw any conclusions. -

What would happen if there isn't a season?
bobobonators replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotcha, I was just wondering if there was some kind of precedent. What did baseball do w/the draft when tehre was a lockout in 1994(?)..I can't seem to recall. Our luck the Jets would win the lottery... =/ I honestly don't think that a missed season would help out our team at all. If anything, it would hurt us. We need some of these young players to continue developing...and we'd probably get a higher pick if we played the entire season as opposed to relying on some lottery -

right now this defense needs a lot more work than our O-line..the O-line held their own in several games last season...the defense was destroyed in pretty much every game. I'd rather go with Defense w/higher picks in order to take advantage of higher impact/talented players and just role the dice with OL help from the 3rd/4th round onward. I wouldn't be against taking a solid T in the 2nd...but no way w/taking OL in the 1st round, even if we trade down. This year's draft class is extremely talented in the area we need most: DL. We should take advantage of that. -
Quick question, b/c I'm not sure. Lets say absolute worst case scenario labor talks go into nov/december and there isn't an NFL season this year...and a new cba is agreed to in lets say January of 2012....what would happen to next year's draft class? How would the order be determined? Lottery? thanks.

in all honesty, I would still be sleeping on Locker in the 4th round....and the 5th........6th........getting sleepier.....7th.............. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.....

The only way I'd even begin to come around to accepting Newton in Buffalo is if the Bills trade down to anywhere between picks 10-15 and we take him there...and even then I'd still question it.

Robert Quinn DE UNC, #1 overall pick
bobobonators replied to balln's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quinn is a great story too. He overcame a brain tumor when he was in H.S. He was suspended, like half the entire N.C. team was, for receiving improper benefits. I'd have no issue whatsoever if we take him at #3 depending on his interviews/physical shape at the combine. -
LOL...the first quote re: his decision to enter the draft early made me scratch my head as well.

JP Losman was drafted 22nd. Next. Depends on what the "answer" is. To me, Fitz is the answer to bringing this team up out of the gutter it's been in for well over the past decade. Fitz is more than good enough, with the right talent around him, to produce winning seasons, which right now, should be our ONLY concern. Before you win the super bowl, you have to make the playoffs. You're so caught up on getting that Super Bowl winning QB in the draft that you're missing the most glaring objective: to simply win football games Right now teams like the Ravens or Falcons should be discussing whether or not they have a QB that's good enough to win the Super Bowl. We don't have that concern yet. Ask yourself this: Did Fitz produce at a high level at his position last year? Yes. Statistically, he was among the top 10 QB's in the NFL (taking into account that he played fewer games). Indisputible. What more do you want from a position? Ah yes, the super bowl. Unfortunately, it's a team game, and our team on a whole, sucks.. If this team continues to develop and we begin to notice that Fitz is holding us back from winning games, then I'll be happy to revisit this conversation again when that point comes. But for now, and the next few years, Fitz is the answer, imo, to turning this franchise around..of course, assuming we add the right pieces around him. What numbers do you want Fitz to put up? 45td, 5000 yds and 10int? Look at his numbers last year. QB was not the problem..but yet that continues to be everyone's focal point. Building towards the ultimate goal involves much more than just the QB...we're lacking in every other department. How about you discuss that?

Warren Sapp rates Dareus over Fairley
bobobonators replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be thrilled w/dareus -
For everyone who's so quick to jump on Fitz for not being able to take this team to the super bowl, how about we make the playoffs..Check that, try a WINNING SEASON...first and worry if our QB is good enough for the super bowl after 3-4 years of falling short WITHIN the playoffs. jesus. there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that if we improve this team and add several pieces to the DL/OL over the next two years, Fitz is MORE than good enough to take the Bills to the playoffs..which is more than i can say for any unknown rookie QB. that's all we should be concerned with right now. all of this super bowl talk is insane people.

Fitz.

it'll probably remain a 4-3/3-4 hybrid that several successful teams employ, and which we employed to a certain extent last year...which means that players like Bowers shouldn't be dismissed from possible consideration.

lmao. i still say Dirty has some type of mental condition, in addition to having the maturity of a 10yr old. I wonder what some of the leaders in the locker room think? This guy is supposed to lead men? I have nothing against Dirty, and he does seem like a nice guy (probably b/c he acts like a 10yr old)..someone needs to sit him down and have a talk..or take him to a high-end strip joint/escort service..anything.

1. This makes sanchez look like a complete loser. NFL starting QB in NYC and you date a H.S. chick, who's not even that good looking!!?? 2. I know Sanchez was in trouble in USC w/some sexual assault charge that never came to be (when he was a freshman)...and now he's dating a chick in H.S. Maybe he's got some "issue"? 3. To the guy who said that there's only a 5 yr age difference..i hear ya, but it's not just about the number: again, he's an NFL starting QB and she's in H.S. WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE IN COMMON? 4. As for the people who question the girl's parents for letting her be out-and-about until the wee hours of the morning. Lets be real, if your 17yr old daughter told you that she was dating Mark Sanchez, you'd ejaculate yourself and pray to god that Dirty Sanchez does her Dirty and you have a little Sanchez Jr. running around so your daughter can collect $30,000/mo. in financial support for the rest of her life......at the very minimum, you'll be getting free Jets tix for a while...
