  1. Donald Jones (ankle) was a full participant in Bills practice Thursday. According to coach Chan Gailey, Jones is "still not 100 percent," but may be active against the Jets. Jones last played in Week 5. Even if Jones is able to return, he won't be a fantasy option against the Jets' seventh-ranked pass defense as he works his way back into game shape. 2. I live in teh NY/NJ metro area, as a Bills fan I'm worried the most this week not b/c of the difficulty of the opponent, but because of the crap I'll have to listen to on WFAN and 1050Espn radio for 2-3 weeks until we play them again if heaven forbid we lose. Listen guys, we've beaten the Patriots, Eagles, Raiders..all of them I think are a bit better than the Jets. So screw this "they're going to run all over us" kool-aid they're drinking, the Bills have proven themselves as serious contenders at this point. Stop the run + get to the quarterback = VICTORY. Lets !@#$ing do this!!!
  3. It's a huge game, but at 5-2, certainly not a must win game. The must win game would probably be the 2nd Jets game (if we lose next sunday). That being said, if we're able to win next week vs. the Jets, that would put us at 6-2 with 2 games remaining vs. the Dolphins..seriously start planning about playoffs at that point.
  4. for as bad as the Skins o-line may be, our D played the best game of the year so far. our two best defensive performances this year (KC and Skins) both came off a bye week (KC obviously first game of season) so maybe if you give Edwards extra time to prepare, he can develop a solid blitz scheme. unfortunately, we don't have anymore bye weeks this season.lol. that being said, many of our defensive players are young (Dareus, Carrington, Moats, Shep) and they're only going to get better...god i hope we can pressure Sanchez next week and rock his ass.
  5. i don't really see anything wrong with a comparison to Rivers in terms of arm strength; rivers isn't exactly known for having a cannon
  6. major story of this game are the injuries on both sides, though we know our losses, here are their significant injuries: London Fletcher will probably start but is questionable and playing with an injured hammy; chris cooley is out for season; tim hightower is out for season; santana moss is Out; starting G Lichtensteiger is out; starting Tackle Trent Williams is Out; those are huge losses on their side; and of course, their QB situation is in flux. 2 keys to this game imo: 1. Washington's strength on D is their Pass D, and the Skins give up approx 118yds/game rushing..so Freddie is going to have a typical Freddie game, but our O-line is going to have to give Fitz some time. So the 1st key is our O-line vs. their pass rush; if we lose this battle then I expect a very close game; if we win this battle, or at least hold our own, I expect a double digit win for us. 2. 2nd key: create havoc on D...our lack of pass rush was a bit of a let down vs. the giants; the giants O-line hasn't been great this season, and they had Snee out. I thought we could've produced some pass rush but we were god awful as usual..the skins have Beck at QB, a starting WR out, and two starting Olinemen out..WE HAVE to generate some pass rush this game in order to hopefully cause Beck to make some quick decision that can cause turnovers. If we're +1 or +2 in turnovers for the game, i fully expect us to win by double digits.
  7. oh for crying out loud joe, stop. if we're going to judge fitz on a game by game basis and cherry pick the negatives, then what do you propose we do when he lights it up in some games like he has? give him a 20million a year contract after he throws 4td's in a game? of course not. Dating back to last season, fitz has started in more than a season's worth of games already and has put up top 10 QB numbers in terms of TD's/int, yds, and QB rating in that time span. the numbers don't lie. He played well for us last year, and all of his numbers are up from last season so far this year. he's entering/in the prime of his career right now at age 28..soon to be 29. he's a leader and the team has responded to him as the QB ever since he took over. the contract is fair on both sides, and it's a good deal. end of story, imo.
  8. Last 19 games: 4,477yds; 35td's; 21 int. Woot! LOL! Hate Brady, Sanchez, Manning, Rivers, Big Ben = Logical...but hate Fitzpatrick when he played for the Bengals???
  9. They will also be without their starting tackle and guard, i believe. We have our own rash of injuries, however, with our #2 & #3 WR out; our LT out; our DT out, and Merriman probably out..we need to win this game with the Jets beating the freaking chargers.
  10. I hear ya, but I think it's obvious that our secondary has been so pathetic over the last few years directly as a result of our lack of pass rush during the same period. Our secondary will never improve until we improve the pass rush, so addressing the secondary w/o addressing the pass rush will continue to result in wasted picks at corner. Positions to fill by importance, imo: 1. OLB 2. WR 3. DE 4. CB 5. OL
  11. these foot injuries can sometimes take forever to heal. this truly blows.
  12. Agree completely. The Skins game will be critical..we win and we go to 5-2 before going up against the Jets..at that point we can still afford to lose vs. the Jets and go 5-3. If we lose against the Skins, and then have to go against the Jets at 4-3, that puts a ridiculous amount of pressure for the Bills to win that Jets game. Lets just take care of business vs. the Skins...hopefully we can develop a better defensive gameplan vs. the Skins during these two weeks. Important to note about Skins: their QB situation is in shambles; Cooley, T. Williams, Lichtensteiger will all most likely be out when they play us..critical injuries. We must take advantage.
  13. i don't view them as must wins, at least not both...if we beat Wash, we don't HAVE to beat the jets..however, if we lose against the skins, i'll say that the Jets game will be pretty close to a "must win." I see us beating the Skins in 2 weeks, and losing to the Jets at home. The jets will be playing us off a bye week and the Jets are ALWAYS hard for us to beat. However, I see us going to the meadowlands and beating the Jets in their house later this season. Since when is a divisional game against the Jets relatively easy???? I'll say we MUST split vs. teh Jets this season..but the Jets will be playing us off a bye, giving Rex Ryan 2 weeks to prepare for us..don't discount how tough that game will be...
  14. I'm the biggest optimist in the world, but our schedule in the 2nd half is not easy at all. Though I think we can very well finish 10-4, I can easily see us going 5-5 and finishing 9-7. For starters, key injuries are starting to pile up across the entire team and secondly, we're not going to catch anyone "off guard" in teh second half. Our team is solid but we simply don't have the depth to recover from a signifcant rash of injuries...hopefully we can start getting some of these guys healthy and back on the field. Either way, the point of my post above was that even by going 5-5, we still have a very good shot at making the playoffs this season.
  15. Our schedule going forward: 10/30 Washington Redskins (Tor) 4:05 pm - WIN 11/06 New York Jets 1:00 pm - LOSS (jets come into this game off a bye) 11/13 @ Dallas Cowboys 1:00 pm - LOSS 11/20 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm - WIN 11/27 @ New York Jets 1:00 pm - WIN 12/04 Tennessee Titans 1:00 pm - WIN 12/11 @ San Diego Chargers 4:15 pm - LOSS 12/18 Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm - WIN 12/24 Denver Broncos 1:00 pm - WIN 1/01 @ New England Patriots - LOSS 10-6..worst case scenario, 9-7 We're 4-2 now, and so lets go with teh worst case 9-7 scenario. We must beat the Dolphins both times, we have to at least split vs. the Jets, beat Denver, and beat either Tennessee or Redskins..that'll put us at 9 wins with Losses vs. Cowboys, NYJets once, Chargers, Patriots, and/or Redskins/Ten IMO, 9-7 gives us a real solid chance to get in this year..i know it's early, but looking at the West, the lost of Campbell may completely screw the Raiders the rest of season - chargers win division and Raiders finish worse than 9-7. Looking at the South, Tennessee is actually playing pretty well, but looking at their schedule second half, no way they win more than 9 games this season..and if we beat them when we play then that'll handle them...Houston wins division and Ten is on the outside; looking at the North, I think we can expect Cincy to come back down to earth a bit by the end of the year just b/c Dalton should go through growing pains at some point???(hopefully), so either Pitt or Baltimore wins that division and 1 wild card comes from North.. that leaves us with the East...we HAVE to split with the Jets schedule is a bit easier in the second half, but they already have 3 losses and still have to face NE again, SD, us twice, Philly, and NY Giants...BEST case scenario, i see the Jets make a move in the second half and finish 9-7..BEST case...but if we're able to split with them, I think we'll win the tie breaker b/c we already beat the Pats this year..so we have a good chance of winning division tie breaker, and we beat Philly, so that helps us with the common games tie-breaker...so BAM, we become the 2nd wild card at 9-7 LMAO..i know it's way too early, but it's fun to do this. Anyway, point of post is that we're in a REALLY good position guys. Lets enjoy our bye week, get healthy, and ROCK the Redskins. Woot!!!
  16. not saying i like what Harbaugh did...but like other posters have mentioned, i've had enough of little schwartzy doing his "punch out" celebration in the sidelines this season, looking like a complete FOOL. schwartzy doesn't like being the one that gets fisted.
  17. I would personally LOVE to have the opportunity to read the performance reviews some of you guys have at work. This was by far the worst game Fitz has had all year and he still had 2td's to go along with his 2int's...for the year he has 12td's and 6int's with a QB rating in the upper 90's..the team is 4-2. HOLY JESUS, THE SKY IS FALLING!
  18. though i'm excited as well, i'd feel a heck of a lot better if KW is able to start.
  19. It looks like Brandon Jacobs will not play in this game which hopefully makes the Giants throw the ball more often. I'd much rather put the game on Eli's shoulders than have the Giants run up and down the field on us b/c eventually you know Eli will throw anywhere from 1-3 int's if he's dropping back 40 times. We potentially have several key players who may not start this game: KW, Barnett, Merriman, Kelsay. Though I technically wouldn't consider Merriman/Kelsay to be key, our LB corps is going to be reaaaally thin for this game making their absence huge in case anyone else goes down or even b/c of fatigue throughout the game. I'm looking forward to watching Moats get the start however - he's put pressure on the QB whenever he's been in the game. McGee looks to return ths sunday and hopefully that'll sure up our secondary a bit. As for our offense, I'd give them a heavy dose of quick slants and screen passes in the passing game. Unlike last week however, we need to utilize the play action more often this week. Did we even run a play action pass last week??? Hopefuly we can get another huge game from Freddie J and then throw a couple of play action bombs (even if you don't complete them) just to keep the DL/LB's of the giants honest. Should be a really entertaining game - CAN'T WAIT! BILLS 24 GIANTS 21
  20. LMAO..wow. talk about a brain fart. SEIZE. Thank! lmao..alright, alright! LOL. I'll admit, that was pretty bad. wow. Long day.
  21. i have confidence in roosevelt; he's shown some flashes. he put up huge numbers for the bulls so this is his opportunity to show he belongs at this level...hopefully he can cease the moment.
  22. Jones took the cart to the locker room but he left the playing field on his own. geeze.
  23. i agree with both of the above posters. this problem w/WR depth can be resolved internally for now. We have a bye week in 2 weeks and hopefully we can get some of these guys healthy. Randy Moss/T.O. talk is silly imo.
  24. when i saw jones run off the field i thought it wasn't that serious, but apparently he's going to be out for a few weeks. really sucks. hopefully we can get Jones back after the bye for the Skins game. i know nothing of Aiken, in terms of watching him play...here's more info on Aiken: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1277679/kamar-aiken Not much on him.
