  1. Fitz > Vick for sure...vick has been a starter many more seasons than Fitz, and what has he ever accomplished really? Id take Rivers over Fitz..but again, how much talent has Rivers had in San Diego? How would Rivers do in Buffalo? I wouldn't jump to take Ryan over Fitz...Ryan has fallen into a situation in Atlanta where he has TONS of talent around him and though he has performed relatively well, how would he actually do in Buffalo? The point is, Fitz is putting up good numbers with very little talent around him...so the LOGICAL thing would be to simply continue to ADD talent to the offensive side and not SUBTRACT from the talent (by replacing Fitz or even stevie or freddie)
  2. Also, he has thrown 14 INT's which ranks 26th out of 32 rated QB's..have to take into account however that appprox 11 players ahead of him on that list have 100 fewer attempted passes for the season..
  3. Fitzpatrick League Rankings: Completion percentage: 5th (63.9%); 3rd is Brady, 4th is Romo; 6th Big Ben, 7th is Alex Smith (level: elite) Touchdowns: 7th (20td); 5th is Eli, 6th is Romo; 8th is tie between rivers/sanchez/big ben/matt ryan (level: great) QB rating: 11th (85.8); 9th is matt stafford, 10th is Matt Moore; 12th is cutler, 13th is matt ryan (level: above league average) Yards/Game: 18th (236.4); 16th is Grossman; 17th is Flacco; 19th is Cutler; 20th is Sanchez (average/slightly below league average) Overall you get a QB who is having overall a pretty good damn good season. For the TD stat, Fitz has fewer pass attempts (by quite a bit) than EVERY SINGLE QB in front of him minus Aaron Rodgers.. for the yds/game stat, Fitz has fewer pass attempts than EVERY SINGLE QB in front of him with at least 400 attempts (quite a few of the players on there haven't started all season), minus 3 players (cam/freeman/rodgers who all have more yds/game and fewer attempts) If you guys think that those numbers, taking into account the lack of pure talent surrounding fitz, aren't good enough to take a team far into the playoffs, then you're delusional.
  4. i really don't understand the purpose of this thread..why limit it to just Fitz? Why not just ask: Is any player on the bills roster "elite"? I suppose replacing Fitz's name with McGee or Dareus or Byrd isn't as cute/dramatic. Agreed. It's absolutely comical how everyone still wants to draft a QB to replace Fitz assuming that he'll produce at a better rate. Fitz is going to most likely finish the season rankd in teh top 10 in most, if not all, QB categories...but he's not Tom Brady though so we can still get better..gotcha. Ryan with White, Jones, and Tony Gonzalez has fewer TD's than Fitz with Stevie, the waterboy, and my grandma at WR..somehow Ryan is still 10x better than Fitz to some people on these boards. what are you babbling about clown. compare him to the rest of the league and see where his numbers stack up...once you compile those names, go a little further and compare the talent those other QB's have at WR/OL compared to what we have.
  5. lol..i meant near the red zone..weren't we on the 30 or so? (sorry, can't remember the exact spot)..anyway, my point was taht he did move the ball down the field last week in the last possession; if our defense holds the jets to a FG to tie the game last week instead of the go-ahead TD, then that would've been a game winning drive by us last week since we were in FG range. anyway, buts are pointless at this point..it's just amazing though how this teams clear weakness/flaw is the defense and yet week in week out we sit here and scrutinize every pass Fitz throws as if we have a top 3 defense and pro bowl WR and Fitz is the one holding this team back. it's laughable.
  6. he threw 3 td's last week vs. the Jets and people were still ripping on him b/c we lost. when he underperforms he sucks; when he's average in a game then he's still not the long-term answer at the position; and when he plays very well it was expected b/c the other team's defense sucks.. the buffalo bills are a 1 man team for the purposes of these message boards...it's a way for fans to dumb things down by simply saying that it was "player Xs fault"
  7. STOP, please stop, we had the ball on our 15 YARD LINE with 0 timeouts and 1 minute left on the clock...what on earth did you expect? last week he drove us down all the way to the redzone vs. the jets and then Stevie dropped a wide open pass...
  8. Thanks colin cowherd. I get your point, and fans indeed may not know squat, but a retarded invalid has enough common sense to realize that this defense is arguably the worst in the league. There's no need for pandering, just look at the stats and watch the games.
  9. despite his drop vs. Pitt and drop/penalty yesterday, I still truly enjoy having Stevie on this team and think we should definitely resign him. Bobo the merciful.
  10. when KW was playing this D was at least respectable vs. the run while being shredded vs. the pass...now we just suck all around. you know it's bad when you can't 1. stop the run; and 2. rush the passer. horrible.
  11. lose out?? boy, we're making the PLAYOFFS!
  12. Playoffs, here we come! we're all down, but until we're officially eliminated..I still have a 5% shred of hope.
  13. Agree on every point. not much else to say other than Plax was wide open on his TD as well...2 wide open TD's with not a single player within 10 yds is as pathetic as you can get. Edwards will be fired and this D will hopefully get much needed help in the offseason via FA and draft.
  14. Of the remaining 5 games, 3 are at home: Titans next week..winnable @chargers...their season is over...winnnable. Dolphins...you're telling me the Fins are going to sweep us this year???...winnable. Broncos...it's not in Denver..it's in buffalo...Tebow will not Tebow us...winnable. Patriots...pats will have division wrapped up with nothing to play for (possibly).. winnable. 5-0...10-6..2nd wild card spot. BRING IT!!!
  15. for me, the following needs and order thereof are clear to me: 1. LB or DE : I don't give a flying crap which one we get, but he'll have to generate pass rush (more likely OLB). 2. WR or TE: Look at NE and tell me that we couldn't use another great pass catching TE to help out fitzy. Yes, our defense sucks, but this is a pass-happy league, and we need to keep adding to this offense. 3. CB: Yes, another DB. 4. Center 5. Tackle 6. RB 7. LB
  16. At this point, firing Edwards won't do much on the field of play. But you know what it will do? It will show the fans and the team as a whole that this **** won't be tolerated any further. It's the symbolism of his firing that'll hopefully reverberate throughout the franchise and fans. This defense is by far, the worst in the league..and it's simply unacceptable. I'm sick and !@#$ing tired of this offense having to carry this team EVERY SINGLE GAME (minus the redskins game). Our offense has made serious strides this year but we're still not an elite offense - we can be good/really good some games and other be quite average/below average..we can't expect the offense to go and put up 30 points every week. But you give me a defense that ranks 15th or 16th in the league in yds allowed/pts allowed (aka an average defense), and I'll give you a team that is at least 7-4 or maybe even 8-3 at this point. That's water under the bridge at this point though..what really bothers me is taht we have seen little to no improvement in this defense as teh season goes on..look at the patriots, is the patriots defensive personnel much better than ours? their entire secondary is filled with scrubs and sure they got torched for a few weeks, but their COACHING STAFF turned **** around and put players in a position to succeed. that hasn't happened here in Buffalo..if anything, our defense is getting worse as teh season continues. I'm not crazy about demanding that someone lose their job, but Edwards just does not appear to be qualified enough to be a Defensive Coordinator in this league. thus, he must go.
  17. 1. first drive of the game was excellent..right up to the point where Fitz overthrew a wide open Stevie..that play set the tone for the entire game. 2. Our defense is by far the worst defense I have seen in a long, long, looooooong time. I know our offense has been horrible the past 3 games, but when you see a stat that our defense has given up something like 8td's in teh last 9 offensive possessions by the opposing team, one can't help but vomit..which in turn brings us to: 3. being down 21-3 after a quarter and a half prevents us from utilizing our best offensive weapon: freddie. 4. this team is seriously lacking confidence right now and quite honestly, i have no idea if this downward trend is correctible at this point due to all the key injuries that are piling up. 5. our offensive line was a major strength at the beginning of the season and a large contributing factor to our early success; there's definitely a correlation between our subpar o-line play the last 3 weeks and our ****ty offensive play. 6. fitz needs to be a bit more accurate and our WR's need to make some plays; i saw a stat today that we had something like 10 dropped passes. 7. spiller truly sucks 8. our coaching staff has clearly been outcoached the past 3 weeks; when you lose games in the manner that we have lost games the past 3 weeks, that's not just the players fault. our team is simply not prepared mentally and/or physically..the coaches need to get their !@#$ing heads out of their asses and start gameplanning better. 9. brad smith..i was excited when we signed him. what a let down. this guy can't catch, can't return kicks, and can't gain a yard in the wildcat. I thought we hit our low point last week against the cowboys..today was worse. Our playoffs start next week vs. the Jets. Despite being an optimist, I see no way we can beat the Jets next week. It seems like this team is physically and even worse, mentally, finished...this league is all about having mojo, and right now we have none of that.
  18. i rate the success of a defense by points allowed and redzone effectiveness (keeping teams to fg as opposed to td); (obviously the two are somewhate related)
  19. did you even watch a goddamn second of today's game?! your logic offends the mind. it's really not a surprise that our country is tanking when people like you are allowed to vote in political elections.
  20. Brad Smith will definitely contribute in one way shape or form to our victory this Sunday. In a perfect world: Brad Smith will RUN OVER maybin at the LOS and break a 20yd run for a TD; Ex-Jet vs. Ex-Bill, and B. Smith conquers.
  21. Brad Smith rushes for a TD and then throws for a TD and sticks it to his former team.
