Chris Brown SPECULATES Bills in play for V Jackson
bobobonators replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Brown needs someone to read his articles. We're not signing Vincent Jackson or Mario Williams...maybe in 4-5 years, when the contracts they sign this year with other teams expire and they're well past their primes. -
Considering that this defense has only one true 4-3 DE on this roster who is capable of producing pass rush (Kelsay, and that's sad), we would be blessed to be able to get a player like Mathis. I really don't see the point in referencing Mathis' size. I think Mathis has been in the league long enough and has proven himself. The guy gets 9.5 - 11.5 sacks every single season. What's the alternative? Even if we draft a DE with the 1st pick, we need more DE's. Look at the giants, everyone on that DL is practically a DE.
-
i really like it, but there's no doubt that Brockers would be a bit of a project as he's still quite young and few DT's just step in and dominate from day one. question though is when would we get him? he's not worth a 10 but then again he probably won't be tehre when we pick again in the 2nd. we would have to trade up. brockers may also be able to play DE in a 4-3 at the nfl level..he put on a lot of weight in order to play DT
-
I completely agree. For the Bills, someone like Mathis may be possible (and would be huge) but hoping for Williams is just a waste of time, imo.

decastro is certainly a beast but i just don't like it at 10 for two reasons: 1. Of the numerous needs, guard isn't one (IMO); our Guards are actually pretty good and Levitre is only going to get better; 2. Quality, long term Guards can be found pretty easily in rounds 3-5. now if J. Martin is there at 10 and we take him, though I think we need defense, I wouldn't really complain due to the importance of the LT position and i feel that LT is more of a question than our guard situation.

I think taking Mercilus at #10 is a bit of a stretch.

Orson Charles or Dwayne Allen anyone?
bobobonators replied to BillsNeedaQBin2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
gimmie some CHAAAAAAAAAAAARLES!!!! in my sig, i have us getting him in the 3rd, but realistically i don't expect him dropping into the 3rd round though and I wouldn't take him in the 2nd where we're picking..unless we trade down in the 2nd. -
who is the best 4-3 DE in this draft?
bobobonators replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't look at the weight, look at his production. Osi and robert mathis have the exact same build and all they do is get to the QB. Nick Perry is the real deal. woot! -
who is the best 4-3 DE in this draft?

Nick Perry, USC will move up on draft day and will be taken #10. Purest 4-3 DE in this draft who does nothing but get to the QB. -
So, where's this "new NFL" I keep hearing about?
bobobonators replied to maddenboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very well said. The 49ers didn't really "stop" the saints, so I'm not sure what defense the OP is referring to. The 49ers simply scored last..does anyone really think that the 49ers defense would've stopped Brees if there were another 2 minutes on the clock? Exactly how many 14 - 3 games have their been in these playoffs? Stating that the NFL is a passing league is beyond cliche - it's a simple fact. So, defensively, what's the best way to defend the pass: rush the passer. Pass rush also = INT's. Truly simple stuff. The IDEAL NFL recipe for success today is no longer run the ball, and stop the run...no, it's PASS THE BALL, AND RUSH THE PASSER. That's the new NFL..and the playoffs keep reinforcing the change. So defense is still needed today, but it's a defense that focuses on creating pressure on the QB, and not so much on stopping the run. Such a defense though is prone to the big play due to blitzes and man on man, etc...hence, the huge offensive games that we see...at the same time though, that same kind of pass rushing defense will get 5/6 sacks and a couple of forced fumbles perhaps...so statistically the defense will have a bad game but still create big plays that help you win. -
Put everything into the offense
bobobonators replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Offense is definitely the name of the game in today's NFL. As much as I've defended Fitz, this offense, no matter how much you add to it, will never be at the level of GB, NE, or NO b/c Fitz can't reach that level. That doesn't we need a HOF QB in order to win...insead, we're going to make up the gap between Fitz and Brady somehwere else: defense and special teams. Continue to add pieces to the offense for sure, but the only way the Bills will move forward is by having a well-balanced TEAM. -
i think that there are several good TE's coming out this year in the draft. keep an eye on Ladarius Green from LA Lafayette; huge end zone threat at 6'6 and has the body type of Graham.

Mock Drafts - Go D Or Go Home !!
bobobonators replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey Astro, i noticed you guys have Nick Perry as a 3-4OLB, but every game I see him play he's been a 4-3 DE...did you put down 3-4 b/c that's what you guys believe he'll play at the next level? I'd keep an eye on Perry..this guy is the purest pass-rushing 4-3 DE in this draft. He's going to move up the draft boards BIG time. -
Lets not be silly. The jets traded UP to get Sanchez and paid him a pretty penny. The Jets went to the AFC championship game back-to-back years with Sanchez at QB, and how many road playoff wins did he obtain in those two playoff runs? This was his 3rd year - not his 13th. His dues have been paid. The only fool in NYC that has "not paid his dues" is fatass Rex Ryan. Sanchez's biggest problems are as follows: 1. He plays QB in NYC; 2. Rex Ryan is writing checks that Sanchez can't cash (yet). When your HC has a fat mouth and talks about Super Bowl victories in April to the NYC media, there's only one plausible outcome: crash and burn. I personally hate the Jets and laugh whenever Sanchez throws an INT. The Jets' biggest problem however is not Sanchez. The rotting head on that fat fish is Rex Ryan.

White coaches are better suited to motivate a team that is 95% black...fear the white man. Black males don't respect other black males in positions of authority. I have scientific data to back this claim up.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe Brees and Rivers would've developed with ANYONE and that it was Brees and Rivers that actually made Brian look good? Sanchez, contrary to what you say, isn't a complete bum so maybe you should consider the alternative hypothesis before you proclaim Brian to be Tebow-like. If Brian was such a genius he wouldn't have Sanchez throw 59 times in one game vs arguably the best pass rush in the league(the giants). Great gameplan! Maybe Brian should go backk to being a QB coach and leave the actual playcalling for those individuals who didn't rely on their last name to get them through the door.

Anyone excited about the "Championship Game" tonight?
bobobonators replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If upshaw is there at 10, i think we have to take him. I too question his ability to consistently bring pressure at the NFL level. I don't think he possesses the strength AND speed attributes of an abraham or freeney but he sure as heck possesses the strength. Though our pass rush is horrid, our run defense is poor as well and is also a need. At 10, I feel Upshaw would both fill a need and is also arguably the best player to fill that need at that spot. Can't wait to see him at the combine. Other players to keep an eye on are Melvin Ingram from S. Carolina and Nick Perry from USC. -
What can we learn from the Broncos?
bobobonators replied to covac23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can't learn anything from the Denver Broncos. First, we don't play in the AFC West. In addition, we don't play in the AFC West. In conclusion, we don't play in the AFC West. -
Dont Be Surprised To See Stevie Sign With...
bobobonators replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we have to resign stevie imo...we're short on WR WITH Stevie..if we let Stevie walk we're going to have to obtain 2 WR this offseason. Stevie is just entering the prime of his career and has had back to back 1,000yd seasons. At 25, there is only upside people. Yes, he may be a bit of an ars at times with his antics on the sidelines but you still have to resign him though. Stevie may not be a premier #1..but he's definitely a 1A WR imo who can be part of the eventual solution in buffalo. I'd be pretty upset if Stevie goes elsewhere. I don't disagree that it was a boneheaded play by Stevie and I, like many others, was really pissed off when he got flagged ffor it. I also think the term "selfish" needs to be qualified. I wouldn't consider Stevie's actions to be selfish in the same sense as Santonio Holmes...Stevie's selfish acts I feel CAN be corrected b/c everything I have read/heard about Stevie, he seems like a pretty decent guy. I think Stevies main problem right now is that he's still a bit immature. I don't see maliciousness in Stevie's actions...stupidity yes, but Stevie's actions were never mean spirited. Someone like Stevie can be corrected...someone like Holmes cannot (imo). Stevie's new contract should simply have a clause that stipulates that if Stevie gets flagged for celebrations he'll get automatically fined $30K by the team....you'd see how quickly the boneheaded celebrations would end. -
