  1. I disagree man. Anderson isn't exactly young, what exactly is freeney going to show him that mario williams can't? The only thing freeney would do is take away from their playing time, which is the most important thing for a players development. I'm fairly confident that a healthy anderson will outproduce freeney at this point in their careers. No thanks X100
  2. Would you guys rather have byrd, landry, and a 2nd rd rookie at G or Byrd, searcy, and levitre? I may lean towards the landry option - the thought of byrd and landry in same backfield gives me serious wood
  3. Stop with the conspiracy BS. You think NFL head coaches - especially one getting his 1st shot - is going to screw around w/ the roster so they can set up "their guy" (whatever the F that means) for a nice gig at QB? No, Marrone is going to do what he thinks is best for the team which in turn is also the best thing for Marrone's career. No one's rigging the flipping roster dude.
  4. No thanks, we should focus our FA $ on getting a solid, veteran corner to help out Gilmore and improve our defense considering our new scheme is going to require some skill from our CB spot, and outside of Gilmore - God help us.
  5. What reason is there to keep anyone on our defense? Adrian peterson carried ponder into the playoffs. Cj coudnt do that - let's cut him too. And freddy as well - he had more fumbles in 2012 than TD's Sorry man, I didn't mean that post for u..it was for everyone.
  6. You guys really crack me up. I'm loving this. People get so fired up they can't even think straight.
  7. The people here who are freaking out about Fitz possibly staying on the roster have themselves to blame for getting their panties in a bunch - you guys simply lack objectivity. It's the same crowd that thinks Fitz is a 3rd string QB in the NFL - no rationality whatsoever. Come to peace with yourself the following way: There will be an open competition between QB's in the offseason to probably include, TJax, Fitz, and a rookie QB that we draft. If fitz wins that open competition under the new coach, then WTF does that say about the other QB's we have? If Fitz loses the open competition, then we have one of the better backup QB's in the league. it's really that simple. This coaching staff has no attachment to Fitz. So if Fitz continues on this team, it's for a reason.
  8. One of my favorite bills over the last few years. Good guy
  9. Exactly. We should create a paypal acct and put a simple wager among the TSW community: O/U on Geno's draft position at 10.5. I'd happily bet $500 that Geno goes top 10.
  10. You're flat out wrong my friend. Where did Tannehill, Ponder, Locker, Gabbert go? Geno is by far much better than all of those. If you don't think so, you just don't watch enough college football.
  11. If people on this board don't allow that argument to go by wiht Fitz, then why would you expect the same people to let it go by for Geno? rotoworld.com: NFL Network's Mike Mayock stated on the Rich Eisen Podcast that he has a "hard time buying" West Virginia QB Geno Smith as a legitimate selection for the Chiefs at No. 1 overall. "I have a hard time buying into that," said Mayock, fresh off studying 12 hours of Geno's tape. "I couldn't even pound the table today for a first-round quarterback, let alone a (No. 1) pick quarterback. I watched a bunch of Geno Smith and he can make every throw. He's athletic. The ball jumps out of his hand. But there's a lot of things that make me nervous about him. He misses people by wide margins for no reason. I see a little bit of hesitancy with the blitz. When that first read is not there, it's not as pretty on the second or third read. His eyes come down. He makes mistakes." IMO, Geno is the best QB prospect in this draft and I would be ecstatic if he dropped to us at #8. I cannot see him dropping to #8 though, considering the amount of teams ahead of us that need a QB. Mike Mayock said: Geno Smith can make every throw. He's athletic. The ball jumps out of his hand. Exactly, and that's why he'll be gone by 8 probably.
  12. how many times can we possibly adress the same point - over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
  13. I think you're a bit nuts. CJ rushed for 1244 yds and rec'd 459yds in 2012. That's a combined 1700+yds in 250 touches (again, combined). That's 6.8yds a touch and 8 total TD's. Fred hasn't played more than 10 games the last 2 years. He had MORE FUMBLES THAN TOUDCHDOWNS in 2012 and averaged 3.8yds/carry in 2012. back in 2011 (probably his best all-around year despite only playing 10games) Fred had 934yds rushing and 442yds receiving for 1376 combined yds in 209 combined touches, averaging 6.6yds a touch and 6 TD's. 2011 may not seem that long ago, but when you're talking about players in their 30's, it is. So CJ who is 25 and entering his prime is somehow below Fred who is 32 and well past his prime? Face it man, CJ has surpassed Freddy already. The only things that can stop CJ from reaching ELITE status are coaching and injuries. But as for being the best back on the Bills, there's no question in my mind - it's CJ.
  14. Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones passed his general medical checks and the report will be sent to every team on Thursday. Gil Brandt tweeted that this should solidify a top-10 selection, but we are not as quick to come to that conclusion. This is the first hurdle Jones had to overcome medically, but he is not in the clear. In fact, each team puts questionable players through their own medical tests and passes or fails prospects on a per team basis. That is why the relationship between decision maker and head trainer is vital. We expect some teams to fail Jones medically, while others will pass him. The question remains: which ones and where are they drafting? Source: Gil Brandt on Twitter Feb 13 - 8:33 AM
  15. while it may be semantics, RGIII's ceiling has always been higher (IMO) due to his pure athletic ability. He can throw a 50yd bomb right on the money and break a 50yd run in the same game. however, this is not to say that RGIII > Geno in 8yrs. If all three were coming out in this draft class, i'm almost certain it would be 1. Luck; 2. RGIII; 3. Geno. But i hear what you're saying re: Geno
  16. Any option with Geno Smith in it wins by a landslide (IMO)
  17. ya, that comparison is pretty off..but Geno is still the most accomplished QB in this draft class. I dunno if i'd trade this year's entire draft for him though...
  18. but but but..he didn't play in the senior bowl! he'll definitely drop to the 2nd round. i can't wait to bring that thread back on draft day.
  19. i hear ya. at the end of the day, if the medical staff says that his condition is not too advanced and we can get a solid 5 years out of him, he'd be worth it (IMO). if you look at the guy play, some make it sound like he's somehow currently limited by this condition. the guy throws his body around the field like an animal and makes punishing tackles. to me, it's all about trying to determine how many years he may be able to play at the next level. totally understand the reservations though.
  20. if the medical staff clears him then I would be thrilled with it. I'd take a Von Miller type for 5 years over a Chris Kelsay type for 10.
  21. Wilson's best years are far behind him. Wilson hasn't made an impactful play in about 2 years. Sorry to see him go, but he was a below-average S. Barnett's prime is long-gone as well. Time to bring in younger, faster, stronger talent. Both great guys, but they were average/below average players on a a HORRIBLE defense. If this helps us sign Levitre/Byrd than these are great moves.
  22. Ryan Mallet, Chase Daniel and Drew Stanton are ranked ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick? How can someone objectively rank "Accuracy, Arm Strength, Decision Making, Mechanics and Mobility" if they don't even start?
  23. Man, i was talking about the skill positions, not the O-LINE. The patriots hit the freaking MEGAMILLIONS with Brady. The pats are the exception, not the rule. And last time I checked, CJ spiller was not a starter for us up until this season, and even this season he wasn't in there half the snaps b/c he gets "winded". The last 3 years we have played the MAJORITY of our snaps with ZERO 1st rounders or 2nd rounders at any of the skill positions. Without going overly in-depth, this season's playoff teams. Redskins had 2 1st rounders Packers had 3 players in first 2 rounds Colts had 3 players in first 2 rounds Ravens had 4 players in first 2 rounds Bengals had 3 players in first 2 rounds Broncos had 3 players in first 2 rounds Texans had 1 player in first round Vikings had 5 players in first 2 rounds Pats had 1 player in first 2 rounds 49ers have been stated already hawks had 4 players in first 2 rounds Falcons had 4 players in first round alone The only one that really stands out from that list is the Texans who "only" have A. Johnson.
