  1. i dunno what to think anymore. i originally thought it was all too much of a coincidence (his piss poor attitiude and now this "injury")...but if he was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis i'm not going to really question it. hopefully he has a mild case of it and he can somewhat recover. an 80% Byrd is better than most safeties in the NFL anyway.
  2.  :worthy: :worthy:
  3. great news his foot hurts too much; prob not. meanwhile wood has had almost career-ending injuries and he just continues chugging along.
  4. Fitzmagic (also known by others as shitspatrick)
  5. You win Tuel as your week 1 starter! WOOT!
  6. LOL..will always have a soft spot for that caveman. I agree - then again, it's something we seriously lack: a backup.
  7. FEAR THE BEARD FITZPATRICK!!!! Best of luck to him out in Titans land.
  8. 4 games: 23/32 296yds; 5 TD; 1 INT; 116 rating
  9. i'm just having some fun with it. obviously it wasn't an ideal situation; that being said: he's a veteran and he's playing in a 4th preseason game (albeit his first, i'm referring to the talent he's playing against). a screen is a screen is a screen; a slant is a slant is a slant. 11 yards in 10 attempts and 2 INTs from a veteran QB is as bad as it gets. he'll get a broadcasting gig making 300K a year w/ESPN or NFL network - my heart goes out to him.
  10. lol.."tough game"....LMAO. 4th preseason game. what would he consider next week's game vs. the Pats?
  11. though i'd obviously love EJ to start, at this point I think it's pretty pointless to rush the kid. he's our franchise at this point; our future. let him come when he's damn good and ready. what the heck is one more week anyway? we're not going anywhere this season. we're going to lose against NE with or without him most likely. there's 0 incentive to rush him through practice imo
  12. Everything on this board is always irrational - why expect anything different now?
  13. Foot injuries can be extremely hard to diagnose (aside from having the obvious broken bone in your foot). It's like people who have chronic back pain - results of an MRI/Xray can come back negative, but you still have pain in your back. All i'm saying is that if a player wants to be a douche, a toe injury is the perfect route.
  14. Agreed. Add on a new HC and new D-Coordinator so new scheme and you get even less of a reason to miss practice.
  15. A team that trades for him is fully aware of his contractual situation. Someone will sign this guy to a long-term deal. We're talking about a premier safety not some average player. I wish we would sign him to a long-term deal but that's another conversation.
  16. Agreed. Expect nothing but crap "injuries" from this guy all season. I hope I'm wrong.
  17. I disagree. Byrd is a two-time pro-bowler and is tied for 3rd in most interceptions in the NFL since 2009. He has already proven himself in the NFL and other teams will jump on the opportunity to sign him. It's in his best interest to not get significantly injured this season so he can cash-in next season. A little "toe" injury is the perfect excuse to not play, get paid this season, and at the same time not have other teams question you next off-season. Again, this POS better play week 1.
  18. What to expect? A loss - that's what I'm expecting. 27 - 10 sounds about right.
  19. I'll call BS on Byrd's foot "injury." That POS better be out there Week 1.
  20. 1. Rookie QB 2. Rookie QB was a first round pick in last draft. 3. Rookie QB is potentially the new face of the franchise. 4. Rookie QB has surgery. 5. Rookie QB misses large amounts of practice/playing time during pre-season from surgery. What's the rush? Honestly folks, what exactly is the rush? What's the point of forcing anything? Let him at least have a full week of practice before making his first NFL start. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Decades of watching horrible football and we as fans can't wait until Week 2?
  21. These boards, as usual, go from one extreme to another. I can't wait for the EJ Manuel insanity this season - he will surely go from Warren Moon to J. Russell from week to week.
  22. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported on SportsCenter Wednesday that Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg is "very high" on Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib, and the Bills are worried the Jets will poach him. As Sal Pal alluded to, the Jets "control the first round" to some extent with the Nos. 9 and 13 selections, either or even both of which could be used as trade bait for a coveted player such as Tavon Austin or if a top-five player surprisingly falls. Both the Jets and Bills have QB needs and are very high on Nassib. "I know one thing for sure in talking to people around the league," Paolantonio reported. "The Buffalo Bills want Ryan Nassib. But they're very concerned the Jets will take him later in the first round. So the Bills may be forced to take him at No. 8." What an epic disaster that would be. The love affair with this average (at best) QB is mind boggling
  23. Why don't we just draft Otto the Orange while we're at it. Otto and Billy can fight it out at half time to determine whether we're really an NFL team or a Div. I college team.
