Cleveland Browns starter Brian Hoyer is out for the season with a torn ACL. Buffalo Bills rookie EJ Manuel was knocked out with a knee injury. Injuries are inevitable in the NFL, but Bills center Eric Wood upset with how the Browns responded to Manuel's injury. "The hit was fine, what ticked me off was the way they acted afterwards," said Bills center Eric Wood to the team's official website. "I hope our defense never acts like that when they injure an opposing quarterback. You've got to show some class in that situation. There's a few guys over there that obviously didn't." "You've got (Browns safety T.J. Ward yelling at Kiko (Alonso), a former college teammate, 'I told you to warn him that we were going to get him.' That's classless," Wood said. "Every team has probably got them. I'm not going to say that nobody on our team has ever done that, but it ticks you off when someone on the other team does it for sure." Watch the replay, you can make a case that Browns safety Tashaun Gipson should have been flagged for taunting. The Browns players celebrated after the hit, which was odd considering Manuel had just picked up a first down. The "Around The League Podcast" is now available on iTunes! Other than his Tuel comment, his entire post is ridiculous.
-
I disagree. Hoyer half-assed his slide and it appeared as if he didn't know what he wanted to do - slide head first, slide feet first or keep running. Kiko was already on his way to hit him. Both plays were clean, and unfortunately both QB's got injured.
-
me too man. the only concern I really have (beyond EJ's health) is Hackett. He's still a question mark for me. I don't know how much of this playcalling is held back b/c of a rookie QB or if this is how it'll be going forward.

Woke up this morning, feeling a little better

Great post by OP. Woods looks freaking awesome. And Kiko looks like an animal out there with his speed/aggression. EJ, Kiko, Woods all in one draft? That's what puts franchises over the top. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road for EJ. This defense is also looking MUCH better despite yesterday's score (very misleading final score); once we get Gilmore back, move Mckelvin over to CB2 and Williams to safety..this D looks very very promising. Lets just hope EJ returns fairly soon. -
where are you guys getting this info? I haven't seen anything officially posted. FML if this is true. Meanwhile Hoyer tore his ACL. Poor guy. You root for guys like him. He, much like EJ, shoulda just slid appropriately. Hoyer kinda half-assed his slide and EJ didn't slide/go out of bounds at all. No wonder Marrone looked pale on the sidelines in the 4th quarter last night. We won't win another game with Tuel at QB.

Ya sorry im on my stupid phone and didnt want to elaborate. I meant i thought his season was over when he got hit seeing his leg fly back.
-
What youre having a hard time comprehending is that the browns arent good bc they beat the bills. Theyre 3-2 and have some solid wins under their belt. They were already on the way up going into tonights game. A bad team wouldve packed it in down early.
-
Up until EJ got hurt i was feeling pretty good about how the game was shaping up. Browns have some playmakers.
-
Browns are an average team, like the bills. Certainly not bad.
-
According to marrone. Hopefully he can brace it up and play. I thought his season was over.

Im fairly confident that if ej mNuel was in that game we win the game. The D was gassed and he morale was in the toilet bowl

17 Extra Days To Recover & Prepare
bobobonators replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya, bye weeks can really go either way. Couple of things that are important in terms of bye weeks IMO are 1. injuries and 2. coaching. If you're a team that's pretty banged up (like the Bills) a Bye week can really be great. Also, if you're a team with a great coach, just the thought of giving someone like Belichick an extra week to scheme against you is a slight advantage IMO. Couple of things to note from what the OP stated: We already got the Jets after they came off a Thursday night game, so Rex had an extra 3 days to prepare his schemes. We will get the Dolphins after their bye week. And then the Jets again after their bye week? That's pretty rough to get so many games against divisional opponents coming off extended rest, IMO. We'll see how it plays out. At the end of the day if we're on a roll, who cares really. -
@Browns - Thursday Night Football

Just because its "average" for AP doesnt make it any less impressive. AP isnt a robot. Its average for AP and through only 4 games hes on pace for +1600yds rushing and 20td. Tthis back and forth is silly semantics. Hopefully we can get +100yds rushing vs browns but its doubtful. -

SOME = RAVENS and VIKINGS. But ya, Rice and AP are below avg running attack. Nonsense man. AP is 2nd in rushing the league after 4 games. This conversation is absurd. -

lol. I said SOME. And your comment about AP is laughable. Why bother. 1. We're 4 games into the season - calm down. Ray Rice = Elite. AP = Best RB in NFL. Stop making yourself look foolish and lets not get into semantics about what's "elite". If Ray Rice and AP aren't elite I sure as heck don't know what you consider elite. -

Peterson had 25 carries 88yds - 3.5avg. That's way below avg for him; Rice and Pierce combined for 32 carries and 93yds - very poor. Miami had a combined 23 carries for 20 yds - that's silly. Cincy had a combined 20 carries for 63yds - again bad. The Browns have stopped some elite rushing teams dead in their tracks. I expect more of the same vs. the Bills. Hopefully EJ will be able to pick up some yds on broken plays cuz I don't see CJ and Freddy picking up many yds against this D with Hackett's offense. -

At the same time, other than Ponder, EJ (right now) is by far the worst QB of that bunch (Tann/Flacco/Dalton).
