  1. I just dont see it. Theres something to be said about coaching and about having an attitude. Having the confidence of a winner. It goes beyond simply plugging in a player or two. I dont see it. Not with this coaching staff. Hope im wrong. Being like the hawks would be my dream.
  2. Hahahaha. Thats great.
  3. Hahah. I hear ya. Isn't that the entire NFL now? Every tackle is a celebration. Every first down is a pose. Allen from the chargers was pointing at his name after scoring a TD, despite being down two scores. It's silly. But it's not going to change anytime soon. The NFL is just a microcosm of American society as a whole.
  4. Fair enough. I understand where you're coming from. lol.
  5. That's an absolutely fair opinion. We can have a conversation about that and yet respectively disagree to a point. My entire prior post dealing with the "thugish" comment addressed an underlying feeling many have with Sherman, which only fuels the vitriol over Sherman's actions. That specific conversation is unwarranted.
  6. Someone on the radio last night compared the Patriots over the last few years to the Yankees after the end of their run years ago. The magic is certainly gone to a certain extent. Their future is murkier, no doubt. They still dominate during the regular season but when they get in the playoffs, the domination factor has faded.
  7. but would that have been "thugish" is my question. I think we both know the answer. We know what is indirectly meant by "thugish". Nothing Sherman did yesterday was "thugish"...over the top, sure. Call a spade a spade.
  8. How were his actions "thugish"? Define "thugish" for me. When Rivers was on the sideline yapping/making gestures at Cutler like a fool years ago in a blowout, were his actions "thugish" and lacking class? Or was that just Rivers acting silly. Manning and Brady are HOF QB's with generally calm demeanors - that's what helps them achieve THEIR greatness. Sherman is a ball-hawking defensive player that thrives by having a voracious attitude - that's what helps him achieve HIS greatness. Asking Sherman to act like Brady and Manning simply wouldn't work. Sherman talks a lot and then he backs it up on the field. Big deal. That's what makes sports entertaining. It's just a game to you and me. Football is Sherman's life; it's his job; it's his livelihood. Hundreds of millions of dollars are at play. PeeWee football is just a game. The NFL is not.
  9. Eh. Sherman right now is whistling "yeah you can tell everybody, im the man im the man im the man" Crabtree is a clown and i enjoyed every minute of that show last night. I woulda ran over to harbaugh if i was sherman an slapped him in the butt too. "You mad, bro?" "Shoulda drafted me..hahahahah."
  10. Exactly. Id love to know what MJ woulda said 20 yrs ago if he had a twitter handle.
  11. Would you rather Sherman have a domestic dispute like Tiger? Sherman is no different than many elite athletes. Ali was the greatest of all time and he let you know it. He also backed it up. Not much different really. Ali didnt have twitter and 24/7 sports channels repeating his statements for weeks.
  12. A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep. This guy is entertaining.
  13. Out of all those players i voted for Watkins bc i feel he is the most dynamic. But i would rather trade down.
  14. I do when i read about Sherman on the Bills message board.
  15. Huh? They are in the super bowl. The seahawks franchise is among the best in the NFL the last few yrs. I would say Carroll has plenty control over his team. Anyone on that team would run through a wall for their coach. How much control did policeman Marrone have over his team? The seatlle fans LOOOOOOVE this guy. Who the flipping hell CARES what we think or what the rest of the league thinks. Best CB in NFL. Loved by his fans. In the super bowl. Get over it.
  16. If at first you don't succeed....
  17. 1. Just b/c you post links to web sites and bloggers/ "writers" nobody has ever heard of (and never will hear of again), which so happen to share a similar opinion as you, doesn't change my mind 2. Russell was selected #1 overall in the 2007 NFL draft and was given a fat contract. He came out of college with huge expectations. His "tools" were unmatched and many scouts considered him to be one of the best QB prospects to ever come out of college and into the pros. Geno was none of that. 3. Russell was not an immediate starter in Oakland and sat on the sidelines for months until finally starting a game in December (ya, you forgot that little tidbit, didn't you). Geno was thrown to the fire from day 1, on an offense that everyone knew had 0 weapons. 4. Regarding your QBR comment (which is factually incorrect), when Russell had that stretch was in 2009 - in his 3rd season in the NFL; and Russell didn't have a QBR under 15 five games in a row, he had a QBR of 15 or less in 9 games in a row. So no, I'm not going to waste my time reading that article you managed to find somewhere in the depths of cyberspace. As for Geno, he DID NOT have a QBR less than 15 five games in a row - he had a QBR less than 15, three (3) games in a row, which he also happened to follow up with arguably the best stretch of his season where he played pretty damn well the final 4 games of the season. So Geno took his licks for about 60% of the season and then progressed nicely during the last quarter of the season. Russell was a complete unmitigated disaster in his 3rd season in the NFL. Again, where is the comparison? 5. Geno Smith, in his rookie season, finished 8-8. Russell had 8 total wins (for games he started) his entire career in Oakland (yeah, 3 years). So similar, I know. JaMarcus Russell is considered arguably the biggest bust in NFL history. Geno will never be that, however bad he is now or in the future. A much fairer comparison would be comparing Geno Smith to Mark Sanchez. Their rookie season stats are almost identical, except Geno threw for more yards, had a higher completion %, higher passing yards/attempt, a higher QBR, and more TD's (overall). Only difference between the 2 is that Sanchez and the Jets were able to back into the playoffs his rookie year at 9-7 and Geno was not at 8-8. But no, such a comparison is too difficult for some; comparing a black player to a non-black player (or vice/versa) is a stretch I suppose. It's so much easier to simply sit back, look at Geno and think, "yup, that's the next Jamarcus Russell right there."
  18. Karlos Dansby should be on this list
  19. Yeah man, I dont get it either. Some of the posts on here are ridiculous
  20. Jamarcus Russel and Geno Smith have nothing in common other than their race. You really have to work hard to be that simple-minded.
  21. During the last 3-4 games, Geno had the highest QBR in the NFL over that span. Though he was an abomination for about 60% of the season, he did show improvement at the end. He finished the season with an arrow pointing up, which is more that can be said for EJ unfortunately.
