  1. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Seahawks have "grown tired" of Marshawn Lynch's "ways," and he's not expected back with the team in 2015. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4186/marshawn-lynch
  2. Without seeing the pool its impossible to 100% analyze who he should take but the cowboys play skins again and jax. Id personally keep the cowgirls for one of those games. Jax isnt winning two in a row: miami wins easily. Look at Miami's schedule - you probably wont want to pick them again until week 16 or week 17. Do you really want to be holding that bag of poop week 16/17?
  3. I said to pick the steelers last week. Go with fins this week. I wouldnt waste cowgirls just yet.
  4. Though he may act "clownish" at times, I don't have much of a problem with Rex. I get the impression he's a good person overall. Seems to have his players' backs. Never throws anyone under the bus. Obviously I don't know him at all - just the impression I get. Bill B on the other hand doesn't come off as a clown, but rather a D-bag. Then again, I don't know him either.
  5. If every team in the NFL had a "B" team (like european soccer teams do) where players are signed right out of HS (or drafted - whatever)...and the NFLs "B" league played on saturdays, wouldnt everyone watch?? I know i would. Ratings would have to be high i imagine. Bc you have a vested interest in seeing players on your B team develop bc they will eventually be in the NFL in 2-3 yrs or even one year depending on how good they are. NFL would make money off of tv contracts to air those games and that would cover cost of "B" team. Pay players 50-60k a year. Youre still watching top talent bc these players are the same players that wouldve been playing on alabama, nd, usc, arkansas etc. instead now theyre in the B league.
  6. Only one way all this nonsense ends for good: NCAA athletics are not televised anywhere. Problem solved. When the focus stops being on the $$$ revolving around these games and placed back on the purpose of college - academics - then we'll see all of this nonsense end. We want to glamorize these athletes and have entire networks dedicated to their play, then have the professional leagues (nfl, nba, nhl, etc) set up junior leagues and televise games that way. Pay the players in the junior league and then glamorize them all you want. Instead of wasting everyones time by going to college, the elite players are recruited and paid to join junior leagues. Until that is done, we're just all blowing a lot of hot air bc the entire NCAA system is a sham.
  7. Ive never heard of that golden adage you speak of. I only know of the golden arches. Yum.
  8. This is the funniest thread ive read in a while. Supposed to be 60ish and sunny on sunday. Rex may throw a curveball
  9. Thats nuts. Yup, I'll stick with my original gut answer.
  10. You have SERIOUSLY lost it man. You're so far gone there's no getting you back. Just above EJ? In ONE LESS GAME THAN EJ, Orton already has more passing yards and the same amount of TD's - which happens to be the #1 purpose of a QB unlike your belief that the #1 purpose of a QB is to protect the ball - if that were the case, the QB would never pass and just kneel every play - there, ball protected. Again, IN ONE LESS GAME vs Defenses that are all ranked higher in pts/game against than the defenses EJ went against (including the chargers - lions give up less pts/game). He has already out thrown EJ and tied him in TD's. No OTAs. No training camp. Off the street. Off RETIREMENT. Orton is completing his passes at a 68.5% clip - WHICH IS 3RD IN THE LEAGUE ONLY BEHIND ROMO AND MANNING - compared to EJ's putrid 58.0% completion % which on par with the likes of Jake Locker and Geno Smith. Get a clue man.
  11. No cj, no FJ, worse OL, 4th and what conversion? Panthers comeback was good no doubt. This one was much more dramatic and difficult to achieve bc of the mentioned circustances. I dunno, they probably equal. That comeback vs panthers was impressive Having second thoughts. Not sure why you had to make this thread into another EJ debate
  12. I think its important to stay on topic w/o generalizations on both sides. The title of the thread said that SIGNIFICANT improvements are expected. Based upon our performances vs the Lions and Vikings( 17 pts in those games), its safe to say our Oline will have similar struggles vs the Jets, whos Dline is comparable to that of the lions and better than the Vikings. That being said, the Jets secondary is garbage and our WR should have a field day if we dont draw up plays that require orton to just stand back there for 5sec. Like other posters have mentioned, i would also like to see an approach that focuses more on quicker/shorter routes unless we see that the Jets arent getting that much pressure. We'll see. I expect a hard fought win.
  13. Im with you 100% on this. Perfectly stated
  14. Maybe im just being super conservative but i dont see us lighting up the JEts defense. If we had a better Oline id be more confident. But our oline is our weakest point and dline is their strongest point.
  15. If hes KR i expect At LEAST 10 times after our 10 scores
  16. lol..i think they're down pretty far already.
  17. Its not working for me
  18. Fitzy gonna have some TO if this pressure continues
  19. According to some, that play never happened. Orton threw a pick six and we lost that game.
  20. Good point about Fisher - that division has some of the best coaches in the league too, IMO. Harbaugh - beast. Carroll - beast; Fisher - very good; Arians - very good. There isn't a single "Marrone" in that division.
  21. Card are legit in my mind. They should have made the playoffs last year at 10-6. That defense is NASTY. The offense is good enough. They are for real. 49ers are still a top 10 team IMO. Losing in Denver in primetime in a game where Peyton was going to break an NFL record, I expected a dominant Denver win. I wouldn't be embarrassed about that loss - they never had a chance. The Rams have been in many games and are showing signs. The Hawks are struggling a bit but I think they'll come around eventually and probably finish 10-6. I actually think it's a pretty good division. I can see 3 of those 4 teams with a winning record to finish the season.
  22. For the 100th time. We just lost our two starting RB's - the heart and soul of the offense in FJ. Vegas does not take that lightly until we prove that we can run the ball w/o them. I mean we just played a Vikings team at home and the line was what, us giving 4 points? 4.5 points? And that was with CJ and FJ prior to the game. For Vegas, this line is a no brainer. The point of setting a line is to have bets on both sides of the spread. That would not happen if the Bills were giving points in this game. The line will probably move even more with us getting more points IMO. 1. critical Injuries for bills. 2. Road divisional game where we normally struggle in ny. 3. We havent covered last two weeks. We'll see what it is come friday.
  23. +1. And that's why i don't understand the entire debate. There is no debate. You want to improve the rest of the team/offense, improve the O-line b/c that's the only thing left to improve. Orton is the best option we have at QB right now, hands down. What is there to debate? We can resume this convo in the off season.
  24. yeah i completely agree with you about Rex and the Jets being up/down, i'm just saying that the only reason Vegas has us as underdogs (which in actuality we aren't b/c home team usually gets 3 points anyway) is that we just lost our 2 starting RB's. Vegas sees us as one-dimensional going on the road vs. a good Jets D. Vegas isn't dumb. They're saying this game is essentially 50/50. And they may be right. Hard to argue against that. That being said, I'll probably take the Bills getting the points. I feel we match up pretty well: we lead the league in sacks and we're going up against a QB who turns the ball over quite a bit. We're #1 in the league vs. the run (ypc) and the Run is the Jets strength. Our passing attack is better than our running attack right now, and that matches up well against the Jets' weaker pass D compared to their run D. So yeah, I'll take the Bills getting.
