  1. I personally like Rex and would love to have him lead us to the playoffs. Maybe he should just focus on being the HC though and leave the defensive game planning to someone else.
  2. Since 2015, we're 8-7 in games where we score 25 or more. During the same stretch, the Chiefs are now 13-1 after this past week's win vs. Atlanta. The Chiefs defense is legit. Ours is not. 13-1
  3. I 100% get what you're saying. The NFL is crazy unlike any other American sport in that there is such a frequent disparity between highs and lows from week to week. The season hangs in the balance every single week (even if it really doesn't), unlike any other sport. I'm trying to be 100% objective here, and it's hard as a fan. Going into this season there were numerous threads predicting the Bills' record this season. I would say the very large majority fell anywhere between 7-9 to 9-7 with the remaining prominent outliers at 6-10 and 10-6. We are currently at 6-6. The rest of our schedule looks favorable, but it's the NFL and you never know. Right now I'd say the Bills are well on their way towards meeting, and possibly exceeding fans' expectations. Of course, it's still possible that we end up 7-9 or even 6-10, though highly doubtful. We need to be more consistent on offense, and we need to be much better on defense. Overall though, I just don't see why panic should set in. Right now, we essentially are who we thought we were going to be. The Oakland game was a bad loss. Bad losses happen. It was a complete failure across the board for the players and coaches. Hopefully they learn from it and move on. Hopefully the coaches and players can see how they dominated the game vs a great opponent, but couldn't finish. Hopefully they learn how to finish as a team more often than not going forward.
  4. Next time Shady breaks an 80yd run we should tell him to stop short of the end zone so the defense can catch its breath. Poor guys. If they don't want to be on the field as much, they're welcome to force the opponent into a 3 and out as well.
  5. Kansas City is #1 during that stretch at 35.71% (a real defense). Overall, Bills are 19th in the NFL in red zone defense (TD's only). I believe we were ranked near the top in the first half of the season, and we're literally dead last in the second half of the season (over the last 6 games or so). Meanwhile, Buffalo's offense is #6 in the NFL in red zone scoring (TD only) and 9th overall in points. We must cluster our scoring. Our defense gets winded.
  6. In the last 3 weeks, the Bills defense is ranked second to last in the NFL in red zone defense, giving up TD's in 87.5% of the opponent's trips into our red zone. Honestly, I thought that number was going to be much closer to 100%. Somehow, we're 2-1 during that stretch. Must be the offense's fault.
  7. Defense is about as stout as paper mache.
  8. Agreed. The Offense is blamed for scoring too quickly. The offense is blamed for going 3 and out. The defense can only stop an opposing offense if it's approximately 55 degrees, with a northwest wind (as long as it's not over 8mph), and a humidity level at about 55%. We wouldn't want this Bills defense to face any kind of adversity.
  9. this is being discussed elsewhere on the first page http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/189041-tracking-the-defense/page-7
  10. After all that RG3 has been through, I'm rooting for him to turn his career around. It would be a great redemption story in Cleveland, for both the team and the player...just not vs us.
  11. Overall, I 100% agree with everything you said. Above all, I think we should actually let the season play out, before commenting on "turning things around".
  12. JMC, lets not circle jerk e/o please.
  13. I 100% agree with everything you said. My point being, it's not that simple to find a winning strategy. A great QB is obviously the goal of any franchise. However, plenty of franchises still manage to win games and make it to the playoffs with average QB play.
  14. Simple, b/c TT wasn't starting before 2015.
  15. But that's the thing though, Vic obviously didn't think the Bills were average heading into this game. No objective person would pick an average team to go into Oakland and beat the Raiders. Vic could've said "Few people, including myself, expected these Bills to go into Oakland and actually upset the high-powered Raiders" But he didn't say that. He said he was anticipating the upset. So on Friday, December 2, 2016, Vic thought that Rex, TT, the defense, the morale, etc was good enough to upset the Raiders. Not to compete, not to keep it close, but to upset the Raiders. On December 7, 2016, it's panic mode. I'm sorry, but are you a fan or a reporter? I get you want people to read your articles, but please stay objective with your expectations and analysis.
  16. Even after last week's loss and the Colt's win against the Jets, Tyrod has a better winning % than Luck since 2015. The colts have gotten progressively worse since the 2014 season, in the vaunted AFC South. If it was all about the QB, the super bowl would have the GOAT Brees playing in it every single season. Saints can't even make the playoffs for 3 years.
  17. I guess you could make that argument. But in your hypothetical, just think about what you're saying here: Vic believed that the Bills were going to go into Oakland and beat the then 9-2 Raiders who, along with the Cowboys, are everyone's darlings right now. So how do you go from THAT, to THIS in less than 5 days? I just can't reconcile that disparity. It's the Love/Hate nonsense that's expected of a fan on this board.
  18. You can't say "I thought the Bills were going to beat Oakland" 5 days ago, and now there are serious concerns 5 days later. That represents the bipolar nature of being a Buffalo Bills sports fan and nothing more - the very same things we see in this forum. If Oakland represents everything that is currently great in the NFL, how bad can the Bills be if Vic 5 days ago expected them to actually upset the Raiders. But now 5 days later everything is in the toilet bowl? Ok. A lot of people need to be medicated. That's the only thing I'm seeing from Bills fans and sports writers.
  19. Can we at least wait until the season is over before we figure out what we need to turn around? We're 6-6, not 3-9. We have more negative threads on here than in the Jets forum.
  20. To be fair: weeks 11-13 they played the browns and a no Luck colts team. They did play Eli week 13 though and did well.
  21. Im excited for this game. I felt we matched up well vs Oakland and for 60% of the game we dominated them. I feel we match up even better vs Pitt and its at home. We need to play smart and believe in ourselves. We need to believe we can beat a franchise like Pitt and then execute for a full 60min.
