  1. thanks was thinking of prior year.
  2. We were among the highest scoring offenses last year WITHOUT an effective/healthy Watkins for basically the entire season. 7-10 more points to what we scored last year per game would've made us probably the greatest offense in the history of the NFL
  3. I think this is the best way to mentally accept this trade. Right now are we better at WR than we have been 80% of the time the last 2 seasons: I think all of us can confidently say Yes. Of course Watkins is a rare talent. Nobody will argue that. I guess the way I'm starting to look at it is that it's hard to miss something that we rarely ever had to begin with.
  4. uhm, that Walker trade involved 18 players (and picks). This is no Walker trade.
  5. It's tough to say. I don't think anyone can argue that a healthy Sammy on this roster doesn't make us better. A healthy Sammy Watkins is a huge factor and this team is better for it. However, it's hard to actually visualize that b/c it hasn't really happened the last couple of years. Right now, you can make the argument that this team has a much better WR corps than it did for almost all of last season with Sammy out or being ineffective due to injury. So are we better than we were last year? Technically, the answer is most likely Yes. Are we better than we would be with a healthy Sammy? No, we're not.
  6. So our WR corps is better than it was last season and we picked up an extra draft pick and CB. True. He'll probably obtain Robert Woods money depending on how he does this season.
  7. This is a good way to look at it. Good post. Sammy was essentially a non-factor last season so lets forget about him one second. Right now is our WR corps better than it was last season? I'd say yes, very much so.
  8. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. Goff is is QB now. He's no Matt Ryan.
  9. ha. it's sad b/c from day one 99.9% of Bils fans were 200% in on Sammy. He was going to be our star...until he wasn't. He never appeared to really fit in with this franchise (obviously mostly b/c of injuries). "What if I told you...." 30for30 in 15yrs here we come!
  10. The most frustrating part of all this is that we trade up for Watkins. He was supposed to be the face of our franchise for years to come. And we get a second round pick for him and an average CB? That's the best we could do for a 24yr old Watkins?
  11. It's certainly possible. It's not like Sammy has been putting up 1300/1400yd seasons. Goff is throwing him the ball. Maybe Oriovsky will be his QB..who knows.
  12. True. But at least he plays? 95.83% of his games?
  13. I don't see a thread actually welcoming him aboard, so I figured I'd start one. Career 225 REC 2,673 YDS 11.9 AVG 78 LNG 19 TD Solid WR entering his prime. Only one year older than Sammy. Go BILLS?
  14. Hes probably happy. We are a run first, second, and third team. More focus on him. Better numbers for him. How many times has shady been on the field with a healthy Sammy? 8?
  15. Im as positive as anyone, but today is pretty hard to swallow. To pull this **** on the fanbase 4 weeks before the start of the season is a kick in the nuts. Only possible spin: we are a run first team therefore elite WR are not needed. Sammy prob wasnt coming back next yr and we get a draft pick back for him along with a CB, who if healthy, is prob better than Darby. Darby is pretty bad.
  16. Well said, especially when this is the first couple of series of the preseason and people are already lambasting players and bringing absolutely nothing but negativity to the board. Nobody wants to read that nonsense. Nobody.
  17. You don't get it. You clearly don't. Algebra has absolutely nothing to do with Law. Nothing. But you know what? You need a damn college degree in order to apply to law school. And you know what, you need to know algebra in order to obtain a college degree. Go complain about it how it's not fair. We all know it's not "fair" but we suck it the hell up and go through with it, you know why? Bc we want to reach that goal. If we didn't want to reach that goal, we would drop out. The NFL is a PRIVATE EMPLOYER. The NFL can say they want you to stand on one foot for half an hour while chewing gum and reciting the alphabet backwards before you're eligible for hire. And you know what? THEY CAN DO THAT. If you don't want to jump through that hoop, then you shouldn't apply to the NFL. The NFL wants their employees to attend college for a few years before they can apply. They have every right to request that.
  18. Do you even realize what you're arguing? Everyone should argue the following then: Why do we need to go to college in order to join the workforce? It's all a scam. Screw it I'm revolting. It's not fair. Who the heck cares if you're good at football? Playing football isn't a right in life, it's a privilege. If you want that privilege, you jump through the hoops. What's so difficult to understand about that? We aren't arguing about basic human rights here. We're arguing about the opportunity to play for the NFL - a private entity. If you're really good at football and don't want to jump through their hoops, go play for the CFL then. Or go play on some 3rd rate team in Germany somewhere.
