I still think a big focus next draft is going to be finding a MLB field general like the Panthers had in Keuchly. Micah Kiser from Virginia would be awesome.
Weird situation. I find it fascinating how someone (regardless of their field of work) can literally work their entire life towards achieving a goal only to realize after reaching their goal that it's not what they wanted. Life.
I believe the best way to attack this defense is the way we should've attacked the Panthers: Spread the defense out, instantly creating space for Shady and Tyrod. Call some misdirection plays. Run some play action on 1st down. Get the pocket moving a bit more.
He has been amazing. It's crazy to think we changed the entire secondary from last year and the results show so far.
The rookie Tre White has also made some nice plays in coverage.
All kidding aside. This offense has a long way to go from offering a rookie QB help. We need upgrades on the OL, a legit explosive WR, and we'll need a RB in 1-2yrs
Fair point. But Im not sure if the primary issue from yesterdays game is a lack of Watkins. We missed a deep threat in many games last year and still put up points in bunches. The inability to adjust the offensive gameplan yesterday to counter what the defense was doing was the primary problem imo. We should have spread out the defense much earlier once it was clear we couldnt ground and pound them. Spreading out the defense wouldve mitigated the Panthers' speed and aggressiveness and wouldve given Tyrod the option to find the receiver or scramble for positive yards. That shouldve been the priority to start the second half.
The game @ Miami last yr Shady had like 8 carries for 11 yards and left injured.
We had no Woods.
We had no Watkins.
We scored 25 points and TT had over 250 total yards and 2TD.
This offense is nowhere near that.
