Plus, none of those other coaches had Josh Allen. I could make a reasonable argument that a Dick Jauron or Chan Gailey could have squeezed out 3 or 4 more wins a season with the rosters they had plus a Josh Allen. And made the playoffs. How many games does McDermott win with a Kyle Orton or EJ Manuel utilizing his "process", culture, and vastly superior football intellect with the roster at his disposal? I say all this about McDermott but I also have to say Beane is accountable for blunders and oversights that have put Sean in some tough spots which have mostly been covered over by extraordinary play from the QB. But that gripe is a story for another topic.

The US economy is like my brother-in-law. Maybe some of you know somebody like this fellow? He lives the good life by spending a lot more than he makes, buys lots of fancy toys, always has a new car, is first in line to get the latest, but incurs a lot of debt and likely has no savings or investments, and then eventually either has to declare bankruptcy, downsize his lifestyle, or coerce my sister to mooch off my parents by tapping them for money (in the case of the US the parents are China, the Saudi's, Japan, and other large foreign buyers of US debt). Meanwhile, I run a tight fiscal ship. Save and invest for the future and live without a lot of flash and cash spending. Compared to him I look like some poor schmuck. But when it comes to fiscal health, looks can be deceiving. When you look under the covers, just like our debt ridden economy, my brother-in-law appears to be a lot more affluent than me but in reality they're broke. GDP growth or no growth that's our economy folks. A debt fueled illusion. Celebrate these "good" number all you want but the end to it all is coming fast. For Biden's crew the goal is to maintain the illusion until the election is over and the wham, bam, thank yo maam.

Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

You do understand your opinions generally support the Biden administration that represents the interests of the Washington establishment that engages in "colonialist" polices in places like Central America? -

You're the one that proclaimed the majority are coming from South America so I assumed you had some numbers at your disposal to share but if you're not willing to back up your claim then fine with me. -
At this point the climate change argument is a zero sum game because if you're burning coal and natural gas to produce electricity to power your vehicle fleet in order to avoid burning gasoline to power your vehicle fleet then its just moving the carbon emissions to another point in the delivery system. It just provide a feel-good moment for EV drivers to believe they're doing something positive about the climate. When there's a renewable grid powering the majority EV charging let us know.

Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

I don't need a map. I need you to tell me which South American countries people are coming from and how many people from each? If you can't answer that then how do you know the majority come from there? I think you might be mixing up South America with Central America so you might want to check that map you mentioned. -

I can't make a major fuss when they vote the MVP to Lamar Jackson but for what its worth the award goes to the best player on the team with the best record.

McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning
All_Pro_Bills replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
What matters as much as winning at this point in McDermott's tenure as HC is expectations. In his first year this team exceeded expectations, made the playoffs with help from an act of God dramatic ending from the Bengals against the Ravens the last week of the season, and played a close game with a valiant effort in the wildcard round but lost. Against the background of the historical playoff drought Sean McDermott was nothing short of a savior. Good times were ahead and improvement in the seasonal record was coming. And so it did, with the team winning 4 straight AFCE titles capped by this seasons amazing come from behind title at the wire. But in the last 4 years they've lost to the Chiefs in the AFCC and 3 times in the divisional round against, the Chiefs, Bengals, and Chiefs. And the current Bills have played under, not make the playoff expectations, but Super Bowl expectations. I'll challenge anyone to argue the Bills met their personal expectations or the expectations of the team, or football "experts" picking them to win it all or make the big game. I think you can win the SB with Sean McDermott but in order for that to happen he's going to need an improved roster, a bit of luck, Josh Allen at his best, and some improvement in his decision making in order to give him the greater margin of error required to counter the impact of his errors and shortcomings. For 2024, that means getting better all around the HC. Getting the coordinator and coaching staff decisions right, solving the cap problem, getting injured players back at 100%, hitting on almost every single draft pick this Spring, and having an lower tier free agents signed playing above their pay level. I'm a little hesitant to take that bet. -

That's what they told Sabres fans about HC Lindy Ruff's tenure and one Stanley Cup final appearance in 14+ seasons and for a football reference the Bengals fans through 16 years of Marvin Lewis. Continuity. I'm not advocating for firing McDermott but his time as HC is littered with one time in a million last minute gaffes and inexplicable and unexplained decisions and events. If there's somebody out there ownership and the front office believe gives the organization a better shot then don't be afraid to take it. -

If you're like me you thought this while watching the game and not after Monday morning quarterbacking the thing to death with the benefit of hindsight. That's why the missed FG didn't bother me as much as it should have because while they lined up for that missed kick I said even if they tie the game they'll lose 30-27. -

What's mind blowing is they did a superlative job of executing the possession strategy up to that point in time. So either: Allen went off script, ignored those shorter underneath throws to move the chains, and took those deeper throws. Which means he ignored the instructions of the HC/OC. Or Allen was given no specific instructions, and they never discussed anything specific about remaining focused and committed to the ball control time of possession game and keeping the defense off the field as long as possible. Both are concerning possibilities. -

In a nutshell, out of the 2 minute warning the play calls needed to be continuing the possession strategy of the 58 minutes to that point. Score points and not give the ball back to the Chiefs with sufficient time left on the clock which could allow them to win the game in regulation. As with past gaffes there's an unexplained disconnect that we'll be left to speculate about once again. But yeah, ultimately it falls on the guy in charge. -

The Bills played a time of possession strategy for 58 minutes and then after the 2-minute rather than continuing to methodically work the ball closer to the goal line and run the clock they mysteriously went with downfield passes. I can lay this on Allen but did the coaches make it clear to him that we're going to play for the "last shot" situation? Win or lose leave little to nothing on the clock? Whether it was a communication issue or a change in direction, I put that on McDermott and Brady. I expect the 2024 season's excuse will be cap problems which hurt the team's ability to build depth and fill all the holes left in the roster through expiring contracts and other loss of players. But that's Beane. -

A lot of migrants aren't coming from South America. Should we be obliged to "fix" all those countries too? And what specific things would you suggest we do? -
Sounds like these airlines have decided that hiring mechanics that know the difference between a torque wrench and a hammer doesn't matter as long as they've got the right cultural mix on the team. If you plan on flying commericial from here on then pack a chute in your carry-on.

Just like the flow of migrants didn't matter until they were inconvenienced in their sanctuary cities, the libs won't start caring about terror threats (they only care about the domestic one's the government manufacturers for now) until they start getting blown up. Even then, fools they are, the wokest will somehow manage to victimize the perps. Until then, deaf ears. -
More fuel for your fire. If there is an attack I say it with 100% certainty you'll blame Trump for it. Am I right? It couldn't have anything to do with years after year of millions of unvetted border crossers under President Blunder. You're the one making anecdotal associations between Trump and Putin without any specific facts or rational motive and my story is just not convincing?
