When you’re white - they let you do it
All_Pro_Bills replied to BillStime's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The facts are every day the NYC local news runs stories about some criminal with 10 to 20 priors that was released without bail a few days early slashing, stabbing, shooting, raping, robbing, assaulting, murdering somebody on the streets or in the subway. That's the facts. -

Argue all you want. Everybody knows liberal prosecutors in blue states go easy on criminals. And no bail laws force judges to put them back out on the street to commit more crimes against citizens. And the police need "permission" from political leaders to enforce law and order. Its all FUBAR. -
White privilege is something DEI practitioners that grew up in upper-middle-class households accuse working white people of when they don't buy into their indoctrination sessions. I attended a diversity session at a former job which I have to admit was led by the most honest trainer. After receiving a lot of push back she said and I quote "the training didn't take with this group so we might need to re-do the sessions". But its not indoctrination. Its training in an inclusive setting. If and when somebody accuses you of that point out their privileges. They have the privilege of invoking racism as an excuse for all of their personal failures. Something white people don't have the luxury of doing.

If I was going to "fix" social security I would run off the current program to zero and transition contributions of younger workers to individual 401k type accounts managed by a group of investment fund groups like Vanguard and Fidelity which could choose a mix of income and growth options to balance risk and reward for the account holder. When they retire I would expect they'd have a decent size balance which could provide a much larger income stream in retirement than the current system. I would also make withdrawals tax-free. Let's not forget employers also pay into the fund. I'd also eliminate SSI and other programs which draw money from Social Security for reasons other than retirement and transfer those types of payments and needs to another fund specifically for that use. A major issue is what to do about people that don't work and don't contribute. Should workers be required to foot the bill for them? Or is there another safety net that might be better applied? But "privatizing" SS has been proposed before and rejected mainly because the government uses the SS fund deposits for general government budget purposes in exchange for treasury bond IOU's. I believe the SS fund is the largest holder of US government debt.

One thing I keep hearing is the idea that corporations suddenly got greedy when Joe Biden took office. Fact is they've always been greedy. If the administration was truly concerned then they should identify areas of market concentration and potential monopoly pricing power and initiate the proper anti-trust actions to break up those price-setting cartels and improve market competition. That's something, a populist thing, that everybody can wrap their arms around and support. The greed narrative is a myth perpetrated by the administration to explain away any complicity they might have in driving inflation higher. A trillion dollars added to the deficit about every quarter. That's seems extreme given the story that the economy is the strongest ever. Traditionally, when the economy is so strong such stimulus is not needed. My conclusion is the strength cited is the result of government stimulus not organic growth in the economy. Stop those big government spending programs and the metrics fall on their face and reveal the true condition of things. Not so good.

Frankly, I'm confident I can beat Biden at a debate just by sticking to the facts and laying out a positive vision for the future. More or less just do the opposite of everything Biden has done and will do. And Trump too can easily win the debate, if he sticks to the numbers, statistics, facts and figures about the state of the economy, the 4 trillion dollar deficits, the disaster at the border, weaponizing of the legal system. and almost everything else this administration has done. But he won't stick to the facts and figures and lay out the future under his administration. He'll dive into personal attacks, bemoan the fact he's a target of legal actions, and resort to name-calling. Better to not agree so quickly to the Biden camp''s terms but too late for that to happen.

Stock prices are inflated too as each 2024 dollar is worth less than each 2020 dollar. And current market movements reflect speculation on interest rate policy direction, up on speculation of cut, down on speculation of no cuts, and not so much the condition of the economy. And almost all of the gains are concentrated in share prices of 5 to 7 companies. A big crash is coming. Likely late Summer.

No, I mean things like US troops being kicked out of Niger bases and replaced by Russian forces while on the way out. Over a few years our influence and position on the African continent has been marginalized to almost nothing. Same thing happening as China moves into South America. The "not welcome" mat being hung on in places like Iraq and Syria. 3/4 of the world taking the other side in the Ukraine war. The useless sanctions Biden placed on Russia that have not hurt Putin but have been devastating to American citizens faced with massive inflationary pressures caused by market disruptions and higher oil prices. As for the war, how about depleting western stockpiles of weapons and ammunition to dangerously low levels (and sending most of that to Israel) while Russia has tripled their production of items like artillery shells and bombs while we dip into dwindling supplies to fuel and unwinnable war. All for nothing. What level of armaments do you think China is ready to throw at Taiwan vs. what we can muster? Should we even mention the Afghanistan debacle? We've been strategically maneuvered into a bad position by our enemies as a result of absent leadership and brain power in the White House and when our actual vested interests are threatened we'll be caught with our pants down around our ankles assuming the bend over and take it position from XI and China. The actual 1st team threat. -

Have you ever contemplated the fact that Putin got exactly the result he wanted in 2020? The weakening of America under Joe Biden couldn't have worked out better for Xi and Putin and their buddies. Maybe your just a patsy? -

What I find astonishingly clueless is the hubris of Americans moaning about foreign election interference, especially the fake kind, when our government through the State Department and agencies like the CIA, has interfered with more foreign elections and governments than any other nation. Its just a quid pro quo game. -
Expect they all have contingency plans in place to use all those stolen billions for when everything breaks down to flee to a very comfortable lifestyle at expensive villas in Italy and then later will join the speaking tour to advance the cause of "democracy". Of course our government in Washington knows full-well whats going on and perhaps is getting a cut of the action to look the other way. But all's good for the cause of "democracy". Or so the fools believe that's what its all about.

It's a reflection on the educational system and social justice doctrine that everything is automatically the fault of some white guy. -
I think the industry and the various ways to provide consumers with programming choices and subscription options comes down to a constant battle between the people providing the service vs. the people producing the content. Both want your money but how it gets divided between them is a lot of back and forth. In this case the NFL "owns" the content and is comfortable with the service providers on various platforms and media to bid against each other to maximize the leagues "take". Consumer convenience and access isn't much of a concern.

I won't be watching and wonder if anyone feels like I do here. I had Directv Sunday Ticket for a long time and watched every Bills game. Then the contract went to YouTube and I said enough. Last year I was fortunate. I was able to watch 13 of the Bills 17 games without Sunday Ticket or shelling out any money for extra streaming services. This year or in the future, if their game is on some streaming service I don't already has then so be it. From what I've gotten out of the schedule leaks so far it doesn't sound like the Bills are going to be playing Christmas Day so missing some games of other teams is no big deal.

I continue to stress the problem faced by Ukraine is a lack of troops for combat operations as a result of multiples of dead and wounded greater than the official government numbers report. You can't set up defensive lines and fall-back positions if you barely have enough soldiers to man the front lines. And going on the offensive would be next to impossible. No amount of weapons or money is going to solve the manpower problem. They need more soldiers, plain and simple. The cheerleaders can wave their pom-poms all they want but its becoming clear there's a need to negotiate or face defeat. The remaining option would be to directly intervene with US and/or NATO country combat forces. Something that would be immensely unpopular. Its certain the domestic propaganda machine will keep drilling the public with the "domino theory" narrative. My expectation is Washington would demand some European nation(s) sends their soldiers into the meat grinder rather than face the ire of US voters in November.

All the price increases are due to corporate greed and have nothing to do with states imposing 15 to 20 dollar minimum wage laws and increases in the price of input prices due to things like sanctions and regulations. Also. Watch for a lower CPI number coming out. An illusion to quell inflation talk. Because Biden desperately needs it for rate cuts gooing into November. So it magically shall be.

I'm concerned with the potential for individual acts of voter fraud and not some nebulous potential for "widespread" fraud. I've identified several known scenarios of potential fraud. The voting process needs to provide citizens the confidence that elections are free and fair and known opportunities for fraud are addressed so they don't happen. Otherwise, it will leave opportunity for people of all political views, regardless of the result, to suggest and charge the election results are suspect and they'll be within reason to raise that issue. The goal is to eliminate the possibility of fraud rather than responding to it after the fact. Why are you against making sure every vote cast is valid?
-
As long as we all believe only citizens should vote and only vote once and there should be some form of voter identification to weed out any potential fraud and the process of mail in signature verification is legitimate and state laws and rules about late ballot disqualifications are enforced properly we should be okay. I think that covers it.

I disagree. I think the far-left ideologists that control the Democratic party are more inclined to threaten democracy through their authoritarian tendencies and disastrous social agenda than any populist movement inside the Republican party. For all his faults and character flaws 4 years of Trump would likely do far less damage than another 4 years of Biden. In my initial comments, I should have included I would prefer somebody else to either.

Under Biden the US national debt has risen by $5.7 trillion. The accumulation of debt is what fuels the illusion of a growing and healthy economy. A trillion is a big number. A debt and currency crisis is unavoidable regardless of the 2024 election results. But they won't stop spending. Neither major party has the will to do what is necessary. This doesn't even include State and local government debt, agency issued debt, or the debt of private citizens and corporations. Whatever your views, all you can do is protect yourself from financial disaster as best as possible. That means getting a portion of your investments, if you have any, out of the US dollar. Into things like emerging economy funds or precious metals, or crypto. Into hard assets like real estate. When it happens exactly is guess work but the impact will be devastating.
