  1. It's another big money hustle. All these NGOs get billions to support an army of otherwise unemployed activists. Governments and investment banks on Wall Street are salivating at the idea of creating carbon credits traded thru a big profitable exchange while the public gets screwed with more taxes, fees, and increased product costs. The wealthy talk the game , generate PR and make appearances, but don't play the game, yachting and flying all about. Meanwhile, China and India pump out two addition units of CO2 for everyone one unit we're coerced to eliminate. On logical inspection it's all quite ridiculous. Sadly all the slogans and bought off "scientists" are out there to thwart logic and questioning.
  2. NATO has no other mission than addressing "threats" from Russia. A mission, I promise everyone supporting or not supporting that alliance, that will never end. If the mission was ever proclaimed complete the reasons for the existence of the alliance would no longer be valid and the alliance would have no reason to exist. No threats to address, no wars to prepare for against Europe. But civilian and military leaders invested in continuing NATO will never allow that to happen. Its simply not in their best interests to ever eliminate the Russian "threat". So they will gleefully milk the taxpayers of a couple dozen nations and keep up the ruse that Russia is intent on re-assembling the Soviet Union. Something they not only have no desire to do but also something they don't have the economic or military capabilities to pull off. So the charade will continue.
  3. How do you know where they are? Do you have intimate knowledge of the deployment plan? Are you on the ground in DC monitoring the movements of the Guard? Or relying on some leftist clowns on the internet for your information? Did it occur to you they're deploying the NG to some areas and not others to free up DC police to concentrate on high crime areas.
  4. Well, one thing is certain. When a deal is reached and all is said and done its a 100% certainty these folks won't like it no matter what the terms and conditions of the agreement. If Vegas was laying odds I'd bet the farm on that. Its a surer thing than betting heads on the toss of a two-headed coin. It's how TDS mental patients roll.
  5. It still is successful. Demonstrated by the fact the candidate that won the most votes and carried the Electoral College is currently the President. Just because you don't like the result doesn't mean democracy isn't working.
  6. The lesson is the political change only happened after the socialist government ran out of other people's money to hand out in what was simply a vote buying racket. That in a nutshell is democratic socialism. Vote for me and I'll give you free stuff. If you dissect the rhetoric, like cheap or free housing, subsidized groceries, free buses, tax the rich, that's the entire strategy. Nothing they say provides any hint of creating productive activity or growth. Its all about consumption and redistribution. And it works very well until it doesn't. In Bolivia the socialist failed to get an iron grip on power before the money ran out. Because in most cases you can vote your way into socialism but once the masses figure out the free stuff party is over you can't vote your way out.
  7. If Democrat Mayor's and AG's that pursue anti-policing policies, coddle and nurse criminals, and fail to prosecute criminal acts, allowing for example looting to be deemed shopping sprees did not disregard the law and the safety of their citizens no intervention at the Federal level would be necessary. The message to them is drop the social experiment and do your job. As for AOC, let's wait until she has an original idea before the coronation.
  8. Foriegn policy failure? This guy must have been drunk when he wrote this. Remember the time Biden flew to Saudi Arabia begging for support and MBS wouldn't even meet with him? That's a failure.
  9. You're ignoring the law. The government must follow the law too. They can't give knowingly false testimony to a Grand Jury to produce indictments by lying to the court. They can't secure warrants by providing false probable cause to a judge. That's what they did. So please stop with this nobody is above the law routine. At the time the FBI acted above the law while colluding with a specific politcal campaign and I hope every single person involved does a long stretch in Levenworth. It's time for consequences.
  10. But the collusion story was fake. Made up by Clinton's campaign. Used to provide agencies probable cause to investigate. In short a hoax. So what did he obstruct? A real investigation of a fake and manufactured hoax? Who cares? Now investigate the people that concocted the hoax. Let's discuss that.
  11. The DC police union said they're around 25% under-staffed. The cops will take the point on engaging with the public while the Guard will assume secondary duties to free up more cops for active law enforcement. Expectations and alarm the NG is going to partake in firefights and house searches in pursuit of criminals are uninformed speculation. Drama from the usual voices. The Democrats jumping ip and down on the furniture once again look like mind blowing imbeciles. Because it's working and getting results. The paid protests composed of out of town bused in white liberals look ridiculous. I when is the last time they took a position that has actual public support? Figure it out already. The other change is the perps will actually be facing consequences with no catch and release.
  12. Switzerland has a higher rate of gun ownership but few homicides. And in major US cities with crime issues guns are already illegal. In American cities most crimes are related to "Ghetto" behavior and culture.
  13. My expectations were low because I don't believe a negotiated peace is possible without major concessions from both sides. Russia wants territorial concessions and a neutral Ukraine, no NATO membership, and a rollback of NATO forces from their border with specific security guarantees. Ukraine and Europe want a do over. Unconditional peace and complete Russian withdrawal from occupied territories, NATO and EU membership, and the continuation of encircling Russia and placing offensive weapons at their border. Something has to give or war goes on.
  14. Secretly Trump blames the Toronto based bidder which included Bon Jovi for him losing the bidding for the Bils NFL franchise. Won by Terry Pegula. That is the reason he's hostile to Canada. The plan is to takeover our neighbor to the north and after occupation ban all Canadians from becoming Bills season ticket holders and sign an emergency order to prohibit any Canadian based team from winning the Stanley Cup. Liberals have filed an injunction claiming the EO is not only illegal but redundant.
  15. And Putin arrived wearing a red Speedo emblazoned with hammers and sickles!
  16. Not a big KISS fan either but I attended a concert which was part of the last of a string of farewell tours. It was a good show. Played their hits, performed their antics, and lots of flames shooting up into the area giving off a lot of heat you could feel. Going onto the concourse to the rest room and concessions provided some entertainment seeing numerous fans dressed in KISS attire via the full body amour look. Always amazing people can be so passionate about such things. But nothing like the old days when the show ended and the lights went on to reveal the entire arena filled with pot smoke! Still in those days no metal detectors, bag searches, or pat downs were needed. While the atmosphere was a little crazy it was still generally civil.
  17. Russia has eliminated the use of the US dollar in Central Bank reserves and has established bi-lateral currency arrangements with partners such as China and India. And has pretty much written off the frozen assets held in the US and European banking systems. So direct sanctions have little effect on them domestically. From all the bluster it sounds like the idea is putting pressure on India which is importing a lot of Russian oil. Using some and reselling the rest out the back door at a profit. How effective those sanction would be is TBD. Then of course there's China.
  18. Sounds like a reasonable approach. Regards..
  19. Easier said than done. But I'm willing to listen to the details of your plan. More sanctions? Sanctions against they're trading partners? Something else?
  20. I think the distinction between those previous administrations and Trump is the city of Washington used to have a mayor, prosecutors, and law enforcement motivated to address crime. They acted in a professional manner, saw it as the job, and they did it to the best of their ability. Now Democrats have adopted a soft on crime policy approach in major cities, including Washington. Its not that they don't know how to address the problem, they just don't want to do anything about it. You see stories where some chronic criminal gets arrested assaulting some 80 year old walking down the street and its disclosed the guy was arrested 10 times in a year for the same crime and he's release on zero bail and the DA refuses to prosecute. On top of it, anyone that lifts a finger to defend themselves against thugs and on the loose mental patients received more scrutiny from the local DA then the low life that attacked them. How in the world do Democrats see this as a winning strategy? How can anyone be that stupid? Maybe its not stupidity but instead Rule Number One, anything Trump is for we need to be against regardless of all other factors. Now who's in a cult?
  21. Just like that? Tell Putin that if he doesn't back down the US will enter the war? And just go back to your place in the world order where we are empowered to dictate to you what you can and cannot do? And you obey. That tough guy approach might work with the administration at Harvard but its quite likely it won't against Russia. Or China that is waiting on-deck to take Taiwan at a moment the US is occupied elsewhere.
  22. As Russia will never accept those terms without previously stated security guarantees a war of attrition goes on where the math favors Russia absent any direct intervention by Europe or America. My dad used to lead lots of negotiations. Labor agreements, contracts, that kind of stuff. He said you need to do at least three things going in. 1) understand what you want out of the final deal and more importantly what the other guy wants. 2) defend your vested interests but be willing to concede points that you find non-critical or unimportant that the other side finds essential to the agreement 3) don't expect the other guy to agree to demands you make that you're in no position to make. You did #3. Russia leaves. Ukraine continues to lose soldiers and territory over time as the Russians slowly grind forward and the longer they wait the more territory they stand to lose. More weapons won't reverse this trend. @sherpa already explained this above no deal scenario.
  23. Like I said 4 1/2 years of silence.
  24. And there it is. An objective, sane, rational assessment of the situation from the perspective of both sides of the conflict. Kudos.
