I agree in general with a couple modifications: I think there's a one-party system in place where power behind the screens calls the shots and the differences and conflict between the two major party's is purely for entertainment and dramatic purposes. Give the voters the illusion of choice every 2 or 4 years while establishing differences at the edges but not yielding on any vital interests or policies. Influential billionaires, large powerful corporations, global interests all pull the strings and call the shots. Members of both parties are well compensated for their efforts. As for the CIA I think its goals are the same as all intelligence agencies around the world. Gather information, monitor the political, social, and economic landscape, and carry out specific policy objectives domestically and internationally. All while making themselves as invisible as possible and creating the impression that it all happens by itself without their involvement and keeping their handiwork and involvement hidden from view.

The stranglehold that the pharmaceutical industry holds over the US government is hard to comprehend. I've watched through two administrations policy being steered toward big pharma vaccine-centric solutions while promising treatments from smaller firms have been stonewalled and rejected by the FDA and slammed by the CDC. Used only through compassionate use to treat the sickest and generally too late to do any good. Most of these treatments showing greater efficacy and safety results that far exceed the approved Merck and Pfizer pill at $700 per treatment. I've watched networks that receive the majority of their revenue from drug ads toe the company line. I've watch doctors and medical professionals that express views and opinions counter to the official stance beaten into silence. While their colleagues stay silent with many others complicit in the arrangement. I've watched drugs like Ivermectin and HCL, both of which are safe and highly prescribed in the US already, used in poor countries with limited resources suppress the curve and treat the sick effectively while both these and other cheap and available drugs suffer ridicule and rejection. The entire charade of this vaccine only approach has been laid bare by Omicron. Its time. Time to ignore the politics and reject the money and actually do what they've been claiming for 2 years. I remember last November when Trump supporters working polling locations in large urban cities in several swing States stopped vote counting activity at around 11 PM election night, shoed away opposition party observers, and resumed the count augmented by boxes of suddenly discovered mail-in ballots that pushed their candidate to victory in those States. Then locked away the boxes of ballots, refused to allow anyone to inspect them, and fought all court challenges while flooding the media with "there's nothing to see here messaging". And I should add, went home and waited to get arrested for the high crimes of trespassing and disorderly conduct. Both of which Democratic DA's in major cities do not even consider indictable offenses. But in the case of 1/6 demands for maximum sentences are loud and persistent from the soft on crime collective.

We should all agree that the standards for excellence and performance have dramatically fallen if Biden is some sort of benchmark. Initially most Americans agreed with you but Biden's approval ratings have been in a consistent downtrend since he took office. My issue with the slick drama show production of 1/6 is the fact that not a single person or participant has been indicted for insurrection, sedition, treason, or anything resembling those actions. How can you have an "insurrection" without "insurrectionists"? Even the FBI agrees with me.

Well no legitimate insurrection has ever succeeded without commitment to the cause and incurring some casualties. But seriously, a lot of posters here like me have explored the question what stopped them from carrying out their mission to the end? If their mission was insurrection and overthrow of the elected government. A logical answer has proved to be elusive. For starters. there just wasn't a security force on duty to stop the large number of protesters from occupying, attacking, damaging, or burning down the Capitol if that was their intent. Yet they did little if any harm to the building or its contents nor did they harm any members of the Congress. They had no command structure or arms or weapons or equipment to pull off such a task. Especially against the most powerful and well-armed government in the world. Its not like they're trying to take over the government of Haiti against an ill-equipped, unmotivated, and untrained Army of a couple hundred troops that don't get paid on time. If that was their plan it was a terrible plan. Who in their right mind would agree to participate in certain failure? And when asked to leave almost every person in the protest voluntarily complied with that request. Frankly it makes no sense. That's why I conclude the idea of an insurrection is more fiction than fact. its a great story but so are lots of other fairy tales.

Why did it fail? Because right now it looks like they all just decided on their own to leave and go home.

Its been all downhill for the party since then. Can they take a hint? Nobody cares about this anymore other than the hardcore kooks and neurotics that have to check under their beds before going to sleep every night to make sure Trump isn't hiding under there so he can steal their souls when they go to sleep.
