Both China and Russia are problems for the US establishment but its one thing at a time here. After sleeping on it overnight I've concluded the Biden administration achieved through this situation, while not the best-case full Russian attack scenario, exactly what they were looking for in Ukraine. Anyone suggesting they were "tying to stop a war" isn't paying attention to the big picture. The objective was to provoke a military response from Russia. Stopping a war, resulting in peace and some negotiated settlement would have allowed Russian plans for economic integration with Europe to continue uninterrupted. And whether it's 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, or even 10 years sooner or later American interests would find themselves excluded from the head table for setting European policy. It seems pretty clear certain countries, Germany and France in particular, want the US out of their backyard. But after yesterday taking that stance and advocating for integration and cooperation with Russia might be politically dangerous. At least for a while until this all blows over. And now Putin's plans are on pause and its not clear exactly where things go from here with sanctions and other possible consequences. That's priority one for the US establishment, keep control of European policy. Priority number 2, contain Russian interests. Good here on both counts. For most intents and purposes these provinces were already under Russian control and recognizing their independence (did they even declare their independence or did I miss that?) is just a formality. But all the support and weaponry supplied by the US served its purpose. It emboldened anti-Russian elements inside Ukraine to use those weapons to disrupt the balance of power that kept relative peace in the region. With these new resources it would have been a matter of time before the two provinces were brought under the control of Kiev. So Putin was forced into the choice of losing control of these regions or directly intervening. So he pulled the trigger on the independence recognition ploy which he'll argue provides pretext for sending forces into Eastern Ukraine. To keep people "safe". Expect lots of rhetoric out of Kiev but not much military action over time. I'm sure they're completely cognizant they traded these two republics for US support and assistance. How sanctions hurt US consumers is unclear but they will hurt Europeans more. US financial markets while down don't appear too concerned by looking at the futures action. Down but not down dramatically, gold up over night but giving up those gains and into the red by about 10 bucks. Oil is the market reacting badly with crude prices up around $3.40 as I write.

Because they'll all too stupid to figure out anything for themselves, just follow all the official narratives, and they support authoritarian policies because they're under the impression that the elite politicians and billionaires pushing these dictatorial and anti-democratic initiatives curtailing freedoms are going to reward them with some socialist utopia for their support. But like Hitler disposed of the Brown Shirts when it was required to gain commitment for his taking control of the government in the night of the long knives the elites are going to literally bulldoze the lefties into a big hole and cover it with dirt when the time comes. Like I said, they're stupid.

The fascist authoritarian fake liberals are incredibly stupid. And they love them some violence against defenseless ordinary citizens. But them girly men like Justin T. hide behind mama's skirt to avoid a fair fight.

No matter how absurd it might be, I'm still looking for any kind of explanation why the U.S. border with Mexico doesn't matter but the Ukraine border with Russia does matter?

All this evidence from a letter provided by an anonymous source sent to the Post signed by some guy named V Putin mailed from an address in Langley Virginia. I wish all the girls I knew in High School were as gullible as you are when it comes to believing anything and everything the government puts out. And newsflash: The focus has turned from the whole of Ukraine to the two breakaway provinces in the East. There are several scenarios that can emerge from this but a military occupation of Ukraine seems out of the realm of possibility.
-
That seems like the most likely scenario at the moment. We should know more in a couple hours time. The spin will be to provide assistance to the ethnic Russian population in their bid for autonomy from Ukraine. Then Putin will describe it as a battle between the Ukraine's central government and the newly recognized independent provinces. Not a war between Ukraine and Russia. Whether the US plays this as an "invasion" scenario or something else isn't clear.

Just Exactly How Stupid Have Americans Become ?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the government. There's nothing wrong with our legal system or the Constitution. Or the institutions of government, the three branches, or the departments which comprise the executive branch. The system works fine. The vast majority of Federal workers operate with the best of intentions. The problem is there are way too many incompetent and malicious characters in leadership positions both elected and appointed as provided by the political parties. Voters have become less knowledgeable even as more information, facts, and data become available. My assessment of the last 4 administrations, Bush, Obama, Trump, and now Biden are all complete duds and all belong in the bottom tier of Presidential administrations in US history. For starters Bush was a liar and an intellectual simpleton, Obama was a fake and a divider, Trump was a buffoon and lacked any real administrative skills, and Biden is simply mentally impaired and it should be obvious to anyone that has a pulse that somebody else is running the country. Even the administration of William Henry Harrison was better than any of them and he died after just 31 days in office. Truth is our leadership in the 21st century just sucks. Add in the media which by default lies about everything and its no wonder we live in a contentious and divided house. -
So you think applying critical thinking by questioning constantly wrong predictions that seem incredulous is equivalent to siding with the enemy? Now that's pathetic. I don't think any invasion is coming, and I never did believe it. Know your friends but know your enemies better. I just don't see any strategic advantages for the Russians that would require them to show their hand. At least just yet. I believe the true intelligence assessments provided by experts at the Pentagon and US intelligence agree with me. I also think much of the US bombast is designed to make Biden appear tough and effective for domestic political consumption. I think the administration and the media are generating a lot of drama. Contrast it to the talk out of other governments involved, including Ukraine itself. In summary, I'm forming my own conclusions. You might try it. You might find it enlightening and an eye-opening experience not to fall into line with the official narrative all the time. And late last night Biden and Putin agreed to a sit-down orchestrated by Macron. It appears another prediction of imminent attack is DOA.

If we've learned one thing from all of this is that liberal intellectual fake socialists hate and have complete disdain for real-life working people. Which if I'm following the ideology correctly are one of the primary beneficiaries of such a system. It could be they can't relate to the working class because most of them have never done a day's hard labor growing up in protected upper class and upper-middle class households. Regardless, they're a bunch of useless parasites that produce nothing but suck up a lot of resources relative to their value.

It's like US intelligence services are right there in the command bunker with Russian military commanders. What's beautiful about it all is none of these reports can be verified or falsified. So, if it's not today then its tomorrow. Or as the weather guy on the news said tonight. It might rain and snow on Tuesday, or start as rain and turn to snow, or start as snow to rain, or stay all rain, or stay or snow, or mixed precipitation or we might not have any precipitation, or the Russians might attack on Monday and if not maybe on Tuesday. Tune in Tuesday night for an update.

With all due respect, what about Canada? Should the US invade Canada to restore democracy? Should NATO act? Should the governments of other democracies express concerns and outrage at the invoking of emergency powers? I mean, Putin puts one "activist" in jail and the entire world expresses condemnation but not a peep here from any democracy. Should a Navy Seal Team be dispatched to Ottawa to abduct PM Trudeau and bring him to Washington to stand trial for crimes against his citizens? Because after Trudeau's emergency powers order I'm hard pressed to articulate what the difference is between living in Trudeau's Canada and Putin's Russia. From where I sit Trudeau's actions are perfectly consistent with the way Putin or Xi would have handled it. Some person or group resist your rule invoke powers and send in security forces to crush them and destroy their lives in the process along with anyone you identify that has provided any kind of support to their cause. So why ask fellow Canadians or Americans, to put their asses on the line to protect freedom and democracy in various foreign lands when our governments are committed to doing neither of that when it comes to domestic policies.

Blitz, you're dealing with a mindset that loves authoritarianism. They claim to be liberal thinkers but that's just self-delusion. And I've concluded it's almost useless to debate anyone with that mindset. Simply.... Leftists want tyranny just like the globalists do and that’s a really hard stance to justify. It’s much easier to attack character than to attack the message, so names like toxic, racists, sexists, insurrectionists and now foreign collaborators. Anything to avoid an honest debate on fair ground based on facts and morals. Ultimately, leftists love globalism. They are mouthpieces for the establishment because they see the establishment as an ally in their quest for socialism. They are too stupid to understand that the program is being run by the very same corporations and billionaires they claim they are fighting against. They also don’t understand that they will be among the first people sacrificed to see true globalism achieved. Like children, they think the future is going to be just like Star Trek. In truth it will be more like traveling backwards in time to the serfdom of the feudal dark ages.

Specifically, they imprison enemies of the party. The party is more important than the country, more important than the law. The party provides additional "rights" to its members and punishes and subrogates non-members. Citizens exist to serve the interest of the party and the government. In a democracy the government exists to serve the needs of its citizens. Critics of the government's policies here are not threats to the nation or the government. They are not terrorists. Terrorists seek to destroy or replace the system. In the trucker situation they are not seeking to revolt against and replace the Parliamentary system of government. Or alter the legal system. They are not a threat to the system. They're not looking to tear down institutions and systems to replace them with some other institutions and system to their liking. They are not motivated by or advocates of political change or social activism. What they object to are the people running the system and their policies. The protesters are a threat to the elite ruling political class. It's just that simple. That's how it is with all populist movements and protests. They're not a threat to Canada. They want social and economic restrictions that are not scientifically or socially effective or necessary removed. They want the government claiming to follow the science to follow the science and not the politically driven pseudo-science policies of the ruling class. But opposition to the political elite class is a danger. So unable to speak the truth deception needs to be employed to cite a threat to the nation to rally the population in support of the elite. It's quite a game and as long as the majority of citizens shy away from critical thinking and comply with blind obedience.

That's a great law. The false comparison strategy and false choice strategy are common methods utilized to escape from an indefensible position when facts and figures contradict someone's argument and therefore requires a shift of focus to another topic. For bonus points can anyone name the 2 or 3 posters most likely to bring up Trump to escape a discussion of facts and critical questions on any topic? Topics ranging from CRT to potential 2022 season NFL MVP?

So sounds like all Trudeau had to do to shut down the protests was just send some leftist anarchists into the crowd. Why didn't he think of that? Or maybe... he did? And while I'll admit to that being a conspiracy theory I take exception. Who knows, maybe he talked with the FBI this week? And why should my conspiracy theories be judged any differently than those created by government? As they never offer up any proof, facts, or evidence. What makes anyone believe them? Credibility? That's comical.

How about this? How about your buddies Biden and Blinken worry about the US border with Mexico before they go off to Europe and start pontificating about the sanctity of borders between two countries across the ocean and thousands of miles away? A situation where how many Americans are directly impacted? Almost zero. Or how about this? How about they apply their Mexico border policy to Ukraine and Russia so there would be no concerns about incursions or talk and threats of war at all. Because national borders don't matter to their political party. And the Ukrainians and Russians would be free to move back and forth between the two countries without any regard for things like border security or any citizenship rules, visas, or passports. So why would any reasonable person support a war effort to protect the borders of a country in Europe none of them could find on a map absent country names appearing in big block letters when our leaders can't seem to grasp the concept of protecting the borders of our own country with anything like the same level of enthusiasm? Maybe redirect those troops deployed to Europe to our Southern border rather then leave it unattended and under the control of drug cartels. Either way, they're waking me up 3 or 4 times every night with early morning flights either ascending after takeoff or descending for landing that I conclude are either flights from Texas secretly bringing illegals up into the North East or flights out of McGuire AFB transporting US troops and equipment to Europe. Please stop both and let me get a good nights rest.

You should be addressing that question to our secretary of State. Blinken was at the UN Security Council leveling charges that a false flag attack is about to be launched. All as is customary without providing one piece of evidence. We're in WMD territory now. What's next? Stories of babies being torn from hospital incubators? Its an embarrassment. And it merely reinforces the growing realization of Biden's incapacity to lead the west, much less America. Watch as allies distance themselves from this train wreck. Even the Ukrainians will be looking for a mutually beneficial negotiated exit from this mess.
