What else would they say? We only allowed about 20% of the story to be revealed and left out the 80% that didn't support our case? That's what prosecutors do and that's why they attempt to suppress and challenge defense motions and arguments to submit and include evidence. Add to that a district court judge (who's term expires in about 2 months) hearing the cases that shared their political views and denied almost every defense motion in every case and there you have it.

Confirmation from some war advocates by saying the quiet part out loud that the rallying cry of supporting democracy and territorial sovereignty from the guys that have violated the territorial sovereignty of more nations than anyone else. But always for a good cause. That disguise is off the real motive. Which is to supply money and weapons in order to weaken Russia's war capabilities at the expense of Ukrainian lives. Who could have guessed? So how much of that $100 Billion went into the bank accounts of leadership in for the price of selling out their own people to do Washington's dirty work? Hell or high water the US government is going to fight tooth and nail in order to stop us from finding out.

Smith is indeed a party hack. His special counsel assignment will surely be biased by his politics which will supersede the law. Just one look at his record and associations tells the truth. Assuming you care about the truth. His loyalty is first to the party and the law is a mere inconvenience. What I don't get is that if Trump sucks so much and is so corrupt you'd think by now these stooges and party hit-men would have nailed him but this circus has been going on 6+ years. All I see is tweet after tweet from these clowns you follow but none of it seems to stick to the wall. I think they just make up whatever they think sounds good. Mis-information spreader at their finest. Paid and commissioned hacks. But you'll never admit it or agree to my assessment so why should I bother telling you?

Sure Biden is suffering from degenerative mental issues but so it appears is everyone else that he surrounds himself with in this administration. Who among his crew of misfits and oddballs would you trust with your life or would you like to see put in charge in his place? Its a group of under-achievers and diversity hires who's only qualification for the job is their social justice score. In a few words, unqualified incompetents without any self-awareness. So even if they replace Biden the successor will be somebody else that doesn't know what they're doing. We're screwed.

!00%. This is a protection operation being run to shield powerful and wealthy "men" from public scrutiny and the consequences of their complicity with Epstein. Nobody of sound mind or conscious should support keeping their identities secret. An establishment class that protects the powerful at the expense of the powerless has no moral authority to rule. But where o where are the voices and leaders of social justice causes, and all types and forms of groups advocating for women, and the moral right wingers here demanding justice for young abused women? Did they all get paid off too?

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

That trait is the hallmark of these leftist buffoons. They always think they're the smartest person in the room. And while the people insist they are citizens with rights and legal protections of a nation the officials working in the government see them as subjects to be ruled by their genius. -
The book contains a chapter on preparations from an individual and society level perspective. Much of the person level is focused on developing local support systems of people you can depend on and preparing for a period where the national government and other institutions people depend on won't be there to help, and you'll be pretty much on your own. Finding people that you can depend on and trust. The advantages of being a generalist rather than a specialist from a skills perspective. In the extreme, migrate to another country where the crisis phase of the cycle has either passed or has yet to appear (these were mentioned in the book somewhere). My take on the advice part is its pretty general stuff I've seen elsewhere and for detailed level advice some kind of basic preppers guide would be more helpful. I assume being in a high population density urban area would be the worst kind of place to be. Lots of people not a lot of resources like food sourced locally. People with specific skillsets that are mostly irrelevant during a crisis.

Thanks. I'm aware of both. One writing I continue to draw insights from is a book written by Strauss and Howe, The Fourth Turning published in 1997. Not sure if you're aware or familiar with it. A chronicling of history from an American perspective and the cycles and phases that drive human experience. The short version is there are historical cycles of about 80 years consisting of 4 phases. With the 4th phase being a crisis period the ends the cycle and begins another. Right now we're in the crisis phase which will climax and end about 2026. How it ends and what follows is uncertain. Good, bad, progress, or regression? From my perspective since reading it back in 1997 it's been accurate predicting the major themes of the past 20+ years as they've unfolded. The gist is we're in for a rough ride and a historical event something like the Great Depression will test everyone's resolve and abilities. I should add one key insights about history. And that is the key thing isn't lessons of history some might cite as lost or missed by others. What's key is over time, in this case with the passing of previous generations, iIs the experience of those historical events. You can read all you want about things like the American Revolution and interpretations of those events but it's nothing like having lived it.

Out of curiosity, I'd ask what media figures do you trust to tell the truth all the time?

Combating imaginary racism with actual racism??
All_Pro_Bills replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
What it comes down to is that most liberal intellectuals are consciously aware that they're smarter than everyone else and anyone that disagrees with them is a mentally challenged idiot. This demonstrated by all kinds of credentials and degrees and fine tastes. That's why debating them is senseless. They've already defined the optimal solution and position on every topic and issue. Debating anything with you, a morally, intellectually, and ethically inferior and severely flawed person is senseless. Because anything you suggest that might modify their perfectly crafted views and positions will make things less perfect. The only thing that exceeds their narcissism is their arrogance. That's why great liberal thinkers like Mayor Pete can't comprehend what the fuss is all about. -

So you're saying unless you're brought up on official charges accusing you of lying you shouldn't be considered to be a liar? -
They opened the event with a 15 second detailed presentation and discussion of successful socialist regimes through history.

Yes he did. To paraphrase what he told Putin "After the election it will be easier to deal". But as a member of the protected political class, Obama is untouchable. And of course people employed and compensated to provide muscle to the protected political class will deny this and attack anyone that suggests this truth. These people are typically members of an Army of lower level political operatives and media flunkies that are experts at manipulating words and language while making decent 6 figure wages doing hatchet jobs on ordinary citizens or skeptics. There attacks just reinforce and proves the point.

Lori Lightfoot loses in political embarrassment

Not to be rude but can go out to Halloween parties as Bettlejuice without the need for make up or costume. -
You're a good company man always consistently obedient to the system and the tales they tell. What exactly did I re-write? As for being called out, by who? You? To be straight about it I don't see much value in committing any more of my time to getting into a long back and forth with you because while I'm willing to adjust or change my views in debating and discussing topics you are definitely not. So what's the point?

Warning: Attempting to objectively understand the history and things like the ethnic and cultural composition of Crimea will get you labeled as a Putin sympathizer. You're supposed to believe everything you're told, not do too much thinking, and certainly not question any of it. Interestingly Crimea was a territory of Greece known as Tauris before becoming part of the Roman Empire about 60 BC. Dominion over the province was transferred from empire to empire until it fell under Russia about 180 years ago. Then in 1954 former Soviet Premier Kryschev transferred sovereignty to the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic. After the fall of the Soviet Union the province gained some degree of independence but then came under the control of the Ukrainian central government while still having some degree of autonomy. Then came the Maiden riots, the Russian invasion and here we are. A recent referendum of citizens voted overwhelming to become part of Russia again although we know with 100% confidence the election was rigged. We know this because the same people that told us all the elections they win in our country are fair told us so. Another tip: Don't question election results when the "good" guys win and the "bad" guys lose (but when the results go the other way please do question the results). Just remember the main theme here. Believe everything you're told and don't question anything. The establishment thanks you for your obedience.

I'd be more than happy to discuss COVID relief spending as a separate topic and I think I'd agree with much of your view on the programs but the topic is student loan forgiveness so we should try to stay inside the guardrails.

You must be that rare altruist and humanitarian.

By providing the views of your "conservative" friends, you're confirming what I contend is the dominant human behavioral characteristic. And that is people will almost always take an action or express a belief that aligns with their own self-interest. Rare is the truly altruistic individual. In this case, people with outstanding loan balances supporting loan forgiveness and people without loan balances or people that paid off their loans opposing loan forgiveness. But the issue isn't what's in each person's self-interest. The issue is that, unless they were defrauded or deceived or their legal rights under contract law were violated, all these folks taking out student loans voluntarily entered into a contact with another party. They should have been fully aware of the terms and conditions of the loan. And if they weren't that's their own fault. If they can't or won't pay it back that's a private matter between them and their creditor. There's no legal or moral reason why the public at large via funding the government should assume responsibility for the debts of a certain group of debtors that each entered a contract of their own free will.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
All_Pro_Bills replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
For me, none of these agency conclusions are very insightful absent details about what evidence, data, and information they gathered and assessed to arrive at a conclusion. Even with "confidence" level can we verify they all followed the same methodology or criteria in making that determination? Is it apples apples from one conclusion to another or apples to oranges?
