  1. Hey, but if he can't play QB in the NFL....I bet he'll be a helluva special teams presence and a great locker room guy!
  2. Translation to Gailey's comments. Maybin is not good enought to play in this league. He is so bad, that he is not good enough to be a special teams player in this league right now. If he was not a first round pick he surely would have been cut by now. Hopefully, due to is age he will wise up, work much harder and get stronger so he may be able to contribute something by 2011. If not, his career will probably be over.
  3. Torbor is probably angeling for his own 24 million dollar extension for being a good locker room guy! Seriously though, I liked what Torbor had to say. We need more guys like that on our team.
  4. Yea, why pick up after yourselves when somebody else is paid too? So far the original poster has been attacked as a redneck and a racist (for some stupid reason). I can't believe all the people here making excuses for why they can't have enough pride in their city and themsleves to actually put trash in a trash can? (Inside or outside the stadium) If you are leaving your trash anywhere, your not helping the needy, your not providing job security and you are not serving some higher order of social equality. Your just a filthy f*cking entitled slob who does not care about anyone or anything around you. It speaks greatly to your lack of character and the lack of pride you have regarding yourself, your neighbors and your community. I live almost 3,000 miles away form Buffalo and cannot comment on the actual trash at the stadium, but the responses here to what seems to be a legitimate grip are astounding. I applaude the original poster for saying sometihing.
  5. While I do not agree with the Kelsay years and money, I understand the thought process. Buffalo has a hard time retaining talent and signing quality free agents. part of that has been the front office dysfunction for the last 15 years or so. Players look at that and say to themselves, "I don't have a chance to win there, and the team is not run well" so all things being equal, they will go play somewhere else. I think by rewarding a guy that has been here for 7 years, has been a leader and has played hard sends a message to the young guys on the team as well as pending free agents around the league. The message is that things are different here now. We want to win and our organization values and protects the guys that work hard and want to win too. Now, You can debate the value of the player (Kelsay) used to send this message, but I think that is the heart of the contract.
  6. I'm sure if it were true there would be more evidence out there. Sounds to me like a desperate guy who wanted to meet this girl and acted Like Favre so she would be impressed. Very disturbing.
  7. It makes sense because I am sure Gailey and the coaching staff are working to change and alter the calls and terminology for this game. But to overhaul everything would not make sense (they have been working on this since OTA's), so they will tweak it. Hence, Trent will be able to pick up on some things and general protection philosophy, but the terminology will be altered as to not allow them to pick up on everything. So what he is saying makes complete sense to me. We did this in High School when we played our rival. Our head coach's old assistant was the new head coach at our rival school. The week of the game we changed our calls and terminology. Sure enough first play of the game, where we altered the terminology, the defense shifted completely to one side of the field in anticipation of the "picked up' call. The play was completely different and went for 6. We won 38-22. So I know if it happens at a high school level, it happens at the professional level as well.... to some extent.
  8. Also, Lynch's last offense was carrying a loaded weapon in his car. Last time I checked owning a gun in this country was still legal. it's not like he raped someone, shot someone, or brutally tortured and systematically killed some poor innocent animals. The point of this is that his chances of "relapsing" are much less than an actual felon is...based upon his behavior. And he skipped all the workouts and got back just in time to beat out this years first round pick and last years starter.....That is how bad a player he is.
  9. I am not upset that we traded one of our RB's. But I am soo pissed we got so little back for it. Lynch is a 2 time pro-bowl first round pick. He is 24 years old and under team control for three more seasons. His contract is cheap and he is a beast on the field. Yes he is one suspension away blah, blah, blah...So is Rothlisberger, so is Vick..If we could get that kind of talent for a 4th rounder I don't think anyone would think twice about pulling off that deal (Although I would hate to see either of these two in a Bills uniform.) But I think you guys get my point.
  10. Not only that but Moss is in his 30's. Lynch is 24 with two years remaining on his contract after this year. The voidible 2012 year is voidible by the team. He is cheap and basically the team that controls him(used to be us) has him by the short ones until after 2012. Horrible trade on our part. If we could not do better than what we got, we should have held him and waited till next year to trade him. Time was on our side in this case. You don't point to one bad deal to justify another bad deal. Draft picks are waaaaaaaaaaaaay over valued right now. Smart GM's know this and will trade away "their sacred 4th through 7th round picks" for proven NFL talent that is young. Bad GM's collect lousy late round picks that historically do not consistantly produce quality players and give away their stars....Which one are we again??
  11. I suppose they could put us behind Alabama.
  12. "I'm just saying...the ball looked really high and.... Who gives a sh*t it's gone!"
  13. Whitner for Hawk and a 4th. It might make sense for GB as a salary dump and to make the team better. Don't forget Hawks contract is very, very high. that is why they probably can't trade him. Why? That would just mean we would cut or trade 30 more players by the end of 2011.
  14. That's true, but you also don't sell a 100K 2007 Ferrari with low miles for 5K and the chance to pick up a 2011 Hyundai either.
  15. LYNCH WAS SIGNED THROUGH THE 2012 SEASON...AND FOR NOT A LOT OF MONEY.........AND HE IS A 24 YEAR OLD 2 TIME PRO BOWL PLAYER WHO WE JUST TRADED FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO PICK UP THE NEXT KO SIMPSON OR JUSTIN ARMOUR!!!!!!!!!!! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT PLEASE.
  16. +1000 Whitner's biggest sin was that he was drafted 8th overall. Let me ask all of you who can't stand Whitner. If he was a 2nd round pick, would you still want him released? Probably not. Whitner will never be a hall of famer. But he is an above average safety who can tackle and make all the ordinary plays. He is not Ed Reed, but he is not part of the problem either. The problem with Evans is that he is very inconsistant, gets taken out of game plans by avergae corners and defenses and really is a #2 reciever. Actually, he is an AVERAGE #2 reciever given his production. It is not his fault the Bills are paying him 9 million, but if they can get something decent for him, I would do it. Either do that, or get a real long term answer in here at the #1 WR position and allow Evans to settle into being a 2 or 3 becasue that it what he is. Teams get in trouble when they sign or draft guys and expect them to be something different or better than they actually are.
  17. I agree, I don't understand all the hate directed towards Donte after yesterday. It's pretty tough to tackle guys in the open field when the entire defensive line and linebackers fail to even get a fingernail on him. I don't blame Donte for the LT play at all. The worse part of the team yesterday was the defensive line. They were literally blown off the ball every single play. For all of you out there who hate Stroud, take a look at yesterdays performance with him out of there. Can't blame Poz either. The D Line did nothing to slow the Jets down past the line of scrimmage. Guys like Poz and Whitner had to sit there and try to tackle freight trains with 7 yards momentum on their side, who had the added bonus of running through 5 yard holes. Not an easy task for any NFL player. There are a lot of problems with this team, but guys like Poz, Stroud and Whitner are not it. This team needs some big uglies up front on both sides of the ball. As far as Evans is concerned. He should be traded if that is possible. He has been Mr. invisible for going on three years now. #1 wideouts find ways to make plays. I am sick of the excuses for him too, but just releasing him is a really really bad idea.
  18. I agree, guys don't want to play in Buffalo, because Buffalo does not win...It has nothing to do with the city. When we signed Bledose look who followed. Vincent, Malloy, Spikes, Aadams, ect. Why, because they though they would have an opportunity to win a few rings. The answer to everything is WIN. Like I have said before, it solves a lot of problems.
  19. The motives are that if we pass or if we run, we can't sustain drives. When you can't sustain drives you have much fewer offensive plays. When you have fewer offensive plays, guys don't get their touches. The answer for everyone is...get more first downs. Winning solves a lot of problems too.
  20. I agree there a re a lot of things to be happy about from the teams structual perspective. Now it is about execution. Like Donte said, it is about beating the man in front of you. Right now, we just don't have the horses to do that consistantly. But that will change over time.
  21. I have seen much fewer penalties this year than I did under Jauron. I have seen the coaching staff send a message to the guys in the locker room. Perform or get cut, even if you are a captain, your job is not safe here. I have seen good adjustments by the coaching staff, but lousy execution. I have seen defenses have to adjust to what we are doing offensively...hence our offense keeping teams a bit more honest, especially with crowding the box. These are small things, but they are important. I think right now the coaching is pretty good. The execution and talent is terrible. As far as the draft is concerned, it is waaaaay to early to tell how that will play out. What I do know is we have had Moats, Coleman, Nelson all contributing last week. Wang has been injured, Batten has been injured. Troup and Carrington both play postions where we have established players at (Williams and Stroud) So it is hard for them to get on the field and contribute at this point. And Spiller will be a stud moving forward. SO I think the draft will be a productive one long term. Do we have any hall of famers? Probably not, but I think we will get 5 or 6 very good players out of it. That is good talent evaluation. I will say I am very concerned about the Kelsay signing. That troubles me. But once again, I am not a football expert.
  22. I agree with your post as well. I think the reason they actually hired a real GM was so they could have a football guy in charge of the draft and talent comming in. I do not think anyone can honestly say Modrak had a lot of input on this years draft. From all accounts that was Nix and Gailey all the way. I agree if Modrak and some of the other "business guys" were still running the football side, I would probably have given up. But I don't see Modrak steam-rolling his viewpoints on Nix or Gailey. I think given time to work their plan, Nix & Gailey will field a talented team. I like Dwan Edwards and I like Andre Davis. I think those were good signings. Regarding Cornell Green, you are not going to hit on every siging. I also like the fact you are seeing guys like Coleman and Moats playing. I like the fact that some of the undrafted guys like Nelson are playing. I like the Edwards release. And for everyone saying play the kids....I agree. My predicition is Chan will play the kids once they lose 7 or 8 games. He cannot do it before that, becasue he will lose the vets in the locker room who will see it as the coach giving up on the season. Which is the right way to handle the situation. You have to give the Vets the opportunity to compete, you owe it to them, no matter how far fetched a playoff apearance seems at this point. That is leadership, and what is best for the team long term.
