is this good news or bad news for the future of the Bills?
tonyd19 replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've seen articles like this before in some degree or another. Everyone in the country should be required to read this, because it is very, very true. Despite your political affiliation, you cannot dispute the facts. Great find! -

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!! How do you think the government gets their tax when the money is locked up in an illiquid asset like a business??? The business is sold, people lose their jobs, families are effected, and it happens everyday. It effects everyone. Your views are very miopic. -

That brings us back to the fact that you can't leverage 100% of the asset. So you take a loan out for say 80% of the value. You spend half of the money before you die. Now you estate is left with half the money you did not spend (which will be taxed) and the assets you hold with 20% equity. The assets are sold, and your estate is taxed on the 20% you still owe. You would be giving your assets to your creditors and still paying estate taxes on the portions you have retained. This would not make sense becuase if you wanted to not pay death taxes and did not care about leaving the assets to your family. you could just spend the assets prior to death or use some other estate planning techniques For example, you could put your assets in a Charitable Remainder Trust. You get paments every month on the value of the assets in the trust and when you die, the remaining assets go to a charity of your choice. -

Yea..... nobody should be pissed about a law that robs people of half of the money they have spent a lifetime earning and have already paid taxes on.....I guess that's because the people affected are "rich" and deserve to be swindled by the government. I bet if they dropped the death tax down to people with estates of $10,000 or more.....than it would be wrong... -

Not a bad idea in theory, but a few things wrong with it. 1) You can't leverage 100% of the value of your assets. 2) You still own the asset and on your death the money you took out (at least the unspent part) wll still be part of your estate. So now you will owe death taxes on the money you took out, plus you will owe the creditors for the assets you took loans against. Your family will end up with even less than if the government got their hands on it. -
How about Haiden Fox? He won a National Championship at Minnesota State and took that expansion team in Orlando to the playoffs in their 2nd year!

I am the owner of an investment firm in Nevada. I am not shocked by this law extending, as there has been some form of the death tax in plac since 1871. It's a big money maker for the government, as well as the insurance and legal industries. But I will say, with proper estate planning techniques, most if not all of the loss to the government from a persons estate can be mitigated. We have a saying in the financial planning industry. When you die, your money can go to three places. 1) The Government. 2) Charity. 3) Your Family. We would like you to pick two. You can take a guess as to which two are primarily chosen! Bottom line is.... if Ralph's advisors and attorneys have done their job, this should not affect the Bills very much. -
Ooops I forgot this isn't the Huffington Post.....GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!

+1 Liberals espouge moral relativism and the "who are we to judge anyone" mentality because it makes them feel good, not because it makes sense or is good for society. I know alot of liberals.... many of them are the most self centered, uncarring people I have ever met. They hide behind a cloth of helping the needy, but in the end of they day it's all about getting their world view recognized and killing dissent. Also, nobody is comparing Hardgrove to Dahmer, just making a point about crime and punisment. BTW I am an indpendent, both of the parties are f*cked.

Glazer on teams moving to LA
tonyd19 replied to 83 Lee for HOF 83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After the bad press the NFL got for approving the moving of the Browns, there is no way they are going to allow another small market team that has such a dedicated fan base like the Bills.....barring a major catastrophe. As everyone here should know, today's NFL hates negative press and bad PR. -

Disrespecting Jimbo and Thurman in Buffalo is like disrespecting Rocky Balboa in Philly....You just don't do it. -

Damn Premadonna kickers!!!!!!!!!! -
He's talking about playing against his current teammates, once they are out of Buffalo. Trent is obviously on his ay out barring a miracle. Just saying, he could be talking about Trent.

Oops just read the article...nevermind.

Well how about bringing Bill Polian back then. He's obviously available. Maybe Ralph can swallow some pride here.

He's talking about Edwards.

What about football or the Bills are you thankful for?
tonyd19 replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm thankful my father made me a Bills fan when I was a kid, even though I grew up in California. Being a Bills fan has helped me become closer to my family in Lackawanna, which is always dificult when you are 3,000 miles away. If there are any members of the DePasquale family out there today, Happy Thanksgiving. -

You can't be pissed at a guy for stating the obvious. This may be a newsflash for you, but Kelly did not say anything the rest of the planet, including other NFL teams don't already know. I am not sure how that is throwing him under the bus. -
Especially disturbing stat of the day...
tonyd19 replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See, I think this is a good stat. With all the injuries and the proported lack of talent and direction. We have actually been in most of these games. We just need a few pieces to bring it al together. I do not think we are as far away as a lot of people think. -

Dude, you have to come to the realization that Trent Edwards time as the starting quarterback of the Buffalo Bills is over, finished, ended, done. Barring a complete miracle, he won't see the field again and will be traded, released, non tendered, injured reserved, or whatever they do with guys they don't want around anymore. He may be good one day, but it will be in another uniform.
