Tim Graham "Could Nix sway Schottenheimer to Bills?"
tonyd19 replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cowher or Schottenheimer would be the best available for this team. Either one would be terrific. -

No I agree. Most likely Ralph works with a family office and has good financial planners, cpas, and estate planners taking care of this. But there are cases out there where this does not happen. There is a saying in the financial planning industry. "Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in 3 generations." Meaning the father earns it, the kids inherit it, the grandkids spend it, and by the forth generation, there is nothing left. Happens all the time. I could go on for hours on this topic, but I won't bore everyone. I will say that Ralph is a self made man and a good business man. As a financial planner to affluent families, foundations, and comapnies confidentiality is a very good trait to have. I believe he has handled these issues privately and a succession plan has been in place for some time. -

I run a wealth management firm in Las Vegas. Assets can pass between husband and spouse estate tax free, but when the second spouse dies, all assets above the lifetime exclusion is taxable under the death tax. The best way around this for Ralph would most likely be to implement a second to die life insurance policy to offset the tax or a key man policy for successors to help mitigate the expense. He could also pass the team through a charitable trust to a family foundation. These strategies would have to be placed through an ILIT (Irrivocable Life Insurance Trust or possibly a CRT Charitable Remainder trust, or some other form depending on how the business assets are structured) in ordr to avoid the death tax themselves. Hope this helps. -
Number 2...The kind with guards outside.

Easy there punctuation Joe, just had to write quickly due to work constraints. I'm sure you can deduce what I meant with your razor sharp acumen for the english language.

Why would anyone want a career college coach leading the Bills? These guys make their livings ordering naive teenagers (usually from poor and working class families) around and manipulating them into either staying at the school whenthey could make great money in the pros or away from class when they are not good enough to go pro in order to further the program. In the college game, the coach is the center of their little college town universe and don't have to answer to anyone. They can treat players like garbage and act like idiots and nobody will say anything as long as they win and bring in booster money. When they get to the NFL, they realize it is a lot harder to order around and manipulate a grown man who is a millionaire. The coach is no longer the center of the universe anyomore because the players outshine the coaches on the pro level. This is why most conceeded college coaches will never be and have usually never been successful in the NFL. Seriously, could you just see an idiot like Mike Leech telling Alex Van Pelt to lock T.O in closet at One Bills Drive because he had a headache and did not want to practice......How funny would that be!

He didn't beat Flacco out, some of the veterans who think they are the coaches "advised" the head coach that they wanted Smith to be the starter. The coaching staff went with Flacco and they drafted Flacco in the 1st round because they knew Smith was crappy. Honestly I'd rather stick with Edwards or resign Losman than go with any of those guys on that list...and I really do not want to stay with Edwards or resign Losman. I'd much rather see how Brohm develops if those are our only choices.
-
Why the hell would we take anyone on that list as our "qb of the future" All those guys are washouts, will be cut, or passed their prime. I wouldn't sign any of them as FA, let alone give anything up for any of them. Vick - past his prime, character issues, wasn't very good in his prime. Bulger - passed his prime, wasn't that good in his prime. Smith - Got beat out by a rookie, who they drafted to replace him because he isn't that good. Requesting a trade is a joke when your a # 2 or # 3 QB and have never accomplished anything. Get over yourself. Cambell - Can't get it done with a ton of money around him, has had 4 years to step up and earn the right to be a franchise QB with a bunch of opportunities in DC.....Don't want any part of him.

Brohm performed about as well as could be expected given the circumstances. I thought he lookled pretty composed, looked like a leader. He had good zip on his balls and was reasonably accuruate. I am excited to see how he develops.

Shanahan removes name from Bills consideration

EAT SH*T AND DIE SHANNAHAN!!!!! WE DON'T NEED YOU ANYWAY. -
I am as skepticle as anyone, but just with the law of averages regarding good quarterbacks vs bad.....were bound to run into a gift eventually.....maybe this is our christmas gift from the football gods, who knows.

I know I may be an eternal optimist, but does anyone else seem it odd that fate has seem to smile on Brian Brohm, who was not suppossed to see a down this year, and give him the opporutnity to start this sunday for our Bills? Will this Sunday be the moment that we as a fan base will be able to look back on some years from now and say "That was it, that was the turning point that started the Bills dynasty?" Can fate finally be turning a warm shoulder towards our beloved Bills? Could this end up being a true Christmas miracle, or just another in along line of disapointments?
-
Brohms Stats Sunday Completions 0 Attempts 0 TD's 0 Int. 0 Passer Rating 0.0 Clipboards held 1 You can tke these stas to the bank. No way fitz is't better enough for Fewell to start him Sunday. Too bad, I though I may have a reason to actually watcch the game this sunday.

$10 Million dollars on the table and no one wants it?
tonyd19 replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No good coach comes here...... Ralph will live five hundred years...... No Super Bowl rings......... -
Obviously Bill Polian thought enough of Dungy to hire him and if he did not retire, he would still hold that job. That is all I need to know about his coaching ability. he is my top choice for Buffalo's HC, you can keep Vick though.
-
Ahhhhhh...The old tell the whole world someone isn't very good so you can keep him all for yourself trick!!!!! Were on to yuor reverse psychology Bill!

+1

+1 We don't need any unproven egomaniacs. You only deal with the the proven egomaniacs and you just tolerate them. Any man that is turns down a HC job to remain a cooridnator is a p*ssy (unless it's the Raiders). Garrett can go f*ck himself.

Time to see Brohm. -
Allow me to end the suspense. The Buffalo Bills have been elliminated from playoff contention in 2009.

is this good news or bad news for the future of the Bills?
tonyd19 replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not understanding your math. How do you take a family legacy worth 1 billion, take 45% of it away to tax all of the assets that have already been taxed, and come up with more money for the family than the original amount? BTW Ralph has not made money off this team....He built the friggin team. He took all the risks when it started, he has employed thousands of Western New Yorkers, has paid millions and millions in taxes to the community, and has given Buffalo a sports identity despite the business climate collapsing around him. He deserves to have his business allocated to who he wants when he dies. Not have half of it stolen from him because the government is greedy.
