Dear Mr. Wilson, I Am Done With The Bills.
tonyd19 replied to tonyd19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who the f*ck said I knew who would work out as head coach? I am talking about actually showing some respect to the fans for the first time in years and us as fans standing up and demanding accountability. I'm arguing for you too you stupid ass. By the way, what difference does it make how much money I have? -

Oh god, same old tired rebuttal. This is about the entire organization and what it has become. Loyalty is definitely an asset, but you can't be a blind follower either. -

Well if I was 9 in 1988....I think that makes me a bit older. Like I said, I knew this would not be a popular topic, but it should be addressed. -

Thats right guys beat me up, but somebody has to say it. If they don't turn it around they will be leaving anyway. -
Dear Buffalo Bills and Bills Fans Worldwide: (forgive me if this is a bit long) I've been watching the Bills since I was 9 years old back in 1988. I have followed them through thick and thin. I can honestly say that if the Bills hire Leslie Frazier or another up and comming coordinator to be the head coach instead of doing whatever it takes to get a proven leader in here, than I am done with this organization. You will have to prove to me that this team is worth MY TIME instead of the other way around. I do not take this decision lightly, nor do I go off spouting idle threats or feeling sorry for myself or other fans. This decision is based in common sense and logic. It has been a long time dream of mine to watch the Bills win a Superbowl standing next to my father as we celebrate together. But the older he gets, and this franchise becomes more of a joke, the time invested seems like a complete waste. The older I get, and more responsibilities I take on, I find myself having less and less time to commit to passions of my youth. All of my time has become a premium that must be divided among my family, firends, work, clients, and just living life. The older I get and more responsibilities I have as a husband, a son, a future father, and a business owner leaves me less and less time everyday for personal activiites like watching the Bills. The fact that my free time is decreasing everyday, every minute becomes more and more important and I have less and less of it to waste on an organization that is not commited to their fans. The fact that this organization has lost for years is not what really depresses me, the idea that this team has become a joke, and the management will cease to do anything to correct it is what really concerns me. It should be TRAVESTY to this organization that qualified coaches are not jumping at that chance to captain this ship. The idea that the front office has bought into the idea that being the head coach of the Buffalo Bills is a second rate job is not only stunning and dissapointing, but also unbelievably disrespectful to the fans and the enitre region of Western New York. This organization has shown zero commitment to make this franchise better for the people who have dedicated enormous amounts of their time, energy and money to it. This organization hired an inside candidate to take the GM position without even looking outside the organization, when the enitre NFL universe knows that the entire organization is completely dysfunctional, full of "yes men" and incompentant. This organization has ruined and injured countless promising players and ended careers prematurly due to the desire to not pay for competent help when players have been injured, thus leaving the players they actually do care about exposed to depending on teammates who are not skilled enough to proetect them. This organization has let pride and ego get in the way of winning, running some of the best football minds in the business out the door over petty arguements and personal vendettas. This organization has managed to turn what used to be one of the best blue collar franchises in American Sports history into a depressed joke of franchise that has become a punch line waiting to be put out of it's misery. Medicority is not tollerated in my business, or in my life, and will not be tolerated by the franchises I chose to spend my very valuable time and money on. This is it Bills, start making some serious moves to make this organization better or start losing fans. I encourage all Bills fans to hear this letter and demand today that the Bills truly commit to becoming a winning organization that we can be proud of. It is D-DAY in Bills Nation and the organization needs to hear our plea. Get to fixing these problems or dare I say it......... get the hell out of Wetsern New York and let us get on with our lives

Leslie Frazer "blew away" Nix in interview.
tonyd19 replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, just maybe, one of the reasons Nix liked Frazier so much was they have a similar interest in how to build and run a football team. Perhaps Frazier has his own ideas on how to run a defense/team. Did your simian-like brain ever consider that? I'm a mother f*cking lyrical wordsmith voice of a generation...and a genius....and I am not a gay fish! Kayne West -

Good god....OK My whole point is that we do not know what this guy is going to run....But it will be more difficult for an unknown rookie head coach to implement his design when he has less power in the front office than an experienced coach who is a proven winner. It will be harder for frazier to recruit free agents, it will be harder to frazier to command respect amoung the players, and it will be harder for frazier to convince the front office to give him the personel he will need to implement his plan.....whatever it may be than that of an experienced winning head coach. With all the issues that already surround the team, why put is in another disadvantagous situation??? -

Proven failure with a super bowl ring? You can say what you want about Billik, but as they say....look at the scoreboard and then complain. -

I was refering to the typicall defensive philisophy of the tampa 2 scheme. Which typically relies on smallish quick athletic defensive polayers. It is not a universal though. We really do not know if Frazier likes bigger defensive players or not, becasue he does not make the personal decisions in Minnesota. -

Ok I'll explain this as simply as possible. I said the Tampa 2 scheme typically relies on smallish players. I also said, we don't know what Frazier would do in personel decisions because he has no track record for actually aquiring players. Regarding large and small players, it is not great mystery that good football players are coveted despite their size. I would love to see my post where I said "BIG PLAYERS GOOOOOD.......SMALL PLAYERS BAAAAD." I will say that the smaller players on defense tend to get injured more, at least in Buffalo. I don't think anyone would dispute that. Get your facts straight. -

OMG your right! Because Bufflalo has had such a wonderful track record of attracting key free agents, and developing ....and keeping there good young players. The fact that the front office is a joke and we have continued to hire cheap inept and ineffective head coaches has not damaged the potential for free agents to come here, or developed players to stay at all. I can't imagine what I was thinking! -

True, but we can bring in a leader who has been there and done it before. And would only take the job with the understanding that the front office will do whatever it takes to win. And this is not something that a rookie head coach, with no experience and little authority would be able to do. it is not just about putting together a winning team on the field it is about commanding respect in the franchise and having the abililty to work with all levels of the organization. That is something only experience can do. Do you really think Ralph Wilson and co. are going to spend millions of dollars on players because Leslie Fraxier tells them too? I would be happy with Billick. I know a lot of people do not like him, but I feel if Cowher does not want it, he is the best available option right now. -

I am basing my opinion on the FACT that he is an unproven entity, with no track record for player personel decisions and that is not what we need as an organization. The bottom line is we do not know what he would do as a head coach. Maybe he would look for bigger guys to run the Tampa 2. But big fast strong and good defensive players are in short supply and are costly. That is two strikes against him bringing those types of players to Buffalo, even if those are the players he does prefer. How many of those players would consider comming to Buffalo to play for Bill Cowher as opposed to Leslie Frazier? How much more power would Bill Cowher demand from the front office - to spend money and bring in those types of players than Leslie Frazier? -

Dude, I know Minnesota runs the Tampa 2 defense with bigger players. I was just saying Frazier does not pick the bigger players in the scheme the head coach and GM do. Frazier may prefer smaller players when he makes personel decisions as the head coach. Also, how many of these really big defensive players wil want to come and play for buffalo, who are on their 5th head coach in 10 years and still have not brought any legitimacy to the organization....that is if Frazier is hired. Got it? -
Someone should tell Aaron that nothing good happens after 2 am.

True, but Frazier does not make personel decisions in Minnesota, he works with what he is given. The tampa scheme is designed around really fast and athletic defensive players. That typically requies smaller players. As HC do you think he will break from that philosophy? The bend but don't break quick defense. It is not a risk that I want to take after 10 years of mediocrity. -

Like 8-8 and out of the playoffs? Been there done that. He went to the superbowl with Cowhers team. -

How about the fact that neither have any real head coaching experience and they both really like the smallish athletic tampa 2 defense. Some on this board may want to make this about race, but lets be honest. Frazier's main talking point in the media comming into this interview was that he was "interviewed" 6 times for a head coaching position. He was obviously given a lot of interviews to satisfy the Rooney Rule, or else he would have landed one of the other six jobs he was a candidate for. I doubt that many of his previous interviews actually considered him a serious candidate for the hc position. This is not to say he is not qualified, but he probably got more interviews because he was on the short list of qualified black coaches. This team needs a proven entity running the team, not another coordinator who will come cheap and who is trying to make a name for themselves. I don't care what color they are. if we could hire Tony Dungy today, I would be all for it. We need a proven leader who will bring legitimacy to the franchise. That is not Leslie Frazier. -
Not exactly "cleaning house" but I do like the Nix move and the lateral move for Brandon. Hopefully we now land Schottenheimer or Cowher with a little more stability and a quality well respected football man running personel decisions.

Nix - Cowher - Weiss - Lebeau - April That would be some front office and coaching staff.....we can all dream.
