Expansion of Practice Squads from 12 to 16 is under considertion

what do you think? Thanks for the post. This answers questions I have had and thoughts about how to mitigate a cancelling for games. The article suggests not only a bigger practice squad but a farm system similar to baseball which seems a bit of a reach to implement at this juncture. -
Does the NFL have a bubble plan? Covid rising

Just like the draft, all it takes is one. One team falls in love with a player and you have yourself a nice payday. One player dies who has an underlying condition and........the other 3000 are going to be like...... -

Yeah and imagine a position group getting hit at the same time. Now you have the DLine out for three games as a group. -
Exactly. My doctor has as some others have said (even though it probably won't happen) "they should just expose everyone and get it over with", referring to the team. By the start of the season they would be able to play on. Though probably NOT happening intentionally because of the moral, ethical, LEGAL ramifications but it would speed up the "process". Barring some out of the box thinking this year could easily come with an asterisk if they get that far....

It is definitely a concern for some (myself included), while others seem to believe that this will be basically business as usual (this is the least likely scenario imo). Football is not a sport that has any aspect of social distancing; so barring a virtual miracle and not over Zoom, there will be outbreaks. It would seem to me that position groups could easily be the weak link of this charade. Sometime between the injury report and the walk thru on Saturday; 4/5ths of your starting Oline tests positive. What are teams going to do then? But more importantly what could teams do now to help mitigate this possibility?

Excellent news -
The Premier League has increased roster sizes and substitutions. Should/will the NFL be forced to implement similar actions to have a full season? Something we all want..... Are there larger rosters/practice squads? What if a position group were to be hit extremely hard, like one of or both of the lines? The worst case scenarios are endless. A fully quarantined QB seems like a no-brainer? Kicker? Other than everyone getting it and recovering by the middle of August which I heard posited on a podcast recently to some degree; what happens and why?

Your position isn't going to be very popular but it would seem to be a good bet at this point. A very likely scenario is that the season gets underway and then sometime around December a team, or teams, or a significant number of players are out and the league has to shut it down. Baseball is fairly well socially distanced as it is. Basketball not so much but they can isolate in Orlando. Football has 6-7 times the number of players, larger staffs, facilities so the Basketball model isn't going to be much help. no way

Politics in Football, Sports in General

There are many layers to this onion. Will there be a marked increase or decrease in viewership depending on whether players stand or kneel? How many players will quit playing if they were to somehow lose their ability to protest? How many guys are ready to step into those roles and will the quality of play be that diminished? Will the league take that big of hit? And for how long? Kaepernick has been out of the game for how long? What percentage of fans no longer watch because of it? Great players have come and gone over the years and the game remains strong. Both sides need to tread lightly but at the end of the day, who is going to be the next Curt Flood and will it matter? -

Your response has nothing to do with what I said. Thanks

Which is the interesting part to me, because when you look at them and their guns out, they look just like the other guys, with their guns out. So are they just the same wolf in another sheep’s clothing?

The only problem is he got that from Sanders, so you put as much lipstick as you want on that pig but it is still a pig.

Yeah and you don’t see big groups of away fans at Heinz field either. -
Is said John Doe about to fail a drug test or be out of the NFL? 3 months seems a bit long to wait to press the issue, if it was truly egregious.
-
Sure. John Doe didn’t want any obnoxious drunk “chick” touching him. And now, Covid adds a whole ‘nuther layer to safe sex...Dude didn’t want to be on that plane to begin with but he had to be somewhere.

How do you know he was a big man? Could have been Roscoe.
