  1. I would rather have Billick.
  2. Agreed, I wanted the Bills to get him at the dead line. His time in Cleveland has been awful, just not a fit in the 3-4 so his value should be down. If the Bills stay with a 4-3 there should be some reasonable free agents that could help the front seven get bigger and more physical. Derrick Johnson or Aaron Kampman come to mind.
  3. Bottom line is we need some better players to compete for a division title no matter who the coach is.
  4. Wishful thinking, but unlikely.
  5. A 3-4 should maximize Maybin's abilities, enable the team to cut or trade some dead weight (schobel), and get a more physical front 7. I am for the switch.
  6. I hope he wins I am pulling for him if he is the coach next year it's okay by me.
  7. If we hired him as OC and Crennel as DC I would not be upset if we did not get a shannahan type coach.
  8. I agree to a certain extent, but Vick adds another dimension to the game that defenses need to account for. The problem for Vick is he might be past his prime, but when he was on he did lead Atlanta to two NFC championship games.
  9. All good points. I am hoping that if we can't get a "big gun" we can get excellent DC & OC plus a tough coach...no idea who the best canidate would be.
  10. Assuming we don't get Shanahan what other coaches would be acceptable? I think a top DC and OC along with a better HC could be as good as a Shanahan type coach. fire away. Another possibility is hiring Jeff Ireland as GM and let him take the football operations. Head Coaches: 1. Russ Grimm 2. Brian Billick 3. Leslie Frasier 4. Perry Fewell 5. Jason Garrett OC: 1.Charlie Weiss 2. Jim Fassell 3. Marc Trestman 4. Mike Martz DC: 1. Romeo Crennel 2. Ted Cotrell 3.???
  11. Looks like someone finally realizes that we need to get bigger up front. Also if Shanny brings a 3-4 here you need players that size at NT.
  12. It's really the same deal with Cowher, he said he wants to wait until the end of the season and look at all of the jobs. I don't feel either coach turned the Bills down by saying they would never coach here. Both have reasons for their decisions that should not necessarily reflect poorly on the Bills. Holmgren turned down the redskins mid season and nobody says anything about that.
  13. Typical espn only big markets should have a team.
  14. What if you are giving the next coach total control of football operations?
  15. There are some excellent Orthopaedic Surgeons in Jacksonvillle, including several at the Mayo Clinic. I'm not sure where he is but I'm sure he has access to excellent care.
  16. Funny, I thought he played well
  17. It would be interesting to bring him back. At this point I would try Jeff George for some decent QB play.
  18. I think Maybin is a 3-4 OLB if developed properly. It's always easy to play monday morning QB, but I thought the only DE in last years draft that was a first round 4-3 end was Robert Ayers. If the Bills want to compete they need to get bigger upfront.
  19. Cowher gives us the best chance to rebuild the roster with a chance for long term success. He will make the team tough, good defensively, and able to run the ball.
  20. I can't see him wanting to coach again.
  21. Ar this point it's all smoke and mirrors. If they don't get him you don't want the guy you do hire to feel like he's not your top choice.
  22. No just enjoy the process, we can't fix the team this year anyway.
  23. I'm glad they realize they have made mistakes and are trying to correct them.
  24. Everybody misses..except when you hve espn in your face all of the time it's magnified. maybe we should have a tv crew follow you around at work for a month and count your mistakes...matter who the Bills hire they will have made mistakes..give it a rest.
