  1. I am shocked. FSU boy resorts to name calling and getting all hissy-pissy. Waaaaa, we didn't beat the gators.....like in forever!! I am not a Gator fan fool, but since you brought them up, how has Ponder fared against the Gators? I am not irrational about Ponder, I just think he is pedestrian at best...or at least has been so to this point in his career.
  2. Again, the teams i have named are decent teams...are you going to come back with last minute wins against middle of the pack or bottom feeder ACC teams? And in the losses to the teams i mentioned, go back and look at the box scores....throwing INTs has something to do with why the Nole defense gave up points. Again, what is Ponder's signature win against a quality team? You guessed it, there isn't one. Homerism, alive and well!
  3. Uh Ramius, based on your avatar (if only FSU could've stopped Tebow....ever) and location.....i am sure your recommendation of Ponder is solely on his skill-set and accomplishments. Care to list the number of quality wins he has at FSU? How about the number of victories he has led the noles to over florida? Boston College? Georgia Tech? Miami? If memory serves me, didn't Ponder lose to USF this last year....making the noles the 4th best team in Florida?
  4. I don't understand this statement.....do the Colts not run a "real" offense? Maybe i am wrong but I think there is a huge misunderstanding of exactly what a spread offense is. Perhaps my eyes deceive me but it appears that the Colts, Vikings, Saints and Patriots (among others) run the spread. I know that Belichick and Gruden are both spending a great deal of time studying the spread. Anyone care to point out which grind-it-out, two backs-two tights offense is succeeding in the NFL these days?
  5. Bernie Kosar......never fixed his mechanics or delivery......successful nonetheless. Just the first example that popped in my head.
  6. Wow, some things just fall on deaf ears. Opinion does not equal absolute truth......even when you say it in a condescending manner.
  7. I think when it comes to these very passionate discussions (that have absolutely no way of being proven or dis-proven at any point in the near future) it would be helpful to know the college allegiance of each poster. If the poster happens to support a UF rival or even ohio state, it is hard to imagine that the opinion isn't a little tainted. What is even more head scratching to me is when a member of the media makes a concrete judgment on the future of a player. Today while listening to mad dog radio Scott Wetzel persisted in stating that not only is Tebow a certain failure but that he wouldn't even be drafted or maybe in the 6th or 7th round. While opinions are great, making completely ridiculous statements removes all credibility from that person much like what constantly happens on this board. It is very safe to say that Tebow will not be a great NFL QB because most college QBs (by a large margin) never become great at the pro level. But conversely, to say with absolute certainty that he will suck is plain ignorance and slanted opinion. Will Suh be worth his high draft pick, hopefully so.....but it isn't a sure bet. Is 3 tackles against arizona (!) a dominant performance.....hardly....but what does that really mean? Opinions are great, and they are what this board is all about......but when presented as absolute fact.....they are just plain irritating.
  8. wow, look what happens when you CATCH the screen pass!!
  9. Sorry KTFBD, i have to agree with Willis above.....i watched the last play of the Broncos-Chargers game yesterday and I immediately was impressed with how far Rivers threw the ball on that play. I would have to wonder if even JP could have thrown it any farther......that was a monster throw and the ball was not fluttering when it came down....it was impressive.
  10. It is very possible that Marv and Co. might be thinking that it isn't necessary to take a RB in the first round. Great RBs come from all rounds of the draft on a yearly basis, so it might make sense not to spend the big money on a RB in Round 1. As a for instance, Deshawn Wynn out of Florida is a very good back that has decent hands. He doesn't have a lot of wear on him because he and Urban Meyer never seemed to gel so urban wouldn't play him much until he really needed production out of the RB position. The kid is good and can definitely run the ball. Just a thought.
  11. All i have seen so far is play after play where the refs aren't throwing flags on obvious colt penalties.
  12. getting rid of Travis Henry in favor of Wills McGahee was a good idea?? I never bought it.....McGahee was the flavor of the month choice.
  13. A guy in my fantasy league was Winkler's "Ass Double" in the tattoo scene. The pictures he has from it are hilarious. He said Winkler spoke to him for almost 3 straight minutes explaining his "motivation" and setting up the scene....at the end of which my friend said...."so what your saying is you want me to moon the camera". Classic
  14. I respect everyone's suggestions and think this is a really interesting thread but i have only one comment to make because I don't think i have seen this player's name mentioned. But regardless of what point in his career he was here as far as receivers go that wore the uniform, James Lofton has to be among the top 3 in my opinion. James Lofton finally gave the K-gun the outside, down the field threat it needed to compliment andre. I recall one season where james was averaging something like 18 yards per catch deep into the season....he was special even late in his career when he was a Bill. And as i recall his induction into the HOF was as much about being a Bill as it was about being a Packer.
  15. Never beat the gators.....ring any bells?
  16. wow, does the same song just repeat over and over and over in your head. I could understand the insanity then. Why not post one single post and just say it applies to all post on the board from here on out...something like.... Travis Henry sucks..... Marv sucks...... and no matter what, unless a offensive linemen is taken in every round of every draft, it is a total waste. Picking good players, specifically DBs (which this team has been as woefully devoid of as o-linemen) can only be viewed as idiotic if not insane....!! Have i covered it? Ice, where are you now?
  17. Never...and i mean never ever, let facts stand in the way when someone is on a roll. Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until ............
  18. I can't believe you people want to sit here and talk about clements like he had an awful game. McGee cost us that game. The Lions offensive strategy was simple to throw to whoever McGee was (or wasn't is more accurate) covering. He has just been plain horrible and any o-coordinator watching any game film on the bills this year will continue to relentlessly challenge McGee until he shows he can cover anyone. That was just embarrassing. I actually thought they might pull him from the game....or so i hoped. And where was the coaching adjustment to help cover up that problem? Good lord, do something as coaches.
  19. If it isn't a chic, bring your knee pads.
  20. 1. How can you not just love Jim Kelly as a sports figure in buffalo. The man has been there for the bills since his retirement. Plus, did you see that he was the first guy over to sound man that got clobbered? That was classic and hilarious. 2. I am not a fan of the U at all and haven't given Willis much slack, but that kid flat out took the challenge of being a bad blocker and he was world class today. 3. JP is simply getting it done and getting better in the process. For those fans in the closet hoping for him to come apart, be ashamed, Losman wants to succeed and is willing to really work at it. I think he has arrived, and will continue this upward trend, though there will be hiccups along the way. 4. This team is young and.....FUN! Way to go Marv and DJ! I am starting feel that old bills spirit that has been missing.
  21. i believe Elvis served me Loch Ness Monster soup this morning in a cafe aboard a UFO while circling the PLANET Pluto, but that is just what i believe. Sorry, i couldn't let that one go.
  22. showing the game right now on the nfl network
  23. Uh...not sure what that means....do you have any quotes to back up your claims that those three preferred RJ? Or is it just smoke looking for a butt to be blown up?
  24. You have to love revisionist history....or simply historical retelling that fits a personal slant. The facts that came to light were that Ralphie wanted to see his investment play. And who can blame an old man for wanting to play with his Johnson, no one else would have. Once the Flutie led (?) Bills delivered a playoff birth, Ralph became the puppet master and Wade the puppet. The rest is lore. On top of that, after throrough interviewing....master head football coach Greg Williams chose Rob Johnson....another feather in the RJ cap. You can tell me all the stories you want, but the last time the Bills were a team that was fun to watch, was winning consistently, and had some sort of respectability was when Flutie was QBing this team.
  25. I love posts like this that state "opinion only" as if it is fact. Because you say it (or type it) doesn't make it true....or for that matter, even close to the truth.
