no it's simply your opinion....which for some reason, message boards have caused people to not understand the difference between facts and opinions. Doc states he was along for the ride, yeah, so the other 236 passing yards and 40+ rushing yards were meaningless. The book on Tebow is certainly an open one and nothing has yet been decided. But versus other NFL QB's on rosters, like say Kyle Orton, he has a winning record on a team that before he was the starter sucked, and after he was the starter began winning. this isn't like Matt Cassell or Matt Flynn (Rob Johnson anyone?) taking over very good teams with proven systems and doing well, this is a guy taking over a piss poor team and winning.....however you want to justify it, it is winning. P. Manning has come into that team and proven that an even better quarterback (versus K. Orton) has produced even better regular season results. Am i claiming that Tebow is an elite QB, no, but I am claiming he is better than a lot of the backups out there who either have horrible w/l records or who have literally no NFL experience. and by the way, getting "curb stomped" by the Patriots who went to the Superbowl that year isn't an embarrassment, it is the norm. Unless the broncos had won it all that year, there would always be a 'well why didn't they beat so and so"......yes, losing to arguably the best team that year is something to be ashamed of. How did ol Fivehead Manning and the broncos fair against the pats last year? THEY GOT CURB STOMPED....so i guess it has something to do with the entire Broncos .....they were losing 31-7 at one point in that game.....EXPLAIN THAT ONE DOC!

Ok I call total biased BS on this typical anti tebow blabber....don't embarrass further and go watch a clip of the play. The ball was on the 20 after the kickoff.....the "5 yard throw" was thrown from the 15 to the the 38-39 yard line.....so if D. Thomas is tackled immediately, it is a 20 yard pass play. Even money says Tebow still throws for over 300yards against the #1 defense. By the way, that is the most passing yards given up by the Steelers that year. But continue on with baseless inaccurate statements.

no, that is your opinion and a spin on the real situation. please explain to me the change in Tebow's 4th quarter QBR when the coaches finally stopped calling run run....ok make a play on 3rd and long. i believe Tebow had one of the highest 4th qtr QBRs in the league in 2011. Urban Meyer has refuted every one of these Horse-Hoge stories about Tebow's supposed incapability of running an offense. also supported by statements from Jon Gruden, Dan Mullen and Mike Westhoff. But it was said on ESPN by one of their super intelligent analysts (such as Cris Carter) so it must be true....because ESPN is always accurate, well researched and unbiased.

In your opinion....man for a guy who thinks Tebow has no talent, you spend an inordinate amount of time following him, threads about him and scouring the internet for information about him. Not sure i get it. I like Tebow. I like his attitude, his desire to win and they way he does not give up. I like that he overcame the worst play calling by any O-coord (run every single first down), a coach who did not believe in him and an undermining GM/President who looked like he was getting his colon-scoped every time Tebow accomplished anything to still lead his team to wins without whining or complaining. You don't, we get it....message is very clear. Why keep posting about how much you don't like him? Just curious.

What team went to the SB from the AFC the year the Pats beat Tebow's Broncos in the playoffs?

I love these quotes....because someone...anyone writes something, it must be true. God knows that hack sports writers never make up anonymous sources to support the article they personally feel compelled to write. I refer you to: Here comes my date, he's a french model.......

Uh, Manuel did play that competition.....its the ACC for love of mike! The ACC absolutely sucks and for those that love bowl games, the last several years have completely supported that. FSU lost to Wake Forest???!!!

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
Garranimal replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Acutally I am a Bama fan, and if you think I apologized, you have demonstrated FSU-level reading comprehension, which explains a lot. Really? He was better than Big Ben on a certain day in Denver...during a playoff game. Yes fellow Bills fans, they still have the playoffs every year. -
Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
Garranimal replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why because you think your opinion trumps mine? I think Tebow is a better QB right now and at the time of drafting versus EJ "I-was-happy-to-beat-Wake Forest-Finally" Manuel. I am sorry if my opinion doesn't please you....oh wait, on second thought, i don't give a rats ass. -

And i would take him over Manuel every day of the week, and definitely twice on Sunday! -

[closed]There`s a football God
Garranimal replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, and he has a sense of humor......which is why we now have EJ Manuel. Only in the NFL are guys who couldn't do it in college considered to be capable of succeeding at the next level, while guys who did succeed in college are considered unable to succeed with better competition. Of course, the view to anyone outside of Buffalo, if it is done by the Bills organization it is a disaster until proven otherwise. -
Bill Polian's top 4 qualities in a franchise QB
Garranimal replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly....winner winner, chicken dinner. What is Polian's qualification as a supreme QB selector, beyond ol' Fivehead? These were the key factors in drafting Peyton Manning, he set new overall standards for each. Peyton's forehead and Elway's chompers, if manning and elway had a kid, it could participate in the Macy's New Year's parade. -
That article is pretty much spot on if you aren't a Nole fan. Replace "EJ Manuel" with "Tim Tebow" in the first five paragraphs and you have the same guy with far far less college success in one of the weaker conferences in CFB. Amazingly, some people here want him at number 8 but consider Tebow a laughable reach at number 25.....hot pockets! Further proof that nothing about the draft is either certain or logical. Take a flyer on a QB in the second or third round this year, hope for AJ McCarron or Johnny Football next year. How about Tyler Bray, he wouldn't be the first Tennessee QB to have success in the NFL while never winning a thing in college.....I jest.

Tebow as Fullback and Special Teams Captain
Garranimal replied to MississippiBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? Which team did he kill exactly? -
I have to say that I am of the belief that the reason that many of these young, very talented players never reach their potential is the "hot pockets" mentality. Teams change coaches more rapidly than ever and coaches change QBs at an equally unproductive rate. Many guys never get a chance to succeed or are so busy looking over their shoulders, they never truly relax enough to just play football. Look, i have to wonder what effect overexposure has had on the state of the NFL and the draft. The Kipers, McShays and Mayocks have all managed to make and break players before they even got a chance to just be football players. Then throw in all of the idiot ex-athletes who have opinions on every position, whether they know a thing about that position or not and you have preconceptions everywhere. Guys are busts before they even play a real down....forget about giving them a few years for their bodies to mature. I remember when Dwight Freeney was considered overrated and overdrafted.....lean and skinny as he was. To a certain degree, it is why college has become more appealing to me now when i couldn't stand to watch a game when i was a kid. But college is getting ruined as well by all of the media noise.
-
Statistically, not argumentatively, i would say that history has shown that NFL scouts have an incredibly poor success rate with regard to picking QBs......and many other positions as well. Every year, numerous QBs are taken and the majority BY FAR end up being grist for mill. For every Peyton Manning there are 10 (maybe 20?) Ryan Leafs.

This post, to me, strongly supports the notion of not drafting a QB early. In fact, with all the talk of Wilson, it seems logical to draft a QB every year in the mid rounds and give that player an honest shot at blossoming. My perspective between this year's class and some of the classes in the past is that this group of QBs achieved precious little in college. In fact it is a mix of guys that either underachieved in big programs or are given passing grades for being in bad programs. Guys like Luck and RGIII performed to expectations in known programs. Wilson performed in two decent sized programs with good results at each stop. I would love a little feedback on who believes any of the guys in this class has done anything at the college level which distinguishes them as a solid prospect at the next level? Smith's documented physical limitations and fumbling problems are a real concern and are very likely to translate to the next level. EJ Manual has had the reigns for several years with essentially the same coaching staff and his "coachable" problems have not improved. But....if some of these guys last into the second or third round....by all means, take a flyer.

Rolando McClain (update - released by Raiders)
Garranimal replied to FutureBillsGM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, actually the Broncos are happy. The revenue they brought in from a HOME PLAYOFF GAME (yes, there is such a thing) paid Tebow's salary and bonuses. Without that turnaround, the Broncos would have had ZERO chance to sign the fivehead as they would have been near the bottom of the league, but probably not bad enough to land Luck or RGIII. The season they got with Tebow at the helm gave the Broncos the appearance of a team just a few pieces away from being a real contender which allowed them to gamble on Peyton. So that might have been the best draft gamble made in quite some time....and they got cash back and draft picks from the Jets. -
From your lips to god's ears!

this is the donte Whitner conundrum......does picking a guy in a later round make him any better? Would Donte have been a better safety for the bills if he were selected in the 4th round? the answer to both is no. so no, i wouldn't take EJ with the 40th pick. With EJ, is the problem EJ himself or is it that Jimbo Fisher can't coach? If its some of both, I wouldn't touch him because this organization has shown zero ability to polish a diamond in the rough.

sucks. preseason national champions for the past 4 years (sarcasm), lost a ridiculous game (or several) every year and usually Manual was a major cause in every one of those games. Oh, and plays in one of the worst conferences (of the big ones) in the nation.
