true they made a mistake think Tuel was ready for it but when they found out that he wasnt they made the change to Lewis, so I give em credit for that. Don't forget the plan all along was for Kolb to be the backup. Injury messed that up. Kolb would have gave us at least a chance vs the Browns after E.J. got hurt.

Like to add the Bills had the backup QB in Kolb, which is what they planed on but Kolb just got hurt,so its was bad luck there. Can't blame the front office for injuries. That being said I like where this team is headed, it just gonna take some time, they had an EXCELLENT draft, and if they have anything like this years draft next spring we can make the playoffs.

My only concern is with Hackett and the Byrd situation. Hackett has not figured out how to use Spiller, I'll toss Chan a bone here and say he knew how to use Spiller. I think Spiller should be use more in the screen game and short passes out the backfield. But that is fixable. The read option I don't like, it exposes E.J. to hits and I think E.J is more of a pocket passer, which I prefer. Byrd is a front office situation and its clear that the Bills must move on. They can get a starting CB and a draft choice for him if they play they cards right. If they cant trade him before the deadline this month play him and move him out next year.

It's still to early to say but Geno does look to be picking up things, he does have a much better long ball than EJ does but I still like E.J. Once E.J. learns how to run out of bounds and not hurt his team by taking those big hits he will be fine. Still say if E.J. plays the whole game in Cleveland we win. We will be alright. We draft a guard for him next year and this offense is gonna be stout.

I hope Thad Lewis comes in and plays well but my passion for this season has gone out the window. All EJ had to do was step out of bounds and we wouldn't be in this situation. But its the Bills we are talking about, nothing goes right for us. Someday the Football Gods will smile on us again.

I feel the same way. EJ was to learn to get out of bound and save not only himself but keep the team in the mix. If he steps out of bounds we win the game , im sure of it. Now he is out a few weeks. any hope for the playofs is out the window. That what I'm mad about, with EJ we have a chance to win every game, without him we are toast.

NFL.com poll maybe a tad high but they gave us mad props for beating the champs. It like that in any sport really, you get extra cred for beating the Champs, even tho they are not nearly the same team as last year.

Looks like the Browns are lucky the Bills are hurting at RB. I don't think Fred should play an sprained MCL is not good. Let him take the time off because he is the older running back. I'd would risk C.J. because he is younger at maybe a quicker healer that Jackson is right now. I would let Choice take the most carries this week and let E.J. work the playbook. They are going to have to let him open up sometime, might as well be this week with both his backs hurting. I don't want to see EJ run that much, QB can and do get hurt. We got to get the ball to Woods more, let him start to take the pressure of Stevie. The way the Bills D is playing they have more than a decent chance to win and go to 3-2 .

Listen when I first read OP I was kinda on Byrd side, he played hurt last year... had a nice season, was good off the field ,played out his rookie deal. So maybe I was willing to give him some slack because the Bills didnt pay him what he wanted and he was a bit burned by that. Now after seeing Urbick , Spiller, Stevie, Kyle, Super Mario, McLovin, Mr Big Stuff ( God I love his nickname ) not only get hurt and fight back on to the field there has to be some talk in the locker room about Byrd. Really dude played with the same injury last year.... If he gonna be a B word about his money then let him go, there I said it. In the NFL you can be replaced...easy.

Remember last year Choice had a good game vs the Browns. He can play, the Bills have 3 quality RB's. Back to Fred tho, I bought his jersey, don't even wear it. It's on the wall in a frame. That's how much I respect him as a player and a person.

Spiller was running better, that was nice to see This kid Kiko is no joke, kudos to the scouting staff. 2 ints ? Really ? wow Dareus looks like he learning when to make plays. We still need him to show up like this every game. Can't wait to see the Bills D when they get everybody back. Really do the Ravens or Jets hit those deep balls if Gilmore is on the field?

When the injuried guys in the secondary come back...we are going to have some good depth. Byrd and A. Williams starting Safties. McLovin and Gilmore starting CB's. What has impressed me the most about A. Williams is he has responded from better coaching. Clearly he has been coached up. Like I said it will be interesting to see Petine work with a full deck.

Chan knew offense but didnt have a clue on D. The problem was Fitz not being able to finish games. Losing Levitre is not helping matters. But I do admit Chan knew how to use C.J. more than Hackett does at this point.

You lose Spiller, Dareus, McLovin today. So we played without are starting 2 CB's and Free Safety and still had a chance to tie the game . Rodgers got toasted 2 times for TD's. We lost by 7. You do the math. Yea EJ could have done better but i didn't see the halftime adjustment on Offence. WE will be alright. EJ learned the hard way today...line gave him no time ,give Jets D some credit.

I agree with everything you said. What impresses me most about E.J. you can tell he is WAY more mature than his age. It shows up in the big moments. Like in the 2 minute drive at Indy in the preseason at the end of the first half. I said to myself, we FINALLY got a QB. I think Doug Whaley said this stage doesn't seen to big for him. It sure seems that way so far. If he stays healthy this year there is a strong chance he maybe Rookie of the Year. Just wait until he learns how to throw deep at the Ralph, it think the winds have been effecting his long ball but that is certainly fixable. The biggest things he has going for him to me is both C.J and Freddie. not only in the run game but the pass game as well. They can both catch very well and can make people miss to get first downs. EJ has some serious talent around him. All he has to do is spread the ball around to everybody and move those chains. This team might not have anybody that's gonna have huge stats. But they are talented enough on offense to make teams nervous about playing the Bills because you cannot focus on taking one guy out. If they can be better against the run on D they are going to be in most if not all games this year. and if E.J. can continue to pull them out like last week... we maybe on to a season that surprises everybody.

Does it seem like he has more respect for Marrone than Chan?? No more playing around , strickly business.. As a matter of fact , Mario is also playing much better with this coaching staff. I like where we going , this year may surprise us all.

We would be catching the Ravens wih Ray Rice not 100 percent. Cleveland ...we beat them last year, and will this year Id be very happy with 3-2 tho .

the only reason I can think of is maybe the coaches dont trust Easley with the knowledge of the playbook. Otherwise I think Easley should be given a chance to show he can do it , he did it in the preseason right?

This team will be better once Gilmore returns. Byrd is an All-pro so contract situation be damned, once he gets back we will be even better. Does anybody think Brady throws to the middle of the end zone with Byrd back there?? Once he gets back to game shape Byrd will be an asset at FS. In any system.
