  1. i dunno, Im a firm believer in this team lacks playmakers and hopefully Watkins is, but i think history has shown this century anytime you get the 9th pick in the first round plus Buffalo's no. 1 next year, and a 4th, thats a pretty good trade by Cleveland.
  2. I really agree with this. Tag him again and do it the following year ..... what would be that total for 2 years compared to what the Bills were offering. Then tell Eugene good luck getting that huge contract when Byrd is close to 30.
  3. This is depressing if he walks, that 2nd round a few years back where we drafted Byrd and Levitre.....well that was wasted on teams going no where. Groundhog day in Buffalo continues.
  4. I dont get how you would offer him 30 million for the first 3 years(10 million per year avg) but wont tag him again for 8.4.
  5. You are absolutely right. There has always been a group of posters on here who will defend anything the Bills do. Modrak had his defenders on here right until the end. It was never his fault---he just sets the board!!! If they cant defend what the Bills are doing then they attack the messenger, in this case Graham.
  6. To me, Superbowl XXV was exactly the opposite of Andre's career. The Giants were going to lay back and punish receivers which they did to Reed in that game, not his finest hour. But through all the seasons Andre had with the Bills is knowing and remembering all the full speed, over the middle, big impact catches he made over the years. He was one tough SOB. Tough catches over the middle and he could bounce off a defender and take it the distance. Safety coming to blow it up....... and he would hang on and take the shot. He made a living over the middle in the pre-defenseless receiver NFL. From Kutztown State to the the hall of fame.....the dude had heart and game.
  7. Im over 50 and I think Bruno and the RHCPs did fine, though I thought they should of ended with Higher Ground instead of the slow number. I'll agree with Curitiba above and go with the Pearl Jam or the Foo Fighters. Katy Perry I could watch, Taylor Swift not so much, that would be a beer run excuse. It is a tough gig to find someone appealing to a wide range of people but who can also entertain.
  8. Its 2 different generations in each conference. The 2 old pocket passers, who can see the field like few others vs the young gun athletic QBs who bring the running element the other 2 dont have. Guess I'll root for Russell Wilson.
  9. In a way the whole season feels anti-climatic. I dont think it would of shocked many people to say before the season started, that the Seahawks and 49ers would be in the NFC championship game and Denver and the Pats in the AFC championship game.
  10. I hope they dont wait til May 11th.
  11. Im more concerned about the fashion crime of still wearing Zubaz.
  12. Is Duke going to hang 60 or 70 on them?
  13. Did A&M study Wanny' defense last year?
  14. My wife is a waitress so this a normal New Years eve for me, we usually will eat dinner as the ball is dropping.
  15. I think that everytime I watch him play, he'll get crunched in the NFL.
  16. I think the buy-out is the one thing that hurts him. The one smart thing PSU did in that contract.
  17. They just approved a 10 million dollar high-def scoreboard. The old scoreboard was a whopping 13 years old and probably used about a 100 times. They paid out about 150 million in settlements, lawyer fees and public relation fees. Ive been in their private dining hall, their indoor practice facility. Ive inspected the stadium as part of my job. They spent over 440,000 on football recruiting 2013. There isnt much lacking at PSU. OBrien has made no secret about his desire to coach in the NFL, he gets the offer he's going to leave.
  18. I'll admit I'm ignorant of exactly what is Hairston's injury and can he comeback. Can anyone shed any light on this, even after googling it I'm kinda lost at how bad it is.
  19. I was listening to Sal on the radio and that was his logic to deflect any talk of we need a big WR too. I like Sal but thats like saying we took JP in the first so we should never draft a Qb in the early.
  20. I agree. Jboys, much like TJ you're jumping, but you're jumping the shark.
  21. TJ Graham is a 300+/- yard a year, 1.5 TDs a season receiver. I give any street free agent his snap counts I get the same or more than likely better results. Debating how good he is would be like debating how attractive Mayim Bialik is......pointless.
  22. If Pain and Patience is the medicine, its tasting worse and worse as the years keep going by.
  23. A few of my season thoughts: 1. I think Thad throws the ball downfield better than EJ and will throw it into tighter coverage than EJ is willing to risk. I also think he makes faster reads than EJ. He is also very scattered armed. 2. There are only 2 receivers on this team I see as part of the long term future Woods and Goodwin,. Hogan-Easley, nothing burgers, TJ Graham is a few hundred yards of receiving a year, with speed that doesnt really show itself on the field and has suspect hands. And Stevie is just an enigma, has bursts of productivity and bursts of choking, but doesnt really have big play ability. Plus his oh well no biggie on the fumble/drops bothers me. 3. This team needs playmakers, come through in the clutch playmakers. I hate to lose, refuse to lose, playmakers. 4. I'll get crap from some for this but the culture of failure is real. How can a team win between 4-7 games for 9 years straight? Why is there always this sub-mediocre ceiling for almost a full decade? You can say this guy wasnt coaching then or these players weren't on the team then. I hear ya, but I also know that the entire roster isnt overturned every year. Plenty of guys in that locker room have seen this team come up small in big moments. Pick your poison on ways to find a way to lose; penalties, cant stop the run, give up big passing plays, key interception, drops, fumbles, special teams play. It's mind numbing in it's consistency of futility. 5. How does this team have stats each year the boggle the mind. Like losing to Cleveland and Derek Anderson throwing for just about nothing. Last year it was the 300yds given up in rushing and passing in a game. This year it was losing to the Jets despite the Jets giving up the most penalty yards and winning a game since before a lot of your fathers we born and it was some team I never heard of, thats the kind of record we match. Or before the game I heard we could be one of 4 team to record 60 sacks, we would of been the only one with a losing record. 6, Nate you need to learn to use CJ Spiller in space, improve the red zone offense. 7. For all the love Pettine got this year, the run D got worse down the strech with a relativley fully healthy defense. 8. This team needs a great draft to get over the hump and in the playoffs. Odds are we arent going to unseat the Patriots for the AFC east division, that leaves 2 WC spots for a playoff berth. So this team has to get past the likes of the Chiefs, Chargers, Steelers, Ravens, Dolphins, Titans, Jets, Texans(who have talent and a top pick). Sure you can say we were better than some of them but to make the playoffs we have to better than all but one of them. Thats cold hard reality. 9. Motto for 2014----No excuses. 10. Go Bills!!!
