  1. 30-40 million over the cap depending on what site you look at.  Cut players XY and Z and those are even more holes to fill.    3 defensive linemen signed to the roster next year.  One of the safeties is a FA, the other one is old too.  Gabe is a FA, lose him you have Diggs, Shakir and nothing.   Pre-Beane scouts got you Milano I believe, correct me if I am wrong on that.   Panics in the first round, throws away picks that could be young, cheap guys to develop.   News flash, other teams dont share their board with Beane.  Turns 2nds into 5ths and 6ths. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid for a speed rusher on the wrong side of 30.  Extended a TE for 14 million when he was going to take a TE in the first.   I would say his record is mixed.

  2. Getting a little sick of hearing  what McD has done for this team.   The 3 years prior with Marrone and Rex we were basically a 500 team, and they did that with Orton and Tyrod, they didnt have Allen and Diggs.   Marrone was 9-7 I believe, same as Seans first playoff year.    Its not like we were 1-15.   I would think the Bills would have the pick of the litter of new coaches.   How many head coaches never really get a chance when you draft people like Manziel, Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Rosen, and on and on.   Get a head coaching gig with a very good qb, yeah coaches would want that.    Sean's had his chance, he comes up small when it counts, time for a change.

  3. Josh played his ass off.

Von is out right dogging it out there.  He shouldn't even dress.  Its reaching embarrassment at this point.

Somebody, anybody on the PS has to be better than Sherfield and Harty, sign of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different result, time for a change there.

Thought Douglas dogged  it on a pass on the sideline.

McD out adjusted by Philly's O in the  2nd half.

Poyer  and Hyde for sure have a lost a step each, ready for some youth there.

Josh's record in OT is McDs record in OT too, and his D hasn't made plays when its crunch time.   Seems like a pattern.

    Refs did suck bad.

Like what I saw from Ty Johnson

The bad news is we also get him next week at Philly and then two weeks later at KC.

Just seemed like he as quick on the trigger to question a lot of our big plays, Ty Johnson TD--was in all the way, and Poyer int, which i thought was an int hands under the ball, then you hear ball can touch the ground---was closer to me than him and Gene thought.

#3 I bet he says he likes every city.

  5. Great game plan.   I gotta eat crow on Rasul--didnt like taking on more cap money next year,  keep it up, big tests coming.    Dodson had a nice game,   Great running game.  ST coach better improve.   Von still looks shot.   Keep involving Shakir, less Harty.  Nice win, that was against Zach Wilson and Boyle.   Bills playoff odds improved.  Still a tough road.

Yep. Today is a must win. I will forgive losses in KC or Philly.

The mood here Monday will be FOUL if they lose today.

If they lose, I may take a hiatus from reading fan boards. They would be dominated by low-quality rants and be depressing to an unhealthy extent.

If they lose should people be posting positive stuff and playoff talk, you know make believe?

  7. Same as the guy above, been a fan since the OJ years.   The drought years had some of the worst posts.   Like discussing how many sacks Maybin would get, or how good EJ Manuel was going to be, or JP Losman or how one side of our line was set with Mike Williams.  The constant drafting of runingbacks.  I would roll my eyes at people thinking we really had something in David Nelson.  Not being excited at the thought of Dick Jauron or Chan Gailey made you negative.  I would rather read someone who has an actual opinion than somebody who wouldn't say crap if they had a mouthful, you know its going to be all sunshine, rainbows and puppies when reading their posts.  Your maker gave you 2 eyes and a brain for a reason, use them.

I will never stop watching, I live in another state, pay my Sunday Ticket money every year.    I wear my Bills gear and am back to taking crap from my Steeler fan buddies.  They complain all the time about Canada and Tomlin.    I don't need anyone questioning my fandom.

Sal is miserable. Constantly reminding guests and hosts that he "works for the Bills" and "I'm on the field for games"....cool, dude. I generally like the other WGR hosts but Sal is the worst. Can never be wrong either.

I bet there are plenty of roadies and other people who travel with bands and are on the stage in the background, doesn't make them musicians.  Sal isn't much different than the guy on a late night infomercial, he's a paid pitch man.

My favorites... "he is just doing what McD wants him to do"  "he eats up the middle and no one throws his way," meanwhile the receiver run right behind him in his zone coverage and he doesn't even move while the pass gets completed.

Tremaine defenders were the ultimate gaslighters.   You know what you were seeing with your own eyes, but they would stand logic on its head.    Always enjoyed the defenders who would cite their football background of HS football or division 3 college like they were Belichick or something.

Dallas was a Monday night game where the kicker had like 3 chances to make the game winning FG after a series of unfortunate plays that preceded it.

The NE game, UGH! Remember that one. Me and my best friend were dancing like school girls after the go ahead TD.🤣

When McKelvin took the ball out on the kickoff instead of downing it I swear me and my friend looked at each other and simultaneously said "Oh No!

Being Bills fans we subconsciously knew what was about to happen.

i remember on the kickoff, saying to myself, just dont let them stand you up and strip the ball,  just get down, and bam they do exactly that.    This is being a Bills fans, anticipating the screwup before it happens.   Funny how the coaches never see it.

Not sure where you are getting the 42M number from. We are 29M over the cap fro next year.

And yeah, there is going to be some significant turnover in the secondary.  You have White (29 next year - multiple major injuries), Hyde (34), Poyer (33), and now Douglas (30).  Hyde has a cap hit of 3.5 next year because of the void years so i could them working out a contract to bring him back. Douglas is a 9M hit and I could see them giving him a short extension to lower his number. I don't see how White is back on a 16M cap hit. They save 5.5M cutting Poyer.

Yes, cutting guys creates holes but they will need to fill those holes with draft picks and mid tier FAs, and maybe some re-signings.  FAs will have cheaper cap hits in year one than alot of these aging defenders will have next year.

    From Spotrac:

    BUFFALO BILLS CAP TOTALS

    Adjusted Salary Cap$244,047,903

    Active Contracts:$285,607,804

    Dead Cap:$574,960

    2023 Rollover:$3,547,903

    Total (All):$286,182,764

    Total (Top 51):$286,182,764

    Est. Cap Space (All):$-42,134,861

I didn't make that number up obviously.   Even if I take your 30 mill number, the draft class is probably going to be 8-9 million and will go up with each loss.  So clear 50 mill from the cap and that would leave 12 for FAs.    Again, good luck with that.  Maybe Beane can restructure Von so we have  him all 6 years of that albatross contract.

another tackle isn't a receiving threat.

Part of the reason 12 personnel is theoretically so successful for the passing game is because when you have 2 TEs in the lineup, you're in traditional run formations and the D has to make a choice to either play the run with a traditional 3 LB setup or go into a nickel formation, putting a mismatched smaller DB on either Knox or Kincaid.

That was kinda the whole idea of what this offense was moving towards in terms of philosophy for this season.  It was working while Knox was on the field and healthy, regardless of what his actual numbers were.

Call him a decoy if you want.  Another tackle would not be a decoy.  And you can't really substitute any other TE we have on the roster for Knox because they aren't the dual (blocker & receiver) threat that he is.

Sorry I must of missed the defensive  mismatches with Knox's season high 25 yards.in game.   Im sure hes keeping D coordinators up at night.

To preface: I don't think they will be firing McDermott after this season.

I think they will likely have to go with a younger group on defense based on the salary cap and simply where guys are in their careers.  They have 10 picks in the draft and I think that is something that wasn't an accident and I would expect alot of the picks to be dedicated to supplying that side with youth and cost controlled players. That said, this is a historically good WR draft and I'm expecting that to be a high priority pick.  If they finish 7-10 or 8-9, that would be roughly pick 12-16 which would a great spot to draft or even move up to take one of the top WRs in this class.

They are currently 30M over the salary cap for next year. I would expect the following changes:

Cuts/retirements: Mitch Morse, Tre White, Jordan Poyer, Deonte Harty, Siran Neal, Nyheim Hines, Rasul Douglas

Combined with restructures to: Ed Oliver, Connor McGovern, Tyler Bass

Gets us to roughly 20M in cap space.

Guys who won't be released or traded before June 1 because they would cost more to cut/trade than to keep on the team: Dawson Knox, Stefon Diggs, Von Miller, Kaiir Elam

They could also do things like extend Taron Johnson to reduce his cap hit (or cut him) which would free up more space.

So I would predict roughly 24M-27M in cap space heading into the offseason with 10 picks in the draft.  And thats without touching Allen's contract which I would hope they hold off on for now. I think thats plenty of cap space and picks to make some roster changes in the offseason and, if I'm being honest, I don't think they are losing much in the way of cuts as White hasn't been on the field consistently in 3 years, Poyer has aged, Hyde has aged (although I'd entertain him back on a modest contract), Douglas just got here (I'd also consider giving a new contract that lowers his cap #).

We are 42 million over the cap.  In your cuts/retirements you have 4 guys from the secondary,  we currently have 3 DL under contract,  we need to sign/draft/re-sign 6 guys there.  If you lost Harty which i would do tomorrow and lost Gabe theres 2 WRs spots to fill.  A center spot.  Guess Beane is going to find a bunch of great guys in rounds 5-7 and sign FAs in the 1-2 million range, good luck with that.
